I honestly could care less about makeup. However, where I work in a professional office (government is our client) I wear eyeliner and mascara, that's it... Even when I got married that is all I wore. My husband could care less. He likes it when I pretty myself up but he doesn't care one way or the other. He does not like too much though. Just a little. I have great complexion, so not really needed....



Makeup is friggen expensive. I am way to practical to spend a bunch money on something so asinine. IMO Not saying those that do wear it are foolish, it is just not a thing for me..



My daughter has to wear it though, she has bad acne. Got it from the sperm donor. I brought her to a dermatologist and since it was starting to scar we got her on Acutane. She has been on it for 2.5 months and WOW, what a difference. She is SO excited. She said when June comes, she is throwing all her makeup away because she won't need it anymore. She has to buy her own makeup and she realizes it is not cheap. ;) I guarentee she will not be a makeup wearer either.

I don't go to work, etc., without makeup on. Primarily eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick and mascara- I use the mineral based powder instead of real "cover up"- ... I don't like going out in public without makeup on.. if I have to get up and go quickly for an emergency or something, I wouldn't let it slow me down.. but if I can squeeze in a minute or two to throw on some eyeliner and lipstick quickly, I will! ;) Not always brand loyal with everything...except my lipstick.. been wearing L'oreal Mica since I was 16... and still the only color I like!

I don't wear make-up everyday just now and again. My husband doesn't mind either way but occasionally makes his mouth go about "why are you putting make-up on?" blah blah blah! He says I look amazing without it but I feel more confident wearing it on special occasions and some random days when I go out! I use any brand really.

I do have times where I won't wear makeup at home, but I do usually wear it daily. Now, I don't wear foundation and all that stuff, but I like mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss or chapstick. Sometimes I'll use more - but those are my essentials. Brian doesn't care either way.

I love makeup, but I don't always have time, and I'm not one that can't leave the house without makeup. I like to put it on because it makes me feel pretty :) I don't put it on if I'm not leaving the house, though. My husband notices and tells me I look pretty, but he doesn't say anything negative if I don't wear it. I think men like that are jerks and I honestly can't relate to women who put up with that. I'm not going to say anything bad about them, I just can't relate. I would tell my husband to shove it and I'd probably stop wearing it all together just to make a point. I am not really brand loyal, I have a few brands that I prefer, but I'll try others.

I just wanted to point out - that even though im a savvy mother -- i do go for quality and healthy cosmetics -- i want a product that doesn't have toxics in it, and i want it to benefit my skin as well -- makeup that doesnt make me break out or cause skin issues. If I didnt use Motives, I would use Chanele, or MAC for sure.

I am a make up person. I used to have to wear it every time I went out but as I get older the less I NEED to wear it. I was so ridiculous about it that when my husband and I first started dating, I would wake up early and brush my teeth/do my make up to avoid the bad breath and racoon look.

My husband does not care one way or the other.

I am brand loyal for certain things. I don't wear expensive make up at all.
Mascara- Maybelline falsies mascara- the best EVER
Mineral foundation - also Maybelline
Blush- Covergirl
Eye Shadow- Loreal
Any other random stuff like eyeliner, lip gloss, concealor it doesn't matter what brand.

In my business i do - not 'my' makeup as in, i didnt design it, etc. - its my makeup to promote within my business... i guess since others (avon/marykay) shared theirs on here, i will share mine -- its Motives Cosmetics by Loren Ridinger.

One of my favorite topics! LOL I am a makeup whore - I have a shit-ton of it -- partially because its my business, and the other part - hence makeup whore.... LOL Ive always loved makeup - I love makingover other ladies - its sooo much fun! Im with Loureen on this one too - Makeup is MY artform - your/my face is my canvas. With that being said - I do go without makeup (im not to that extreme anymore) I will run anywhere without makeup - as long as my face is moisturized (its so dry). But I usually wear something for advertising purposes, and for a professional look - can't be running into potential clients looking like i rolled out of bed! haha
My husband loves me no matter what. He is annoyed with the time I spend on my face - but Im usually trying different eye-shadow look/colors and like my eye makeup perfect - can't advertise that Im a makeup artist, when if my own makeup looks like sh*t!
I look at makeup as not only artwork, but a beauty enhancer as well - again with Loureen on this - it really can make eye colors pop when you use the right colors - and foundation and concealer can help with those imperfections as well. I cant promote my business, but I will help anyone who has questions on tips/colors, etc. (if that is even allowed on COM)

I am loyal to my own makeup - i have everything i need for any loook, any flaw, any skin.

I've got two lots of make-up, my everyday stuff and my stage make-up. I don't always wear it, but I do like making the effort to look good (years of dance school lectures 'image is everything dahlings'). Also had make-up technique classes so it only takes 5 mins for me to do the lot. I go through phases of loyalty, I'm a L'oreal girl at the minute, but I also have tons of Barry M eyeshadows (colours are amazing) and Avon eyeliners and brow pencils. My stage make-up is Leichener or Max Factor or Grimas greasepaint depending on the show, with tons of Barry M colours thrown on. Putting my make-up on, especially in winter, lifts my mood and makes me feel a little more human sometimes. :)

I love make-up But then again I used to work in the cosmetic industry but NO i dont wear it to sleep and my husband sees me in the morning without any makeup and he still thinks i look fab!

I dont leave the house without make up because it makes me feel great and makes me look great... I dont wear alot just my foundation , mascara and lipgloss and I'm ready to go! I think every women should wear alittle something!

Yes I wear make up everyday even if it is just lipstick and eyeliner. I don't have to wear it in the house but if I am stepping out oh yes it must be on.

My husband doesn't mind either way.

Silly if you ask me. No definitely not brand loyal.

I wear makeup when i go out with my husband or out with friends thats it lol at home who cares what i look like i usually have NO makeup on Pj's and my hairs all crazy and i have spit up all on me and food from my son spilling it on me :)

I might add I love make-up so much I'm doing my diploma in beauty therapy when my son turns two next year i did my cert 3 in make-up services at 17 and started selling nutrametics at 18 i was even organising orders and catalogs to be sent out when i was in labour

The only makeup I will wear is concealer (if i need it), a little blush if I'm super pale and maybe some mascara....but usually I wear nothing at all. I really don't even know how to put makeup on.

When I was a teen I loved all my make up all the time but I then was in cadets and you couldnt wear it there so I slowly cut back until I just stopped wearing it! lol I will get in the mood every now and then and put it on but for the most part its nothing. I live in a very hot climate and having stuff clogging up my skin isnt my idea of pretty. My husband doesnt really like makeup on me eithet saying I look better without it but then sometimes doesnt even notice!!! But I am very loyal to my two brands being Maybelline and Napoline

i appreciate the sentiment julianne, i just know i look a thousand times better with makeup. it's just fact. i can go out without makeup, and i do, i just like to look my best when i work, or if i go out, and that is definitely with makeup.

loureen--it makes me feel fake and unattractive when i use it. I was just pointing out that some of the women here were saying that it was because of horrible flaws that they used the makeup. I use to wear it, i really wore it too...lol when i was a teen i would go crazy with the black eyeliner and neon colors and made every day feel like Halloween. :D I wanted to show my creative side off. Now i just use my hair and clothing for that. I realized i didnt feel comfortable in my own skin and i was using makeup to hide behind. Now i feel better because i am my true self.:)

I only wear makeup on special occasions, and sometimes if I need to feel better.I never used to wear foundation but I found I love the Lo'real mineral one, I use that. My hubby doesn't care really.I don't have a favourite brand though.

I love make up. It's another outlet for expressing yourself just like clothes.

I'm not an everyday wearer. I like a quick lick of mascara before I leave the house but I'm not obsessive about it.

My fiancée calls it war paint. He's never expressed any major opinion one way or another past that and he knows I'd ignore him if he did.

I'm not very brand loyal. I like Maybelline mousse foundation and Avon glimmerstick eyeliners. Other than those whatever's on offer!

I don't wear obvious or dramatic make up, but always wear the basics (foundation, mascara, lip gloss) to work. If I go out at night time, I will add the eye liner and bronzer. I never wear lipstick.. don't even own one. It looks far too stark on my pale skin, so it's lip gloss all the way for me.

I guess I'm pretty brand loyal. Just because I've found some products that work with my skin and stick to them. I love Clinique foundation because it's light and shimmery. Mascara and eyeliner are Maybelline.

i am deffinaty a make up person, but have got a bit lazy with it, my m ake up bag now is the size of a pencil case and i have a very limited collection, i guess with 2 little ones whats the point of makeup when i have vomit and poo on my clothes-lol, rarely go out withput foundation, mascarra and lippy, but that is all i wear even for a specail event, (maybe some eyeshadow, and a stand out lippy) i try and keep my eyebrows neat, sometimes get my lashes tinted if i have time. my hubby likes a bit of make up but would rather none to over the top stuff, love love love revlon lippy in wine with everything, have had it since my yr 10 formal (20 years) but that is as far as my loyalty goes, i like to try nre things and brands...

My husband doesn't seem to notice one way or the other. He doesn't like the time makeup takes, even though I have it down to a 2 minute art form.

I guess I am a natural makeup person. I get really bad dark circles that need covering and I have the lightest eyebrows and my lashes are non-existent without mascara. So I just take a couple of minutes to improve these things before I step out and sometimes even if I don't leave the house.

For evenings out I go total evening glamour because really...how often do we get to do that? It's just good fun and one of the reasons I'm glad to be female.

I am not at all brand loyal for most things, but I do love me some Bare Minerals foundation. It just works nicely with my skin. Everything is else is whatever's on sale in the right colours.

Make up is so much fun , I love playing with different looks and creating dramatic eyes .

Day to day I wear mascara and lip balm and a high SPF mineral powder that isn't visible just blots out skin blotches for a night out I go a little more dramatic , does Jamie care ? no not really , he loves me regardless .

Julianne I just want to point out wearing makeup isn't always about being "fake " or feeling" unattractive" for many women its also a creative outlet and while some use it to cover others use it to enhance features beautiful eye colors can pop with certain shades of eyeshadow .

As for brands I love benefit , MAC , OPI .

Christina, I am thinking there are some women out there who have never shown their husband their true self (au naturel) and so their man only knows how they look with makeup and then they get married and well they get a surprise I guess. But really, beauty should be more of within and no one should only get married for how a person looks when they go out on dates.

That is not true at all! how could you call yourself scary! oh my, nature is beautiful and you are part of that! Any flaws you have make you who you are, embrace them and love each one. If you feel beautiful within it radiates outward. If you feel your appearance is ugly, something on the inside is broken. Fix that and you will be happy in your skin.

I wear makeup to work, and for special occasions...but that's it. I'm semi brand loyal. I LOVE Almay...but I can't always afford their products...particularly if I run out of everything at once...
My hubby doesn't care whether or not I wear it, and has even suggested that he likes me better without it...even if he was only saying that to make me feel good...it makes me very happy!

I tend to feel like less of a mess if I wear it. Somedays when I'm feeling shitty, even if I don't have to go anywhere I'll put some on.

I always wear it to auditions, if I'm going to a big public place (except the local market, they can see my ugly face), if I go to dinner or if someone is coming over.

I'm a MAC girl cause it really is best for stage and I got hooked on it in theatre school. It also tends to look best of camera, for auditions and the like. I do like Loreal mascara, I've found that so many make up artists, who have access to expensive frebees, always say the cheap Loreal stuff is the best out there. I also like Bath and Body Works tinted lip gloss and Aveda's turmaline under eye stuff (man it makes bags and lines look better, some makeup lady put it on me when I did a Whiska's commercial and I got hooked too).

My fiance likes me without make up. However, his favourite look is when I'm not wearing makeup, just came home from the gym/a run and I'm all flushed and sweaty. I figure Mac's blush will do for when I'm having a lazy day.

I use Mary Kay too. I only just bought the foundation though, I have used the skin care range for a while because my skin is SO SHIT without it. I tried ProActiv and it killed my lips.

Well, I LOVE my makeup. I have 4 cases of all different things (shadows, eye/lip liners, foundation, powder, concealer, some mascara..) Anyway, I HAVE to have makeup on when I step out of the house. Even if it's just basic makeup (which for me, consists of tinted moisturizer, concealer, powder, blush, brow bone highlighter, eyebrow pencil and mascara).



I used to wear it in the house, but these last several months, I just don't care.



Hubby actually prefers me w/o, but he does like a little bit of makeup, too.. He hates anything over-the-top, though (heavy eyeshadow, lipstick, heavy blush or mascara, heavy drawn-on eyebrows, foundation so thick you could scrape it off with your nail and see layers upon layers of gunk..)



I don't wear makeup to bed. Hubby says I'm beautiful w/o makeup, so to me, there's no need (unless I'm feeling a little down and need a boost to get in the mood- then I'll whip out the makeup before bed.)



For most things, I am brand loyal. I love my Maybelline mascara. I CAN'T beat Avon's eyebrow pencil.. Every other eyebrow pencil I've tried that says it's dark brown, is more ORANGE than anything- but not my beloved Avon's :) I stock up when it goes on sale.



Oh, and I just wanted to say that any man that asks his wife to wear makeup ALL THE TIME (in bed or not) is scum. I'm sorry, but if you didn't like to look at them in their natural state, why'd you marry them in the first place?

I have lots of make up but am too lazy to use it except if we're going out at night. My husband doesn't care, mainly he gets up me for wearing it because he says my skin gets worse when I go through periods of wearing it a lot which counteracts the point of wearing it. He's the one who reminds me to wash it off before bed too hahaha. I'm not brand loyal, I'm subject to advertising! If a brand brings out something new I'll try it or sometimes stick with my favourite. Partners LIKING women who wear make up? Never heard of it TBH.

I used to wear crazy bright fun (think MAC displays) makeup allll the time, I loved it! Now that I stay home most of the time I barely wear make up. Im pretty lucky to be able get away most of the time with no make up,and i'm not brand loyal, lol.

I rarely wear make up. I own it and wear it when I go out at night, or to a job interview or am getting dressed up. The only thing I wear daily is lip balm, but it is more of a moisturiser than a gloss, my lips dry out a lot. I've gone both routes, didn't own any makeup except a dried up tube of concealer until I was about 18 and spent a couple of years wearing makeup everyday to work when I was about 27. I used to wear it every day because I thought I had bad skin, of course wearing makeup just made it worse so I stopped and invested in some good quality cleansers and moisturisers and went back to no make up. I'm not brand loyal, but I am ethical and have specific requirements when purchasing makeup, natural ingredients, mineral powders, no animal testing etc.

As for my partner, I know he prefers me without makeup. He likes women natural looking. When we met, I was a 'filthy hippy', didn't shave/wax (anywhere), no makeup, no commercial antiperspirants or deodorants (I made my own out or bought all natural products) etc etc. He loved me all the more. He doesn't mind when I wear makeup, he just thinks I don't need it to look beautiful, but he does understand that I use mineral powder to even out my skin tone and eyeliner/ mascara/shadow to highlight my eyes etc. Like someone else said, I know he doesn't like that it takes me longer to get ready when I do wear it. He is also always the first to point out women in public who have gone too far with wearing too much makeup or badly dyed hair etc.

I use to wear makeup every day when I went to school/college/work. Now I only wear it when I know I am going out for an extended period of time (at least a few hours). If I am just going out to drop my older son off at school and pick him later on and have nothing else planned, I won't.
My husband is fine with me either way. He tells me I look good no matter how I look...sometimes that makes me wonder lol. I have to agree with Krista, if a man requests his woman to wear makeup all the time even to bed, he deserves a kick in the nads. I can not wear it to bed. The only time I have in the past was when I was out really late and maybe drank a bit too much.
I use to be brand loyal to mostly Mabeline products, but ever since I started Avon over a year ago, after try many products, I noticed that most of the stuff I use is good enough for me and I can get it cheap or sometimes even free if my sales cover the costs :-).

I love makeup, while I was on mat leave I looked forward to putting it on for coffee dates with the girls. I just find it fun, and I have no problem leaving the house without it. I wear it pretty much every day to work and I'm pretty brand loyal - MAC or Lise Watier. My partner thinks I look good with or without, but since he's seen me without so much, if wear a lot of eye make-up (which I love to do if we go out for the night, been a loooong while since that happened) its all he sees and isn't really a fan. If he preferred me with makeup, I wouldn't take offense, but if he expected me to wear it all the time, he'd get a kick in the ass. Mostly, he finds it annoying when I do wear it because it takes me that extra 10 minutes to get out of the house.

i wear makeup sometimes..... very light makeup, i line my eyes highlight the brow, slap some light blush on and throw some gloss on (i like my lip color so i rarely wear lipstick, and i was blessed with beautiful lashes so i don't do mascara) and all of that is usually for "dress-up" occassions. i would wear a foundation but haven't found one i like.... and i am not at all brand loyal, although i do prefer mineral makeup
and my hubby likes the sans makeup look the best

I only wear makeup when going out for special occasions like parties. Even then I only wear eyeliner on the top, mascara, and lipstick. I never wear foundation, blush, or face powders at all...dont' even own them. I am a chapstick/lip gloss whore though.



edit: not brand loyal. I buy based on sale price.

@Caitlin- What kind of concealer do you use?

I wear makeup everytime I go out. I feel naked without it lol. I have light freckles on my face, but I hate them. (Everyone else I talk to loves them & says their cute haha. I don't think so!) But, anyway, I think I have a tendency to go overboard on the foundation trying to cover up my freckles & lately I've been trying to back off on the makeup a little bit. I LOVE mascara. I look tired & blah without it. I use all kinds of brands: Bare Minerals, Mary Kay, Maybelline, etc. My husband thinks I look a lot better without so much makeup "piled on."
