Laci, at least you have sensible people around you who should by all rights duct tape you to a seat, and make you watch it until you see the error of your ways! ;)

I too, absolutely LOVE A Christmas Story. Like Dana, I look forward to that 24 hour marathon - I just keep it on in the background so I can catch my favorite parts.

A few years ago, we were cleaning out my grandmother's house, and much to my utter delight, I found my dad's original Red Ryder BB gun from the 1940's!! My father had no idea my grandmother had kept it all those years. I think part of the reason I love this movie is that it captures a lot of what I imagine my dad's childhood was like growing up - listening to Little Orphan Annie on the radio, Ovaltine, and those department store Santa's.

Not to mention, that movie is just flat out funny as shit =)

My fave, even though it is a bit off of Christmas...Rudolph's Shiny New Year. Baby Happy is just too cute!

[deleted account]

Of course they are christmas movies! LOL i think almost any movie that even is has a christmas scene in it is a christmas movie!
Irene, I am so glad someone else likes that movie as much as i do!

The Polar Express!!! I absolutely love it (and so do my kids) because it makes me feel as though I am a kid again. I re-live my childhood holidays and the anticipation of Santa.

I don't know I think a bunch of unknown actors. I can't find any clips of it on Youtube either. But it's about this family that are whack and the son and step dad hate each other and the grandpa is a drunk and ends up dying when they're both banished to the shed. I remember seeing it once on tv and it was hilarious. It was made in 1998

Crackers is an Australian movie, it's so stupid but funny. I think it's called Crackers anyway!

Marina, I'm kinda jealous too, but really, i can't imagine which window i'd want see the electric sex gleaming out of either. Really it's a catch 22. LOL

Emma, what is Crackers?

You know, with all the threads of christmas and religion going on, it has made me realize why i like "A Christmas Story" so much. They celebrate christmas perfectly without any religious connotations, no denominations, I don't even think there is a prayer in the film. They don't go to church. The closest thing i can think of is they have to go to the Chinese restaurant and get the duck "fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra" because nothing is open on christmas.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!! It's hilarious, just like all movies with Clark Griswold in them :)

OMG I LOVE that movie!! I haven't seen it in the 11 years I've been in Australia (they don't have it here, which is bordering on blasphemous in my book).

Rudolph. That's always been my fav. I know it's mostly because it brings back memories, but so does Frosty. I think it's because even as a teen we enjoyed it, there were a lot of parts that became funny as we got older that weren't necessarily meant to be funny.

Hmmm....I think my all-time favorites come to a five-way tie...

A Christmas Story
Elf
Home Alone
Nightmare Before Christmas
A Charlie Brown Christmas....(not a movie but I LOVE it!)

Everyone can pick as many as they like! I'm in such a christmas mood right now i wish it was tomorrow. But no instead i have to go and help my parents fix fences from the floods we just had! :(

Garfields Christmas movie brings back so many memories for me! I watched it recently with my 3 year old and she wasn't impressed :(

My favorite now though is Elf.

I can't pick just one so I'll go with my favorite 2. I love Rudolph and Frosty the snowman. I grew up watching both and love the memories that are created each year while watching both. I love to cuddle up with a nice cup of hot cocoa, finger foods and my family :) This year will be the first year we will start the tradition with our 2 year old son ♥

National lampoons. Of course!
Tha santa clause 1, 2 and 3. I grew up with number 1 but the other 2 have grown on me and my daughter loves them all to.
I fell in love with The Polar Express 3 years ago. I love it so much i have to watch it whenever i can in the lead up to chrissy. :)

Do I have to choose one? Can I have three?

1. The Grinch (the good one...not the crap Jim Carrey thing)
2. It's a Wonderful Life (Christmas Eve must watch!)
3. Home Alone. And I always cry at the end. My husband makes fun of me for it and then I start laughing and then I'm laughing and crying at the same time. Am I the only one with this problem? Probably.

I have two and to me, they are equally great. I LOVE A Christmas Story and yes the 24 hr marathon plays non-stop at our house! :) And it wouldn't be Christmas without the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! I could probably recite both movies in full while watching them...but they never get old!

Mr. Parker: Get the glue.
Mother: We're out of glue.
Mr. Parker: You used up all the glue on purpose!

Christmas story is THE best, my kids HATE Charlie Brown Christmas...does Sound of Music count? cause we've always watched that around Christmas for some reason.
