Do you read Neil Gaiman to your kids? Have you heard him read? What do you think of him?
Crazy Hair
I loved this book from the moment I saw it. The art is beautiful and I really liked the way things were worded. My son loved and repeated certain parts to himself, like, "twisting, tangling trails and loops. Treasure chests and pirate sloops.."
The Graveyard Book
I checked the audio book out from the library and have listened to it with my son and on my own. I worried it wouldn't be the right book for me when I first started listening to it, because it starts with a man killing a family, but the way the scene was described was so clever and appropriate for a child to hear. The event was moved past quickly and well and the rest of the book was amazing. I really liked it. I almost wish it had gone on longer.
Neil Gaiman read this book himself and his voice is just incredible. I got another book of his on audiobook and it was read by someone else and it just wasn't the same.
Mirror Mask
I went to the theatre to see this movie and IMO it was eye candy. I found it boring. After I went to see it, I was ready to dismiss Neil Gaiman and move on with my life. Luckily one of my friends let me borrow their copy of Coraline and I read it and it restored my faith in Gaiman.
