I too, absolutely LOVE A Christmas Story. Like Dana, I look forward to that 24 hour marathon - I just keep it on in the background so I can catch my favorite parts.
A few years ago, we were cleaning out my grandmother's house, and much to my utter delight, I found my dad's original Red Ryder BB gun from the 1940's!! My father had no idea my grandmother had kept it all those years. I think part of the reason I love this movie is that it captures a lot of what I imagine my dad's childhood was like growing up - listening to Little Orphan Annie on the radio, Ovaltine, and those department store Santa's.
Not to mention, that movie is just flat out funny as shit =)

Frosty the Snowman, the cartoon version of Grinch, and the original Miracle on 34th St.
I hate A Christmas Story and Rudolph. I don't know why the characters in Rudolph are just creepy.
*edit* I hate a christmas story because one time they played it over and over through the whole month of July and I got burnt out. plus it's just kinda stupid :)

I LOVE the "A Christmas Story" Fararara ra ra ra ra! hahaha. Did anyone see that they actually sell a leg lamp? I've come sooo close to buying one for the past 2 years now but it would end up in a closet somewhere, I'm sure.
National Lampoons is my all time fav though.

White Christmas ( this is the movie in which "Bing Cosby tap dances with Danny fuckin' Kaye", as so eloquently stated by Chevy Chase in Nat'l lampoon's Christmas Vacation).....I always put up my tree while watching that movie.
The Bishop's Wife ( the one with Cary Grant and David Niven) - it was my grandmother's favorite and goes in the dvd player when WC is over.
It's a Wonderful Life (*ding* "Hey look @ me, I'm giving out wings!)
...and my mom's Christmas eve tradition - A Christmas Carol - the one with Alastair Sim - it was her favorite..this will be the first Christmas without her, but I'm still going to watch it on Christmas eve.
=)

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! My husband watches it any time of the year, but he starts REALLY watching it in September more often and more as Christmas comes closer. I would say he pretty much knows all the lines hahaha.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is my favorite of ALL time. It always puts me in the Christmas spirit. For the couple of weeks leading up to Christmas, I watch it at least 4 times! Wyatt is loving all of the Christmas specials that I used to love as a kid, Rudolph, Santa Clause is coming to town, The Grinch, and Charlie Brown Christmas. I love this time of year!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the Muppet Christmas Carol fan club!
I never buy DVD's but the first Christmas I was married, I missed it so much that I made a trip to Wal-Mart just for that movie. It was always the movie we watched while decorating the tree...and I still carry that tradition in my household!
I also love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...we quote it all Christmas long.
And the classic clay-mations are fun to watch. Does anyone remember A Garfield Christmas? I used to look forward to that one every year.

Elf. Nightmare before christmas.
I'm not really into xmas movies. I do love the old school animations though, the charlie brown, rudolph, and frosty stuff. I have to watch them every year.
Oh, and I hate a christmas story. Hate.
My dad watches the entire 24 hour marathon lol
My boyfriend does the same.
Its a tradition that wont die no matter how much I want it to.

My favorites are the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials, particularly The Year Without a Santa Claus. (the one with the heat and snow misers). They were staple in my childhood christmases, and I just love them all - Rudolph is among them, but I also love Nestor the Long Eared Donkey and the Little Drummer Boy (although both are a little bittersweet - Nestor's mother dies in the beginning).
I was thrilled that my two y/o seemed really into these old claymation shows form my childhood - although she's more into Rudolph than Santa.

The Nightmare Before Christmas, for me!
It came out the year I got together with my husband and was the first movie we went to see together.
Also, great characters, great songs, cute Tim Burton design, what more could you want in a festive movie? I LOVE it x

The Grinch. Love that movie. In my family, when someone is crabby or selfish or a jerk, we always say that their "heart is 2 sizes too small".
Muppet Christmas Carol is a close second. I adore the muppets and it is probably their best movie.

The cartoon version of the Grinch and the old Miracle on 34th street were always my favs growing up.
My dad used to make us watch "It's a wonderful life" and I hated it..until I became an "adult" and could empathize with George.
