This is debunking the claim that changing your profile pic to a cartoon will help pedaphiles find children. I have read an article just today saying it aids pediphiles on their search for vulnerable children on facebook. I think it is a load of bullshit...what do you think?

it's crap.... i also agree that changing statuses and profile pics does nothing to raise awareness, i just did because i LOVE the snorks and no one else put em up!

I would actually think it would make it harder for them to find children. If everyones pic is of a cartoon and not just children (who in my opinion don't need to be on facebook period) it would be harder for them to pick out who is a child and who is not.
I thoroughly enjoyed changing my profile pic to my childhood friends. In fact I couldn't pick just one I changed it four times. (Chuckie Finster (Rugrats, also my son looks just like him - the glasses), Baby Bop (Barney), Blossom (PowerPuff Girls) and Ducky ( The Land Before Time.

The whole thing is a crock. Changing your pic or adding some app to facebook or changing your status to "it's such and such week.. repost this if you care" isn't going to do anything about domestic violence or child abuse or breast cancer or any of that.

Whether it works or not it is a nice little walk down memory lane, we can all see the cartoons we grew up with and reminisce a little.
If it does do something, if it even just makes ONE person think about the plight of abused and neglected children and gets them to do something or donate something to help them it is worth it in my opinion!!!!!!!

Yeah I heard about this. I never went ahead and changed my profile pic to a cartoon one. I saw this going around Facebook and then yesterday I saw this post going around claiming that the group that created this is a bunch of pediphiles.
