I can wear either/or. Although, I find myself reaching for the granny's more often than I like to admit. And no, I'm not talking about REAL granny panties that go up to your neck or my Grandmother's actual underoos. lol. More like bikini style or boy shorts. Although, I do feel sexier in a thong when I'm dressed for success ;)

Or maybe you go commando?

So let's hear it ladies. Are you a thong or granny panty type of girl and why?

EDIT: Do you think your SO should have a say in what you wear if he (or she) has a preference? Like Jon prefers that I wear thongs and he jokes me about granny panties when I don't wear them.

/:) Still odd to me, yes, I can understand if you're having your period and it would stain, otherwise you shouldn't be emitting any stain-able substance.

Wow, Bonnie! Good job :) Yes, that is why. I don't like any kind of stain, let alone on my underwear. Right now, I can't even take a chance b/c my periods are coming closer together (long story). So even if I were thinking about not wearing them, which I wasn't, I wouldn't start now.

This is my take on perhaps why Christina feels better wearing liners, I could be wrong though. I think it is because she can change the liner and know that her underwear are still cleanish without having a smell or stain on them. I don't know, just my guess.

Back to this panty liner use for hygiene, isn't that what underwear are for? It's just really odd to me...

Yeah, anyway.. Look.. My mom wears liners everyday and never got a yeast infection until she hit menopause (which was just recently). My sisters BOTH wear liners everyday and never had a yeast infection and I have never had one.. I know people that go commando and get yeast infections all the time. What does that tell you. Just get over it, will you? Everyone has an opinion. I think going commando and not wearing liners is gross. If you don't, then fine. Just move on. This isn't a thread about wearing liners everyday, it's about what kind of underwear you wear or none at all.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was being really ridiculous. lol I was just unsure of what you were talking about given the lack of information here.
Not only do I not wear liners everyday but, I take my dirty underwear and rub it on public handrails when I get a chance. Happy public outings!

i use oxygenated bleach in my clothing, its so nice, it doesn't discolor clothing and it has a nice fresh smell. Plus its 100% biodegradable, it mixes to oxygen and water when mixed with water!

i hate liners, they make me feel dirty...my vagina has a need to breath

I don't wear liners b/c of my vagina.. It's just nasty to me to wear underwear w/o liners. It's a hygiene thing to me, It's my opinion. It's not like my vagina is extra juicy or anything, geez. You're being really ridiculous.

And just for that, you skeeve me out for NOT wearing liners everyday :P

*Edited to fix spelling..*

How healthy can your vagina be if you need to wear liners everyday anyhow?
Now I'm all skeeved out.

Yeah, Jenn, you are being nit-picky and it's kind of annoying me. I was giving an example based on MY opinion.

@Dana S.. If it was super unhealthy for my vag, how have I never once had any kind of vaginal infection? No smell? No itch? My gynecologists have never said anything to me about wearing them everyday (I told my midwives, who were also my gynecologists until we moved out here). The cotton-like layer on the top helps you breathe, just as if you were wearing nothing at all- just like cotton panties. That's the only kind I use b/c they don't make you sweaty, itchy, uncomfortable.. I've always had a healthy vag. Not saying that's from wearing them everyday, but it obviously hasn't hurt me.

@Loureen, if it breathes like cotton, it's just like wearing cotton panties everyday. There's not a problem with that, so why would there be such a huge problem with wearing a cottony liner?

I still don't understand why you think that pants won't sell at a second hand store. Sure maybe you don't want to buy them because you have some issues with vag juice, but that doesn't mean they won't sell. I'm just being nit-picky now. :P

But I don't use bleach in the washing either :S Never heard of it unless it was white shirts and even then I just soak in Napi San if there's tomato sauce stains. My new years resolution is now to spring clean my underwear drawer and get rid of all my ugly underwear.

Toni, I don't use enough bleach to change the color.. I would DIE if my sage green towels were bleached white :( But I do use enough to kill the germs. And we use hot water, not warm, so that helps, too (only when washing towels and socks & underwear, otherwise we use warm).

Toni - posted on 12/02/2010

I can't do bleach on towels and undies either, I have sensitive skin when it comes to washing powders and stuff like that, bleach just iritates me and gives me rashes, and it'd rob all the colour from my lovely fuscia pink, turqoise blue and orange towels - Yes as my friend said I have Austin Power's bathroom - I just love colour (and it looks amazing against the stark white).

I find liners are too sticky even the cottony ones. But it's great they work for you.

C. - posted on 12/02/2010

And yes, Jenn.. They do make them for thongs. They aren't as comfortable as my regular liners, though and you CAN feel them- it's something that took a while to get used to. I'm hoping one day they'll come out with thong liners that have the same cottony top layer of the ones I use now, b/c it would feel like wearing nothing but your underwear.

C. - posted on 12/02/2010

Panty liners USED to drive me crazy.. Until several years ago when I found the ones I currently use. The adhesive goes all the way to the ends, so they don't bunch up like some do, and they have a cottony top layer that feels like cotton underwear. Basically feels like you're wearing nothing.

I don't have guest towels, either.. But I always use bleach in our bath towels- just how my family was raised (use bleach and make sure they are dried thoroughly.) We also use bleach in our undies and socks.

I could never wear panty liners.....

first of all, I don't think they make them for thongs, second of all....and 'extra' material down *there* makes me feel like i'm wearing a diaper.

I could not wear panty liners everyday, that would drive me nutty, I hate them!

I don't see the issue as I said if you really have a problem with it don't buy second hand clothes but as long as they have been thoroughly washed they would be fine and no bodily fluids would contaminate you.

Oh and your a better person than me I have sheets end of, they are washed regularly and only clean sheets are put on guests beds but they are the same sheets I use, same towels as well, no guest towels here either.

Can't put Pine Sol in my own clothes (unless I washed them a second and third time b/c it would make me itch and break out otherwise), but it is a nice tip.

"and sometimes people's vag fluids can seep through the undies"

See.. I never think of that b/c I wear liners everyday. Again, another hygiene thing for me. If I were to give my pants to someone I know if they got too big, I wouldn't want to give them pants that my bodily fluids somehow came in contact with. I don't know.. To me, it's just gross to wear clothes and go commando. Between the sheets? Who cares? The only people that lay in my bed are my husband and myself. I have separate sheets for company- so do my sisters. We just hate the thought of sleeping in sheets where others have.. Either gone commando or worse. Which is probably why we hate to sleep at hotels, no matter how clean they appear to be.

.....Pine Sol in the laundry is your VERY best friend.

Always wash before you wear.

***TMI Post ALert***

Uh Christina, you do realise that not all undies cover all the vag, some people wear the wrong size and have flaps loose, and sometimes people's vag fluids can seep through the undies, I mean think about it, if you are wearing lacy undies they have holes in them for goodness sake!

Oh and some dirty mares don't even change their undies daily, I have known people turn them inside out that is so much worse than a commando vag!

If it bothers you that much I wouldn't buy second hand because I guarantee that people won't donate the clothes and put a note with them saying oh by the way I go commando...

***Please note I have never turned my undies inside out and I change them at least once a day (and go commando at night), I am clean***

When there are second hand pants in a store, there is no sign that says, "The crotch of these pants have been touched by a bare vagina". Oh i'm not gonna buy those then. Basically, what I am trying to say is, when you buy second hand pants or even new pants that have probably been tried on (as Nikkole pointed out), that is the risk you are taking. You don't know.

Thanks for that, Nikkole.. For ruining brand new pants for me. I think I'll just have to make my own from now on..

No, seriously, though.. A thrift store, you can never take it back. A regular store, you have so long before you can't take it back anymore (it's usually 30-60 days). So, even if someone did pull that kind of crap and take back pants that they've already worn several times, at least it wasn't for years and years that their nasty vag rubbed on the pants. (sorry for the run-on sentence.. Just too tired to actually think of a better way to word it right now).
