I LOVE Subway here in the US :) My favorite sandwich is the turkey breast and ham on honey oat bread, with mayo only (mustard's gross...), lettuce, tomatoes, LOTS of olives, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar... Yummmmm... Now I'm hungry. :)

Gah! Makin me hungry. I used to work for Subway and we had a free reign when it came to our lunches, this one we named 'the belly buster':
ft long italian herb and cheese bread
roast chicken breast
crispy bacon
marinara sauce (nicked from meatballs)
lashings of cheese
packet of tortillas (crushed)
southwest sauce (creamy chilli)
lettuce
cucumber
tomato
raw onion
green peppers
black olives
dill pickle
jalapenos
OMG, this thing could sink a ship but it was soooooooooo nice :)

My Absolute face is ciabatta with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, roasted red peppers with balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. Crave it!

I also can't get enough of toast with peanut butter and banana with a little honey drizzled over it.... a long time, simple favourite of mine.



btw good idea for a topic, I'm going to have to bookmark this page for future reference. Everyone has some unique, yummy-sounding ideas for sandwiches.

You lost me with the onion, Tara. :) I can't bear them when they're raw.

Now caramelized onions on the other hand? Over roast beef, with cheddar, and a bit of Jack Daniels barbecue sauce, on a toasted kaiser? NOW we're talking.

I'm with Teresa, all the way. That sandwich sounds perfect.

Another good one is shaved pork loin with swiss cheese and apple butter, on sourdough.

This is the sandwich to top all sandwiches:

You start with a loaf of fresh potato scallion bread, toasted.
butter one side with fresh butter.
now add the following:
Fresh Hummus
Sliced Granny Smith Apples
Fresh Mung Bean Sprouts
Sliced Old Cheddar Cheese
Sliced Sweet Onion
Top it with a light smear of honey mustard and
Viola! The best damn sandwich in the world.
