Does anyone else find the intellect of these employees SEVERELY lacking? The child does not walk, run or jump. There would be none of the bacteria on her feet that an older person would have. Had it been me, I would have called them all neanderthals.

This summer alone my son who is 23 months old has lost 3 pairs of shoes and we have lost probably over a dozen pairs of socks. Everytime we go somewhere I have to constantly check his feet and usually within 10 minutes of getting somewhere I will look down and sure enough he is wearing one shoe and then we have to go search the parts of the store we have already been through to find the damn thing. Heck I am lucky if the kid keeps his pants on...yeah there are many times when I have had to stop in a store to gather up his pants and his pullups because he has stripped down. So I guess I should avoid Burger King from now on.

I can kind of understand being properly attired. Extending that to infants is nuts. BUT!!! This brings me back to my "Death by flipflops" message. LOL your properly clothed foot is cleaner than the bottom of your shoe - therefore - employees should never wear their street shoes into the restaurant. Not barefoot either (equipment & knives!) lol the world is funny funny place!

My mom was booted out of a Dairy Queen (in 1974) when I was a babe for the same reason. This is nothing new. This Law is nothing new and it is at the descression of the establishment. It's sad when people take "the law" to far. But, if they don't enforce it and a health inspector walks in, they get repremanded, not the mom.

Sorry Gals.

A mom should put some sort of foot wear on their babe or carry it in a daiper bag just in case. I do, I know the rules.

I saw this a while ago and couldn't believe how crazy it was! I mean, come on....a baby?! That has to be an issue of no common sense. My rule of thumb always was that if they couldn't walk yet, shoes were optional. If they can walk, don't go in public without shoes because then it's just tacky! =)

The one I buy is a Dettol brand. Not sure if you have it there...... you just squeeze a little onto your hands and rub them together and they are dry in seconds.

Sharon, we are off on holidays on Friday, and part of it we are doing a bit of 4WD, and I bought the hand sanitisers to take with me (the ones you don't need water for). And I always keep one in the car just in case - half the time the public facilities are disgusting.

Edited to add: I even have handbag sized ones. Half the facilities on the road in this country are holes in the ground!!

Quoting Lee-Ann:

Either the workers really have no common sense, or, due to the way the organisation is run with all orders and decisions being made from the top down therefore no power or freedom of initiative being given to the frontline staff, they often end up riding by the book and no longer using personal thought or assessment of situations basically becoming autonomous workers. I mean everything is scripted for them, they are not required to think heavily. Or do i just need to go to bed and lay off the late night hot beverages..............:)

Lee-Ann, they often have no common sense.  We have a business which employe a number of people, and they know the ropes.  We have an assistant manager, and about 2 weeks ago, that assistant manager made some decisions not to follow our "rules" (and our guidelines are based on experience).  He had choices, he had the power to make the decisions.  We are now in the midst of a liability claim.  But then, some, it is just the way the organisation is run.  I love it when I order breakfast from McD's and I get eggshell mixed in, that's just delightful :)

Good point Sharon. But I have a feeling here they have to wear socks......but there is never anyone there policing it.

I saw this in the news awhile back and I have to say this takes stupid to a whole new level. I don't even know what to say about it. I just can not believe that a baby got kicked out of Burger King for not wearing shoes. When will people learn to use the brains that the good lord gave them! ugghh. . this kind of story makes me so frustrated. . all I can think of is all the stupid people in the world that we have to create warnings to protect because they are too stupid not to iron a shirt while wearing it. And yet they still find away to meld with society and cause issues. . . o.k., I'm done now.

crazy!!! my son often takes his shoes off in public...like today at the grocery store for example...there's very little I can do about it unless I want to be putting his shoes on every three minutes...My family and I went to an upscale Italian restaurant for my dad's birthday last night...he took his shoes off there also...No one kicked us out...I don't understand this at all...
