I remember reading about them years ago and always meant to get there. I LOVE a good burger. I just can't eat THAT much meat very often.

Now I read their 550lb+ spokesperson has passed away. Seemingly unconnected to his extreme weight. Pneumonia after the flu.

Just thought of some other deep-fried goodies the Texas state fair has produced over the years:

Deep-fried Jelly Beans
Deep-fried Bacon
Deep-fried Peaches (with cream)
Deep-fried Pickles

Us Texans loves us some lard, yuppar. :P

I'm not coming back to this thread, I now want a greasy burger from my local take away - not good, LOL.......

Mmmmmmm deep fried Mars Bars.......I can feel my heart seizing up already!!

I was going to go do my shopping, but I think I had better eat something first, or these terrible cravings will force me to deviate from my list.

Shannen, the new McDonalds ads for the "Little Bit Fancy" Burgers make me drool. I haven't acted on it at all yet, but I AM thinking I might think about indulging on Saturday night so I don't have to cook dinner following Taylah's birthday party on Saturday afternoon.....

But I know, I'll get there, I'll order one of those new gourmet burgers and it won't look anything like on the ad, LOL.

that's so foul (or beef hhaha). Do you guy have any "healthy" burgers there. Even our McDonalds burgers seem less gad for you than any american burger i've seen. Ours are loaded with salad and don't have all that grease dripping down just the sight of the grease makes me feel sick.

We have burgers every friday night mine has 100g (3.5oz) meat cooked on a flame grill not the kind that collect fat, 1small slice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, beetroot and bbq sause.

As we are looking into moving to CT I'm worried I wont be able to have a nice burger because i love them.

There's something kind of sick about glorifying unhealthy eating that much. I mean, we all eat things that are bad for us, but this is kind of ridiculous. It seems like they go out of their way to make things as unhealthy as possible...I just think that comes from a really sick place. There's nothing funny about eating yourself to death.

Our Family of 5 could live off the Zeus burger for a week. Why someone thought that producing that was going to be a good idea baffles me.

[deleted account]

The Atlas 3lb one looks good ... I'm sure me and Jay could finish that off in 45 mins no problem!

[deleted account]

The burgers look a bit greasy. Ever since nearly throwing up a cheap McDs Cheeseburger I don't do greasy burgers!

Now if it's a decent quality burger, that would be a different matter ... even better make the quadruple with nice lean steak ... even better top it with chilli....

I like meat, but I can't eat that much. I would like to see how the heck someone could bite into the triple or quadruple bypass burger.

[deleted account]

The hungry jacks burger mad me gag slightly. Dinner in our house right now it so much more appealing than any of those gross looking burgers. And oh how i love a good burger.
The salty sugar thing i get when pregnant i craved Macca's chipd dipped in their soft serve kinda makes me want it now.

I think in this case, they were just emphasising that the bun has sugar in it. Normally, they wouldn't even mention the sugar, it's just a well known fact :)

hahahaha gotcha Jodi - now I REALLY get it.

HERE - sugared means sugar is on top. generally.

[deleted account]

I should add that the diet in the coke was only cuz I don't like regular coke... NOT the 'diet' factor. lol

[deleted account]

I used to eat fries and drink diet coke during PMS as a teen..... It WAS seasoned curly fries and a chocolate shake from Jack-in-the-Box til they got rid of it here.... Sweet and salty goodness. :)

Because sugar and salt are an addcitive combination , people do it all the time , It is why people NEED a coke with their fries people get hooked it's like crack .

Sharon, all the buns those fast food places have for their burgers contain sugar, that's what that means. Like, as if putting a bun with no sugar on something like that is really going to make a difference........ it would be the equivalent of ordering one of those burgers with a diet coke - totally pointless, LOL.

ok it wasn't banned but there was a huge uproar .
A fast food chain's sale of a 4520-kilojoule hamburger is irresponsible and a sign the industry is ignoring health warnings about obesity, experts say.

TV commercials are promoting the Hungry Jack's Quad Stack Burger, which contains four beef patties, four slices of cheese, two rashers of bacon, barbecue sauce and two sugared buns.

It contains 71g of fat, 34.7g of saturated fat, 1930 milligrams of sodium and 74.8g protein.

The burger, which sells for $5.95, has no salad and the calorie content equates to more than half a woman's recommended daily energy intake and almost one-third of a man's.

I don't think they're supposed to appeal to fat people. They're just supposed to appeal peoples' gluttony. which I experience bouts of now and then - but yeah - those burgers don't really appeal to me either.

Ok. I'm a fat person but those burgers made me want to hurl. That is just way too much. I would rather fix my own on the grill than eat one of those nasty things.
