Please stop squabbling (both of you). This thread was about keeping children safe, not about wording, store-wide vs. company-wide recalls, or anything else.

I would still want to know. Even if it were voluntary. Even if there were a slightest risk. I would want to know.

I'm just simply trying to warn mothers about the potential risk.

They had on the news that there had been another baby got sick a couple months ago. The company said they were looking into whether an official recall is needed.

A recall is a recall whether it is issued by the store or by the company. Either way, the info needs to be spread. I think they should include what type of water (if bottled) was used, though.

It didn't sound like anybody was arguing, just stating their opinions, which is what this group is for.

** Mod Alert **

Ok since this is not a debate and has evolved into whatever this is, I'm locking it.

This isn't really a debate, Shannin. It's turning/turned into two people fighting/attacking each other.

Wow ladies. We kind of do the same thing in Bitchin Ladies but we do it with love. I think I like that better. And it is faster. This takes way too long. You guys almost seem like you are really mad at each other. And for what. I dont get it. I guess I am just not cut out for debates.

Besides, I tried to edit the rant you saw to avoid this exact problem and you just can't let it go besides acting like you are just being a bigger person by walking away. Yippee. That's mature. Letting it go would be mature.

Uhhhhhhhhh that makes no sense whatever because the timeline ISN'T off. You are just seeing my edited version before you're 'Calm down Niki' instead of the rant I initially posted. Overall, I really am tired of everything you are saying anyway so heck if I'm going to PM you over such a childish squabble so you can probably just continue to attempt to degrade me more. No thanks!!

No you weren't. It was up for plenty of time for all to see. Nice try though. I do believe you re read it and changed it cause you saw how it sounded, but the time line is off. Anywhoo, Kudos for that (changing it I mean). I am not coming back to this thread even out of curiosity, so if you have anything further to say to me, with me, what have you.......you know how to PM me.

Yes Marina, I decided it was horribly too bitchy and edited it. You jumped on it while I was editing.

Interesting enough, a post was clearly edited after the fact. Typical.

And THIS is why I steer clear of ANY debate you are in. See? I am a grown up, I am walking away. Just thought you should know how you constantly come off. Ba-Bye.

I don't like someone trying to politically correct me on one word. Why do it? Everyone should easily be getting the gist of why someone would post there is a recall. Even if voluntary. So I just don't see the point in technicalities when it comes to a childs life possibly being at stake. That to me seems to be the 'excess' here.

Which article did you read, Marina?

Maybe you should read these

And no, it hasn't been completely and utterly determined yet but if it is true, do you really want people to keep giving this potentionally deadly batch of formula to their children? Sorry I just err on the side of caution on these things. I wouldn't want anyone's kid dying afterall.

Settle down there Niki. Doesn't look like Kate was arguing at all, but sure sounds like you are.

From the article I read when this happened, they were not sure if it WAS from the formula. That they had tested it, and it was clear of the specific rare bacteria that killed the newborn. That it could have been from unwashed hands preparing the bottle, or the water etc.

My son is 13 months now but we gave it to him when he was under a month old. A doctors office gave us 3 free cans and a bag full of brochures for some reason. I didn't want to change what we already had him on but we ran out so I tried it and he was acting weird the whole week we had him on it. Fussy, barfing, the works. So I changed him back to normal Enfamil and didn't have problems. I thought maybe it was just the ingredients in the formula but what if his batch was contaminated too? It took an infant dying to find it afterall.

How old is your son? This is for newborn powdered formula. WHO and pediatricians recommend that you only use liquid formula for newborns and neonates as it's been sanitized and is safer.

Enfamil didn't recall the product, Walmart just removed it from their shelves "out of an abundance of caution". Which is a good thing, but it's not really a "recall".
