No, all babies are not cute. My mother thinks this is horrible, but I think most newborns look like grumpy old men, and some babies just don't get cute til they hit the toddler stage.

I thought my son was perfect but looking back on pictures I realized he really wasn't....well he was BUT he looked like he had gone 10 rounds in a boxing match.

I can honestly say I have seen an ugly baby. And let's face it most newborns look like angry old men. Then after a week or so they lose that and become so so sweet.

I myself can not say every single baby under a month or two old are cute, some look like old men , some have baby acne, and some just need to fill out! but remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and every mom I know thinks that their baby is adorable!!! and that is the way it is .

All babies are adorable, in some way or another. BUT that doesn't mean they are always good looking. My one cousin's baby actually creeps me out.

My sister was an ugly baby! All hairy and squished up looking for months at a time...She grew into a beautiful child and a gorgeous woman. But yea, there are some uuuuuhhhhhhgleh babies out there. :/

I think most newborns look a bit stange. My own baby was no exception to that rule. I thought he was adorable and wonderful, but a little bit strange.

No. I've heard other people say there's no such thing as an ugly baby, but I have seen some ugly babies! Of course, I would never tell their parents I thought they were ugly! I remember this one little girl that I had in nursery years ago. She was just not very attractive. I think my reaction the first time I saw her was "yikes!" In my head of course, not outloud, lol! But, she was just so sweet, that she kind of grew on you, and after a while, she became cute, because her personality was so cute.
But yes, I have seen some rather homely babies. I certainly hope no one ever thinks that about my babies though!!!

I guess there are ugly babies out there, I actually haven't seen one in person though. Sometimes I think what people call fugly, I actually see as cute, in an odd way. But, my baby (not so much a baby anymore at two...) is cute. I always tell him he has a face that every mother can love. ;)

I use to work in a bar and for some reason men would hit on me and then show me pictures of their baby... kinda creepy i know.... A lot of the time the babies... weren't the cutiest? I'm trying to be nice here.... I wouldn't know what to say when they said: "this is my little angel, isn't she the cutiest?" So I would answer: "She looks just like her father!" and i would laugh on the inside a little bit.

well i think all babies are cute..maybe not in photos but in real life..the sounds, the way they move..how small their hands and feet are..cute cute cute!!! I've never seen a baby and gone ewwww or arghhh but maybe I'm just clucky:p

Ah we talking about newborns or older babies?
Let's be honest, not many newborns are cute. And you wouldn't either if you'd just been squeezed through a hole that small! My baby wasn't actually that bad. And yes, I am biased but someone did say to me "Wow, how did you manage to have a baby who doesn't look like an old man!?" Ah, what a compliment! Lol.
As for older babies, YES, there are quite a few who aren't cute. It's true. I work with babies, I know. I've known a few Benjamin Button lookalikes.

haha! I've seen a few and gone 'oooh' in my head, but after you spend a few minutes with any baby, they all manage to become cute and lovable- no matter what they look like, It must be a mother thing :-)

Hell no.

My husband has a friend who had a baby - it was fugly. It looked like an ugly monkey baby and I think monkey babies are cute. This baby looked like an ugly monkey baby.

It was covered in hair. Had a mishapen head and tiny holes for eyes and it was not deformed in any way. It grew up to be an ugly kid too. Hairy, dark hair, funny shaped head, ... poor thing.

I wish we still one of the baby pictures but after we moved away, I threw it out because it gave me the creeps. I NEVER said anything to the mom about how fugly the baby was/is, its not the kids fault, and there is always plastic surgery.

When my daughter was born I thought she was the most beautiful baby in the world, now I look back at photo's and realise how strange looking she was, she was not a cute newborn! Of course she is beautiful now, in my eyes anyway! I have a friend who has the most incredibly gorgeous babies, they are so dam cute (the kind of babies on the huggies ads!), but all 3 of them once they reached 12-24 months have grown out of their looks and are very plain looking now. Strange.

NO WAY! I've seen some ugly ass kids in my time. I saw this one baby (who had hideous parents) who was absolutely atrocious, his head was all lumpy and his face was pushed together like a pug dog's... the parents were like "Oooh isn't our son so cute!" Seriously, I can't lie. I just smiled and said "Well he certainly is unique!" hahahaha

Bahaha I just saw the homeliest baby ever!

It was this little boy, who had three tufts of red hair (one tuft on each side, and then a tuft on top). He was just so...unfortunate looking. REALLY round head, bug eyed and sticky-outie ears.

You know those "so easy a caveman can do it" commercials? Well picture those men as a little baby girl, and you have the "cave baby" o_0 lmao



That being said, all babies are precious, regardless if they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I've seen an ugly baby - but now that she's almost 3 she's so adorable! It's really weird because she was the oddest looking little creature up until she was about a year old, then she actually started to look like a human... Of course, I told the mother that the baby was cute, but I did it to spare her feelings!

No not all babies are cute. I even make comments to my family and friends about my kids.

Like I hope my son grows into his head. He's got a huge noggin and he's so lean. It just looks a little off. lol

Our pre-teen is all gangly but that will pass as she grows.

I see our one daughters huge ears, poor kid inherited those from her dad's side. Her aunt has huge ears too, I just hope she grows into them, unlike her aunt who is smaller than me.

Our youngest just looked strange as a smaller baby, all her hair was on top of her head. Like a reversed bald spot on an old person. lol

It's probably because I am honest with myself about my kids that I can point out ugly kids. Whether people want to admit it or not, some babies and kids are down right ugly. It's not their fault either, hopefully they grow out of it. =/ Like Katherine said, ugly duckling.

My girls were cute to me when they were born, but looking back on the pictures after all the overwhelming hormones and emotions died down.... they actually looked like scrawny, little aliens.... Completely precious and miraculous at birth? Yes. Cute? No... not til they had gained a couple of pounds.

I was in a waiting room with a toddler. Another child, younger, walked near and the toddler in my care said, "Ohh can I pet it?"
The younger child did look very much like the chimps we'd seen at the zoo the day prior. Now, while I think chimps are very cute, the look didn't work on this youngester.
The mother was most offended. She picked her child up (not sure on gender) and huffed off.
I said to the child with me, "Maybe next time."
Yah, some kids are not cute, but maybe they grow to be nice looking adults?

In L&D we refer to them as FLK's...Funny Looking Kids.

I guess that's where the expression " A face only a mother could love" comes from. And that, to me, is what matters most - no matter what they look like to the rest of the world, their momma (should) always think they are beautiful. Often times, the fugliest babies turn into the most beautiful adults.

I have seen some not so cute babies before. But they always get cuter. My cousins had some questionable babies when they were born but now that they are older they are really cute. Has anyone seen Josie Duggar? I don't think she was very cute but now that she is older I can see some cuteness.

Not all babies are cute, but you can't expect them to be. They come out all squishy-faced and swollen. On occasion I'll see a newborn that is out-of-this-world adorable, but it's rare... to me newborns aren't really that cute, just tiny little bundles that you want to hold and cuddle, hehe. My daughter wasn't that cute for awhile to be honest, it took her a couple months to grow into her looks, and then she started smiling and her smile fit her face and made her adorable! Same happened with me, I wasn't a cute baby at all until I was about 2, then my cuteness escaped me :P I think some kids just need to grow into their features. There was a baby in my daughter's playgroup who was almost downright ugly, her head was gigantic and she had a little baldy-baby-mullet and small eyes... I didn't see her for a year and I just saw her (She's 3 now) and she is the most beautiful little girl.

No...all babies are not cute...I saw a baby at the pool this summer; her mother was pregnant, and I sware if I had already given birth to a child that ugly, I would never have another!

I think MANY infants are funny looking for the first couple weeks of life; one of mine was squish-faced and bruised, etc...but after they get out of that neonate stage, I think most of them do get pretty cute...certainly NOT all tho...

I was browsing my local hospitals website trying to find an acquaintances baby once, with my mother. We found a baby that looked like Sloth, no joke. It was terrible. I laughed my ass off though, I won't lie. I'm sure his head will look normal eventually. ;x



But, for the most part babies look the same to me. still, occassionally you get one that's super funny looking.

no not all babies are cute, my first was the most beautiful child i have ever seen, lol, and then came my last one lucas. he was fugly!! he would've been cute i guess if he didn't have a GINORMOUS red birthmark all over his face. he was all beat up, bruised, and completely RED. if he wasn't so red and icky he would've been adorable, lol! he still has the red birthmark, it has just faded a bit, but i get more compliments on him than i did with my other 2. everybody everywhere has to stop me and tell me how cute he is. i think the glasses do it, hehe!

My Josh was one of the not-so-cute babies lol. I remeber thinking he looked slightly demonic when I first held him (His eyes looked pure black and he was purple-greyish in colour). He has grown into the cutest little guy now though and From about 10 weeks old we were CONSTANTLY being stopped by strangers in the street so they could coo over him and tell us how beautiful he is.

No way. Some babies just aren't cute. That's a fact.
When Riley was born we heard this all the time "everyone says babies are cute, most aren't, but HE is." lol
I had a grandma in the grocery store tell me when he was 6 weeks old that none of her grandchildren were "pleasant" to look at when they were born!!!
Some babies just look too mis-proportioned. Big HUGE head on a small body. Or they looked all scrunched up even after weeks out of that birth canal.

The worst is when someone brings in a new baby to playgroup etc. and they have the car seat all covered up. When you pull back the covers and see a "not so pretty baby" you have to find something to say to hide the shock. I usually go with "Oh... that's a cute outfit/hat/blanket" etc.

Nope, sorry.. Not all babies are cute. There are some gremlin-lookin' babies.. Some that resemble Chucky.. Some that just look downright strange.



If a person is showing off their baby and it's not the cutest baby I've seen.. I'll tell them how precious the baby looks (sometimes I say that even if the baby is cute- but that's usually my go-to for not-so-cute babies). Or I'll comment on the few features that I think are adorable or something. But no, not all babies are cute. Precious and innocent, yes- but not always cute.

My children were called little dolls, model babys all sorts.To me of course they were the most gorgeous children in the world.I have never seen a baby that wasnt cute..many would have little scrunched up faces etc but once the are a few mths are dotes.My children had no scrunched up faces and had perfect defined features as the midwife and surgery staff said lol.I thought my first was odd with her swollen head from a natural birth lol.

My friends baby after birth looking back wasnt the most beautiful baby i have seen as a newborn but a few weeks later my gosh she would melt your heart.I hate when in a group and all the attention is on my daughters and how beautiful they are..its like saying the rest aren't, thats just rude to me..i feel very embarrassed in that moment.I would never do that in a group of children/babys.

Children and babys are all wonderful and beautiful or handsome, to there parents especially there they apple of there eye.To much is on looks, weight height etc these days and i think theres no need for it..what you feel in our own mind should always stay there.If you think a child is beautiful etc let it be said if only the parents are there not in a group of parents with there children who aren't getting the same attention for there young ones.If you think a child isnt cute my gosh never let that be said lol:-)

Nope not all babies are cute. They are adorable because they're tiny and new, but they're certainly not always good-looking. When I was pregnant I used to wonder if I would even be able to tell if my child was not cute (since obviously I would love them to bits anyway). Turns out I got a cute one (and that's not just the bias Mumma talking lol), but I think I would still know if she wasn't.

I will go out on a limb and say that I've seen plenty of strange-looking babies (I won't call them ugly). Some of them grow out of it, some don't. The example that springs to mind right now is this baby girl I know.. both parents are decent-looking, but the baby is exactly like her father, and in a baby girl it's just not a good mix.

That's so weird, I was thinking this to myself the other day!!
In all honesty, no, I don't think all babies are cute. *ducks for cover*
Not to say that I've ever really seen an ''ugly'' baby, I do think most babies are just inherently cute, it's just some aren't as cute as others!

Me and my friend used to discuss what would happen if one of us had a baby that the other thought was ''ugly'' whether we would say anything or not!

I think also that your own babies are ALWAYS going to be the cutest babies to you. :)
