Do you find yourself repeating the things your mother said?

How often do you find yourself say to your kids, When I was youre age....... Or When you are older you will understand or better yet I know what you are going through..... funny isn't it that we all say " I will never be like my mom!" and then end up repeat eithers her words or granny's words. Why not share some of those wonderful moments when you realise just who you sound like.

My mom used to always say the wrong name when we were in trouble and get frazzled trying to correct herself. I always thought it was funny and I do the exact same thing.

One of my cousins said when he was drunk, ' When we are young we listen, when we are older we understand.' I now understand everything my mother ever said to me and I believe I am her carbon copy.

everyday and twice on sunday....my mom would always say "i don't give a cat frazzle what they do, you are my child and you do what i tell you to."

also....if we said anything out of the way on the phone to her even as adults(which is rare if ever, or if someone messes with anybody in our family) she will say "I will wear out a new pair of shoes getting to you, don't think i won't"...meaning even if she has to walk to get to you and set you straight, she will...and i have been chased up the street by my mom so don't put it past her..lol...

My daughter is too young for that yet but gosh, I hope not, that lady's crazy! ;P I do think I have my mother's morbid sense of humor though and feel myself exposing my daughter to it. I bought her a stuffed toy tarantula from the Austin Children's Museum and it is so funny to watch her cuddle it. She was crying one day and I told her to pet "Tara" to let her know everything is okay because she might accidentally bite when she is frightened.

My son is too young for me to have experienced this yet but I am already settling into a frame of mind similar to my moms. I actually want to say " Well I don't care what his mom lets him do, this is MY house and MY rules. While you are living under MY roof you WILL do as you are TOLD!!!" lol I don't know why. I just want to.

Oh, yes, probably the biggest one is "Well, I'm not so-and-so's mother" and "if you are going to carry on like that, you can do it outside!".
