I don't think any one thinks its wrong she has so many kids - I think its wrong she is/was living on welfare at the time.

I'll offer an alternative view just because I can. I don't think it is wrong for parents to have that many children. I think the doctors were wrong for getting her pregnant again wothout considering the welfare of all the children involved (future and existing).

Is she a bad mother? I don't believe there is any evidence of that. All the children are looked after and their needs are being met. She still has the children even though she had had more scrutiny than the average mother. If there was any abuse they would have been taken by now.

If everyones lifestyle and attitude had to meet with the approval of everyone else in sociecty then no more children would ever come into the world. I try to reserve judgement on her character because I have never met the woman. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say she is not a bad parent even though I dissaprove of her choices.

I seriously think she is disgusting and should not be allowed to have her children. She purposely had 8 embryos implanted into her and "didn't think all eight would take"

First off who implants 8 embryos into a single mother who already has 6 kids?? I mean come on she was always on welfare and already couldn't take care of her 6 children that she already had. She lived with her mom and 6 children in a house that was in default and was going to be taken away. After she has the children she says that she regrets having so many. I mean what did you expect??

She just wanted attention and now has it. I despise her and everything that she is.

On another note. I like the duggers. It just shows that there are people in this world that still have happy helping families that care not only about themselves but other people too. The are so happy and friendly all of the time.

The best thing anyone can do for her is not watch the stupid show and not perpetuate the situation. Someone should step in and take those children so they have a fighting chance, not glorify the dumbass that she is. What was that word you used Sharon? Jackanape? I've never heard that before but I think I will steal it from you. Do you mind? I guess I should find out what it means exactly first. . . .

FYI - octomom has 14 kids and is currently in the hospital for 2 days and no one will say why.

I don't know Sharon. The article I saw was on Yahoo and I saw something else about it on like E! or something. I thought the "Special" was a seperate thing...like just an interview. Either way, I know if she has a reality show I won't watch. But if someone like Barbara Walters sits down with her I will watch just to see what she has to say.

I know the duggars seem to be really nice people and they have very well behaved, caring, dutiful, smart children but there is something about the way they smile and the mom's voice that makes me feel like when I am watching them that I am being drawn into a cult and all I think is OH No change the channel fast I don't want to join...I don't want to join.

Ok I looked it up. Looks like she is getting a SPECIAL - 2 hours. I see conflicting reports about the tv show. One dated on the 27th of july says she signed up, and another says that was premature then lists the special - being made by a UK organization?

In one interview she gave she stated that her lips naturally swell when she is pregnant. Ummm..she is no longer pregnant and those things look like suction cups and if you look at her pictures before she had kids and after the first few kids her lips were thin. Her nose got smaller and her cheek bones became defined and higher now that is not a result of just one day you wake up and your whole facial features have dramatically changed or a result of pregnancy. I remember learning in science that your nose grows with age not that it gets smaller and the majority of women I have seen when they were pregnant have faces that fill out not that become more defined. Plus she is no longer pregnant and she still looks like a wanna be Angelina Jolie.

DELUSIONAL is what she is on top of being selfish. Those kids will all be on Oprah when they are older telling their sad tale of how mommy screwed them up for life and that is why they are dysfunctional. Seriously I just get pissed off thinking about how much money she must of spent on getting all the damn work done on herself while she was on government assistance and sponging off her mom. ahhhh I hate to digress (ROTFL) but the duggers/duggars are amazing. their life isn't for everyone - I can't imagine having 18 kids but you know ? They're family is thriving and its amazing to see.



I gotta say, the cynic in me is waiting for the day when all of them hit adulthood and the sordid "tell all" books hit the shelves. If it never happens I'll be happy, if it does happen I won't be surprised.

This woman is obviously seriously mentally ill...I've seen her interviewed. The doctor(s) who allowed this to happen should be prosecuted, and those children should be removed from her home. ALL of those TV shows disgust me!

Ah Sharon you are so eloquent with your words. And as always you bring it down to reality.

She's not the brightest bulb in the package, she squandered her funds for the kids on herself, everybody gets to see her sniveling, and now she's getting paid to do it.



WE all work our asses off just to keep our heads above water. She uses her kids food money to make more babies and now she makes more than all of us. Kinda makes you want to pool all of our funds and do the same darn thing. Can you imagine even 100 of us each spawn 8 kids at one time with no jobs etc. What a fun time that would be.



FYI Duggers---18 kids and counting -- TLC program from the USA. Highly religious family that do not believe in birth control. Very Very smart cookies. Children are home schooled. No TV, no Radio, etc. They have no debit, buy 90% of their needs second hand. They are awesome to watch. And they are not alone. There is a large group of families with large numbers. You can look it up onthe net. (Unlike Jon and kate +8 this family is full of LOVE.)

Why in gods' name is she not facing fraud charges in California???? She was on welfare and yet had the money for artificial insemination? OMG.



I won't be watching the show. I saw a preview of some sort where she was sniveling about not knowing how to cope. Well no friggen duh you braindamaged jackanape!



Technically she's getting paid for stealing from the govt. Without the financial aid she got from the state of california she couldn't have afforded the nasty plastic surgery she got or the artificial insemination.

The ink is hardly dry on her contract for a reality show (which was signed in July). All I can do is shake my head and pray for her children....all 14 of them. Here's how it breaks down money wise: $125,000 for 36 days of filming the first year. $75,000 for 21 days of filming the second year. $50,000 for 14 days of filming the third year. Total? $250,000. But that's not including all the perks, books and other free shit she will be getting along the way. What makes me the most angry is that my husband works his ass off 6 days a week (close to 12 hours a day) and in 3 years time he will only have made less than HALF of what she's making. I read an article the other day that said the court appointed a "guardian" for the money, as it officially belongs to the children. GOOD. At least if someone responsible is watching the money, maybe at least they'll have a shot at college.

I think she is very much so mentally ill, she needs some serious help. Yes, she is selfish, and just plain stupid.



She has gotten a reality show, and the kids will make $50,000 each a season for like three years and a good portion of that HAS to go into a fund for the child when he/she turns 18. I knew some low-life TV station would pick this up. For the kids sake I guess I am glad, but I will not be watching.

The one thing I will say about the Duggars is that they take care of business, whether or not I agree with having that many children (which I don't for reasons you stated, Jodi), at least they are self-sufficient and provide for their family.

I couldn't imagin pumping out that many babies.  I think it is a travesty.  Surely that many babies isn't about the best interests of the kids.  How could one mother (or even one set of parents) possibly be the best parents they can to that number of children!!

I absolutely agree with you. I am not a fan, and I think what she has done as an unemployed mother of 6, to DARE implant more babies. There is nothing about this that is about the children, she has done every bit of it for her own selfish reasons. If you live in the US, it is YOUR tax dollars supporting her children. And when I read that not one of her children has actually been conceived naturally......don't get me started!!
