I hate to keep bringing up that veggie thread from a few days ago but I messed up supper tonight and I'm blaming it on that thread.
So, as I'm preparing supper tonight my son ask "What's for supper?" I tell him, "Mexican rice and chicken fingers". And that made me think of that stupid post. Would the OP say I was lying to him because I failed to mention that there were onions, celery, green peppers and tomatoes in the rice? Or would I get a pass because he'd actually see those veggies on his plate? I definately lied about the chicken fingers. I didn't tell him that I dredged the chicken in carrot/sweet potato puree before rolling it in whole wheat bread crumbs. And I told him they were chicken fingers when we all know chickens don't have fingers. Double lie. As all this was going through my mind, I was adding spice to the rice and put cinnamon in instead of cumin. Thankfully I noticed my error before serving the meal but I had to make a whole new pot of rice.
Silly deceitful mommies and stupid veggie posts do not go well together.
