As of today, I hate all Christmas songs. If I hear one more, I might throw up. I was a trooper though, listened to them all over and over all weekend, thank goodness I have 364 days until I have to put myself through that again!

My faves are: " It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas", "Santa Baby", "I'll be home for Christmas", etc, etc.
My 3 year old daughter's fave is "Jingle Bells" (especially the Batman version.LOL). I have to sing it to her every night recently, before bedtime and she dances to it. :)

I like most Christmas song, specificly old Christian hymns. But I hate it when people screw with the originals, making slow songs fast, changing around words or stuff like that. If you want a new song, write one! Don't re do the classics!

My fav cd is nsynch Christmas album or transiberian orchestra or many Christian Christmas CDs Anying josh groan sings is simply amazing!



I don't mind all the funny secular songs but they do get old if I hear them more then once!

christmas song by dave matthews is beautiful, it's definitely one of my fav's. i also love elvis' santa claus is back in town. there's also a song by nat king cole that i really like, can't remember what it's called though..oh and burl ives holly jolly christmas.

Thought of a few more: love Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Manheim Steamroller. Also love Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten (I have a version sung by a boys choir that I adore).
And I agree Christmas shoes is just too much glurge.
I heard Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelburg on Christmas station and laughed. So not Christmas music to me.

I utterly HATE The Christmas Shoes song. It's really a lousy song. It's forcing a message. Also, it's describing a rather common scam. I think it's a bunch of pap.

For religious hymns, I'm always partial to Panis Angelicus. For religious songs, it would be Oh Holy Night. For secular music, I just LOVE Rockin Around the Christmas Tree.

@Elfreda - the original "Santa Baby" was Eartha Kitt although Madonna did a version (love the first, hate the latter)

O come, o come , Emmanuel is one of my favorites. Sting's Gabriels Message, Mary did you know? and Lorena McKinnett's version of "God rest ye merry gentlemen" = love
hate: Last Christmas I gave you my heart song, Paul Mccartney song (don't remember title since I turn it off every time).
Oh and also love David Bowie and Bing Crosby!

The Little Drummer Boy... I forget who does it that I like the best (I 'think' it's 4Him) cuz I can't find that cd. :( I do have a pretty good version on the Christmas cd (a WOW one) that I have, but it's not quite the same.

Joy To The World and Go Tell It On The Mountain... both done how much church does it. ;)

What A Strange Way To Save The World... also forget who does it, but I love that song.

I ♥ anything by Charlie Pride, and petty much anything that is a classic oldie, I also love the religious songs even though I am not religious at all... God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman is my favorite to belt out.

I love most of the carols, like Joy to the World, O Holy Night, O Come Immanuel.

I don't know who sings it (Marilyn Monroe? Did she sing? Anyway, breathy female.), but "Santa Baby... I want a mink, a ring, a yaht, hurry down my chimney tonight" is one that either I find incredibly catchy and hilariously creepy, or so annoying I want to stab my brain. But this November I heard a MAN singing it, and it was soooo creepy that it has been ruined for me forever. It gets my inner feminist all riled up. :)

Holly Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives, as well as almost all of the songs from those Rankin/Bass Christmas Special from the late 60's that I loved as a child - and still do!



My all-time favorite, though, has to be the Bing Crosby/David Bowie duet of The Little Drummer boy and Peace on Earth. It moves me to tears every damned time I hear it.

Yup Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas is on my list of most hated, as is the Chipmunks one.



My favorites are instrumentals from The Nutcracker and probably the jazzy sleigh ride version. And O Holy Night. Love that one.

There aren't many I don't love. Christmas songs are awesome. My all time favourite is Ella singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. The ones I really can't stand are any rendition of the Little Drummer Boy and any rendition of I'll Have A Blue Christmas but especially that effing Porky Pig version. Why the hell would I want to hear a cartoon pig sing about his depressing and lonely Christmas? I don't get it.
