Nope, never been diagnosed with them but no one ever said it could be a possibility either. My periods have always been heavy and painful so when I read that I went, wow....... I wonder.

Nichole, are you talking about poly cystic ovarian syndrome? Or pcos? That's where you have cysts ion your ovaries and it can cause you to not make adequate breastmilk.
It's a legitimate condition and if you have that it's not your fault it didn't work out to breastfeed, but some women with it can make enough,I think it just takes alot of good solid help from a lactation consultant and some good tips on keeping production up.

My lactation consulted settled on slow flow and an impatient baby for my daughter. Mine was strange because they started out amazing. The nurse at the hospital who checked their weight gain after 3 days of being released, was astonished that I was exclusively breastfeeding. They both exceded their birth weight and doubled it by a month.

Dunno. I've heard all sorts of jargle since having this problem. Something about cysts on ovaries causing milk supply to not come in properly and causing strong periods that are very painful? To, fenugreek and other herbs that are supposed to boost milk production. Who knows. My boobs were absolutely freaking enormous but my mom thinks my milk supply never came in because when I stopped, my boobs didn't hurt and there was no adjustment period. I just quit cold turkey and that was that

Yup, it started off as a conversation just to understand his views. It started innocent enough and I did hold back a lot. But that's exactly why we haven't had the talk since. We've just decided to agree to disagree on that one and I won't even go there now.

Wow. That is so weird. My mom had issues with breastfeeding all 3 of us. We were never gaining adequate weight. The longest she made it was to 3 months.

I made it to 7 months with my son and 8 months with my daughter. My son gained weight fine but started refusing at 7 months. My daughter gained weight phenominally for the first 2.5 months and then it was 6 months of refusal until she started losing weight and we were both completely miserable.

I wonder if it is something that was passed down. Slow booby flow or inadequate milk supply.

Yeah, I wouldn't go there either on the Jesus issue. Whatever gives him hope and faith in day to day life in a situation like that, so be it. But that is hard, as he is ill informed :(

me too Jennifer... couldn't breastfeed. Tried, my boyfriend said if it was that painful, formula it was. My mom pressured me to keep trying. 2 weeks later I finally gave up. Seriously, the most I could tolerate was 10 minutes on each boob and afterwards he was still sucking down a full bottle?! Don't think that was working. I wonder, my mom's milk pretty much crapped out around month 4 she said she couldn't produce enough. Maybe she passed me down her boob dysfunction lol

Our argument over Jesus was a really stupid one too. I just don't understand any of his logic on his belief in Jesus. Not that I have issues with him believing in Jesus.... that's fine. But his logic is so flawed and he's never been to church or read the Bible and doesn't know anything about him.
I feel kind of bad about arguing with him about it because it did get pretty heated. But he has Chrone's disease and he believed the reason he survived his operation is because he made a deal with him. He would believe in him if he allowed him to live. He's afraid if he renenges on the deal that Jesus will let him die. He doesn't believe in God though, just Jesus. I just don't see Jesus as the type who makes bargains for souls.
He believes Jesus is magical and god-like but his views on how he came about or what he is about is rather skewed.

Blah, I hated having to use formula AT ALL. Didn't want to in the first place. I wanted to nurse my daughter for 2 years but it wasn't in the cards for us. So his idea to switch to cow's milk early was one I loathed. Felt bad enough for having to use formula.

Oh and he best know better than to argue with me on any parenting issue. lol (of course many we compromise on) but I spend way too much time on COM and researching for him to ever win those debates. Like when he tried to convince me to switch our daughter to whole milk when she was 9 months because his friend at work's wife told him that we could.

THAT wasn't going to happen.

We did compromise at 12 months, I didn't want to switch until 18 months.

My boyfriend and I had a really heated debate where I even called him names during it and he had to smoke a few times...... lmao we were talking about whether people are born good or bad. When the switch happened. I said it was in our DNA, pulp, what we were made of, that we carried with us to that 'switching point' which he says is the use of tools and well he just didn't buy it. So every once in a while I'll yell PULP and we laugh about it now but it was like a 4 hour fiasco lol

We're always arguing about actors in movies; names, who played in what movie, what other movie's they've played in.

I usually win. shhh. With the help of IMDB as Teresa mentioned or my good friend wikipedia. So the arugments are short-lived we cut right to the chase.

But we do buttheads on other silly arguments. I think we both HATE being wrong and are very adament about our opinions. He usually wins those because he is soooo stubborn! I just concede after I state my opinion and we agree to disagree. Cuz, I know they will go on FOREVER and he never will concede. lol

Now more important issues we try to arrive at a compromise.

Sorry kind of boring, I just can't think of any specific arguments right now.

Argued last night about an actor that we both thought was suppose to be dead. This guy...http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001498/
Anyway we were both sure he was dead. He played Frazier;s dad on Frazier. He was also the uncle of a guy in our area so we really thought we knew what we were talking about. Well I saw him on Hot in Cleveland last night. I texted Dh who is out of town and he said no, he's dead. We argued via text for 20 min. I dvr'd the show to show him when he gets home..lol. The more I thought about it, it was the dog on Frazier that died..lmao.
