Guy is living for Free and wants girlfriend to pay him for work around the House?

Now this has me thinking how much do I owe my my DH since I'm not working right now because I'm waiting for my Visa to go through here in Canada. He helps with our baby, does the dishes and helps cook. But then again I take care of both girls. grocery shop cook and do laundry.

I couldn't deal with a guy like that though, I'd end up killing him and burying him in the back yard.. .or in the woods.

My thoughts? He was using her. I'm glad she chucked him to the curb because that attitude is a CLEAR sign that he's selfish and did NOT consider her an equal.

I haven't read the other responses yet, but your friend did exactly the right thing. Unless someone has a disability they must contribute to the household - One doesn't get paid by other residents when one does work at the residence where they live. (unless one is a child, which may explain that man's thinking...lol)

I would have said to him "pay you? - r u rent boy or something?" just to really drive home to him what a ridiculous thing to say. He was living rent free and wanted pocket money? She did well to chuck him when she did and she won't make that mistake again. Can't imagine why he is an out of work actor!!! xxx

The average Mother's Salary (I am talking if stay at home moms were paid) would be about $40,000/ a year. There are 8,760 hours in a year. That is $4.57 an hour. Is that even half of minimum wage?

If this were the case my husband owes me $200,000! LOL plus tips!

I would have done the same thing and kick his "actor" behind to the curb.

Hell, if I charged my husband for everything I do...Daycare, maid, chauffeur, doctor/nurse on call, cook, laundry mat, whore ;) and everything else.....dude...he wouldn't be able to afford me.

My Girlfriend was cautions about the relationship.
They actually were talking for almost a year before she decided to date him.
He was super in the beginning
What happen who knows.
She sat down and discussed the rules which is good .
However when he started slacking off she should have done something way sooner.

The reason her and I decided to post this topic is to hear other point of views.
See he stopped by to see her yesterday and she had hired a landscaper to do her yard.
That's when he started telling her Well if you paid me it would have been done ...
So I intervened and said o.k. user I'm going to conduct a poll and see what healthy normal people have to say about this.
I actually told him to leave he was no longer welcomed here !!!
So he left !!

I can't talked I have freeloaded off Damian forever hahaha. I did work after we moved here but I always made 1/3 of what he did so he never made me pay any rent or bills.

Ummm... I would have kicked his ass out as soon as he missed his second month of rent. I would NEVER have done his laundry OR cooked for him. You really do teach people how to treat you. Hopefully she has learned to set rules up before having somebody live with her, and known consequences that need to be followed through with if those rules are broken.

I think he is a ridiculous free loader with no goals, ambition, shame, dignity, self respect, or respect for anyone else. What a loser. Glad she got rid of him before he sucked the life out of her.

Well, unless she has the IQ of a rock, then I say she made her choice. She chose to move with in with someone she did not really know. She chose to accept his word. She chose to let him start slacking off. She chooses to make his breakfast and dinner and wash his clothes.

Then she kicked him to the curb where one puts trash.

He will find another to take him in. And she will have learned a good lesson and never do this again.

I continue to just not get it. I really don’t. We make choices and blame others for them. This situation was clearly not a problem for him, so in his mind, he did nothing wrong and there is no behavior he needs to change. She was the one who had issues with how this played out, but she was blaming him???
