I'm new here, so this may have been covered...During my first pregnancy, my OBGYN told me it was very safe to have a glass of (red) wine a week. I didn't exactly do that...but I did drink a couple glasses of wine at special occasions...maybe 7 during the whole pg. I'm wondering now that I am pregnant with number two what other docs have said to all of you on this topic? How do you feel about it?

I think it is fine to have alchohol once in awhile while pregnant. I had a glass of wine on a couple of different special occassions. It was also in my third trimester.

I had a few glasses of red wine on doctor's advice when I was pregnant. I was in my third trimester. Before that, I never even considered drinking while pregnant. Then one day I showed up to a doctor's appointment crying and upset (hormonal and feeling fat and also dealing with family issues) and my doctor actually wrote it on a prescription pad that I was to go home and have a glass of wine and put my feet up. I've seen this topic several times on CoM and people always say they don't believe a doctor would say it's ok. I'm here to say again, my doctor did.

I've also heard that a glass of red wine here and there during pregnancy is fine. I don't know that I would drink one every day but every now and then maybe.
