I agree with the rule to a certain degree.
The rule seems to work fine, when I look at it from my perspective, but if I flip the statement over and say "I want to be treated by you the way you want me to treat you", I don't know if I would always agree. The way some people want to be treated may not necessarly be the way that I want to be treated.
There have been times when I've reated someone the way I thought they would want to be treated if they had been me, but it turns out that what may be best for how to treat me is not what works in dealing with someone else.
Do you think we should apply this Golden rule to how we treat people, or do you find it lacking?
