Dead Celeb Status and Hollywood Undead are both bands I would listen to on my player. I like "my black dahlia" too!
"someone I once knew" reminds me of "beautiful" by Christina Aguilara, which I happen to also like :0)
I know he's a blonde punk - Eminem - "lose yourself" and "superman" are two that I can move to.
I have the Once soundtrack and O'Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack...I love how Once is soppy in love and angry rejected....and the style issss different. Cute movie too.

O'Brother...I love how the songs are performed as if it really were - what- 1910? Really folksy, sad and happy soundtrack. Great movie too.
Beyonce' "Irreplacable" - makes me laugh. Not that I'd ever have to pack his bags...he'd never leave! I'd have to pack and go..lol!
There aren't many bands/artists that I like everything by...I can't even think of one right now...

"Face Down" oooohhhh....I'd hate to see a woman in this position and settle for it.

"Nice Shot" - I'd dedicate to any politician any day!
"Travelers Lantern" a twangy Dwight Yoakum song that reminds me of yesteryear...I like how he's serious about his style, but doesnt take himself seriously...
"I Can Only Imagine"...Christian pop? I love it though...I do believe there is a God, and I wonder what I'd do?
"Bodies" one of my faves to scream out in the car! lol! My middle daughter and I "performed" this song at my oldest daughter's graduation party! We are a sad pair!

Watching her and listening to her sing gives me goosebumps!



Bjork is a HUGE inspiration / influence for me. I have been listening to her music since.. since I can remember. I can say "I recommend _______" whatever song but that list would just include ALL of her songs. I know her music is very much an acquired taste but even abstract art deserves to be respected by all artists and Bjork is about as beautiful as it comes to naturally created artful beauty.

Oh PS Jeannette you should check out Undead by Hollywood Undead - it's a completely different tone of song and I also find it makes me think - I didn't post it though because it is quite offensive and uses very foul language / derogatory terms and I just don't wanna open that can of worms lol

I agree Dana that music can be interpreted - I think the Young song is kinda like "Youth Of The Nation" song by POD (Payable On Death - a 'rap' band with Christian undertones) - a song from the youth side speaking about the world.

There are plenty of songs from Three Days Grace, Finger Eleven and The Tea Party that I have a personal attachment too because of various reasons.



I think some of the most amazing songs are from people I never would have suspected. And granted there are quite a few songs who are SANG by certain people but not actually written by them - that quite bothers me :(

Music, I LOVE music. It's my life. I love all kinds of music. My husband is a musician so I've spent the last 13 yrs of my life being imersed in music, spending 4 nights a week at clubs, watching him play. Now that we have a child it's all slowed down some and I miss it horribly.



As far as the song, Young, goes. I took it as children born into broken, messed up homes. At first I thought it was about children being born into this world of negativity, having to take on different causes, missing a peaceful world that should belong to them. I guess it depends on your view of things. What's closest to your heart.



Of course, I could be full of shit, I'm more on the instrumental side of things rather than lyrical.

That particular song reminds me of the song 'Imagine' by John Lennon for some reason.

'Let There Be Peace on Earth' has been one of my faves for years...particularly for the line: Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

Which is why I also like 'Man in the Mirror' for the line: I'm looking at the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways.

These are two thought provoking songs for me. I love music...I have been wanting to start a music topic for some time, but I am afraid of how strange my tastes are. My entire family loves music. We all own a Zune, save my son, he hasn't saved up for one yet...and we listen to our music constantly.

It affects me greatly. I work outside, so does my husband, and we listen to music (or he'll listen to podcasts) all day long.

When I hear Norah Jones sing 'Come Away With Me' it takes all I have not to jump in the vehicle, pick up my husband, and run away to a romatic mountain top! lol!

When I hear 'Capital G' by NIN, I feel vindicated...like yeah, you effer!!!! I love that song!

Murder By Death and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are two that crack me up regularly. Have you heard any of their music? omg...they are too funny! I'll post lyrics to one of each after this post.

Believe it or not, I don't think Britney Spears is a musical prodigy, but I like her new one 'Circus'...and another fave...Fifty Cent 'It's Your Birthday'...they both get me moving.

I listen to a lot of Clutch..for the craziness, the grind, the politics, the humor...10,0000 maniacs and 10001110001 robot hive (the numbers may be a bit mixed) is funny to me. I got my husband a custom t-shirt that says Ribonucleic Acid Freakout because he thinks Clutch should be promoted more, and he loves that line! lol!

We enjoy concerts too....I took my oldest to a Norah Jones, Linkin Park Revolution...my husband surprised me with a Clutch concert.
