iPhone or Blackberry?

Not so much a debate really. Hubby and I are looking at upgrading our phones and because we both run businesses, we are considering either an iPhone or Blackberry. We want to use them as a phone and for texting, but we also want email access, and like the idea of having the GPS feature as well as a number of web applications. I have had some feedback that the iPhone is hopeless for texting (which may mean it is terrible if you are wanting to do an email???), but I also know people who love their iPhones, because a lot of applications aren't available for the Blackberry?? Right now, we are leaning towards the Blackberry.....

So, I was just wondering, if you have one or the other of these (or any other suitable alternative) what YOU like about your phone (or if you don't like it, what you don't like), and why you decided to purchase the one you did :) I am researching each one separately, but figure feedback from anyone who has one is probably invaluable!! Feedback from anyone who has used both would be awesome!

I have had to change my handle again. I am the same 'old Hannah though. I can no longer access facebook at work so I have to login using my BLACKBERRY email address. I absolutely love my Blackberry. I originally had the storm 2 which is all touch screen. I recently went to the Blackberry Bold and I love it. I have Verizon and the Iphone isn't an option for us but we do have the Droid X and it is very similar. I am considering upgrading to that on my next upgrade.

Forget cute, I'm just clueless!!! I'm feeling old and technologically disabled, LOL.

We've only been looking into it for a week or so, and I have no clue, and basically we have had feedback from friends about either the iPhone or Blackberry, so that is our only experience!!!

But what you are describing sounds pretty good. Once my pelvis is back in alignment, and this pain pisses off, I might be able to go out and have a play!!! I'm hoping it will be soon so I can do my Christmas shopping too.

Jodi, your so cute! we have droid phones in Aus. I have the older model of the samsung galaxy too, it's awesome, you can email, watch sunrise, youtube, facebook, news, anything that you can google really. You also have access to google maps or where is which is handy. I would suggest going to fone zone or somewhere like that and trying them out, usually they have newer models which you can play with so you can get a feel of what's right for you.

I love my iPhone and never had any problems with it. I know at least 6 other people that have iPhones and haven't heard any complaint from them either.
Saga gets to watch her kids shows when we are driving or play letter games. I just got an iPad and LOVE IT too!

DROID is like "windows" or "a linux system". makes the computer operate.

I have a motorola droid 2. I love it.

I've heard the HTC DROID is pretty good too.

My husband and I both have a Blackberry. We love them. They are great for texting, Facebook, there are a few other messaging applications on it, as well as a number of organization applications. From the people I have spoken to who have IPhones, majority of them complain about them.

LOVE my iphone! Molly loves it as well (we have Elmo & Dora songs on it) - and it has held up well to the abuse that a 2 y/o can inflict. For me, being able to transfer all my songs on my ipod to my phone was a big plus, as well as movies/TV seasons for road trips. Once you get used to the touch screen, texting and emails are effortless.

I don't have mobile but my sister has had the iphone since it came out. She loves it but she has cracked the screen three times from dropping the phone and there was a long wait on parts and repair.

I still have a Nokia Supernova sliders so I shouldn't comment but I'd like to second Loureen's motion that everyone I know has either broken or lost or had issues with their iPhone.

No, that's not how it came across. I totally understand where you were coming from. Believe me, if it weren't for our businesses, I would be quite happy with the phone and plan I have!! It only costs me about $30 a month!!

[deleted account]

Jodi I wasn't judging if that's how it came across =] I know plenty of people who have them and they love them!

Seconding the Samsung. My husband has the prior model, the Samsung Wave, and he absolutely loves it.

Jenn, is Droid a brand? I am a bit clueless, and I honestly don't know what is available in Australia. I'll have to look into it.

Jennifer, I can understand where you are coming from, but as I said, my husband and I both run businesses, and are finding it increasingly difficult without upgrading to a smartphone of some sort, especially as my business is online retail. Besides, whatever we buy will be fully tax deductible ;)

I have neither, nor do I have a smartphone. I don't see the need for one, and as I'm on pay as you go I'm not prepared to pay a mad amount for something I'd use for texting and calling.

I think the samsung galaxy is better than both, I know heaps of people who have had problems with the iphone.
