I called my MIL who is a CNA and therefore works for BC Health. Meme you were right. Damn co pays :)



I do want everyone to know though that NYS tax payers paid for my Birth control last year- both the Mirena that decided to float up to my abdominal cavity and my Implanon.



Now does anyone know what it will cost me to take my slut enabling device (AKA Implanon) next year?

Ironically, under my provincial plan, my IUS was covered but not the birth control pill. But birth control was covered by my private plan. I think that part of the issue, says my cynical self, is that we have a rather low birth rate in our province, and that while they provide condoms for free all over the place, they don't want to discourage procreation too much. Also, the expense. But no amount of cynicism would convince me that on a local level (here in BC) our government doesn't cover the pill on "moral" grounds. That would piss me off. I'm sure by Rush Limbaugh's definition we'd be a regular Sodom & Gomorrah (he'd probably love it!).

But still Canada is pretty much a whore house compaired to the US since we do still cover contraception under our UHC.



ETA: I believe mine could be covered because I don't just use contraceptives for not getting pregnant. They also help with mood swings and my menstral migrains.

This is a man who lambasted President Obama for trying to rid the world of the Lord's REsistance Army. An organization so foul, so evil and the very definition of a terrorist organization. Then when even conservatives called him out on it on the Senate floor, he LAUGHED about it and said that he was merely 'misinformed.'



It was after that disgusting comment that I not only began to boycott any of the sponsors during his show but I also stopped listening to that radio station period.



Him calling a woman a slut is nothing compared to the LRA issue (with all respect to that young lady). He praised an thug organization that on a Christmas Day, wiped out village after village, raping girls as young as 3 years old and brutally torturing and murdering everyone else.

Megan birth control is not covered by all provinces. Health care in general is Yes we have UHC. Not prescriptions for birth control or any prescription for that matter are paid for. We pay for that... You need either a government funded plan (disability/welfare) or a private plan either through work or yourself paying for it.



Only things like vaccines, surgery, hospital stay (in multi-patient rooms) and being able to go see a medical doctor are covered for free.



eta: Even while on welfare there is still a $5 charge for any prescription, including birth control...

God Yes Tracey! The same with Canada since we also have UHC and birth control as well. I guess that just means that all countries with UHC are just very large whore houses. Oddly enough in Canada we 'pay for women to have sex' but not the men since Viagra isn't covered under provincial insurance.



I have to ask this now: If women who use birth control are sluts, then what does that make men who use Viagra?

first off, I think it's incredibly biased to have an all-male panel on access to birth control because wtf do they know about the cost of birth control. you can get condoms for free. Second, he should absolutely be fired or at least suspended for his comments because just because a person uses birth control doesn't make them a slut. He clearly had no strong point to make against whatever it was she said so he chose to respond in typical male fashion by calling a woman a slut if you can't come up with anything better. I got upset just reading about it grrrr
