@Desiree Rowe me too!! especially people in customer service! when i was a supervisor at a large supermarket i used to go around and get everyone to spit out their gum when i started my shift! I can't stand it!! i've also be known not to hire someone who hands in their CV while chewing gum or chewing gum during the interview process...some of the kids may of hated me for it but i believe it's incredibly rude

I had people saying my daughters name all weird. It is Winter. As in...winter. Nothing to it. I don't know why they have to try and put a stupid accent on the 'i' or something. Eh. I'm not saying that I make mistakes, because I do. But simple names? Really? My dogs are called Nena and Riku, pronounces ney-nah and ree-kuu. And people always get them wrong, but I know that it may be a mouthful for some people so it doesn't bother me too much. As long as I don't have to correct them 400 times. Meh. Some people just seem to be a lot dumber than they believe they are. >>;

The improper use of, or absence of appropriate spelling, grammar and punctuation in day to day life. I don't mind short forms on the internet but when I see "whine" spelled "whigne or whinge" I get a little twitchy. lol
It still baffles my brain that spell checker will tell you it's wrong with the little squiggly red line and people will still leave it alone rather than change it.
Again, on the internet I'm trying to be more lenient, but in real life I cringe when I read a run on sentence that lacks any attempt at punctuation. Or find obvious misspellings of words in print media and advertising. The main street in the closest city is Manitoba Street. I shopped at a second hand kids store on said street last weekend, when I got my receipt I was shocked to read "118 Maintoba street." on the top. Who settles for that?? What business owner would honestly not have that corrected?? Argggg!!
So my biggest peeves have to do with the use of the English language. Some other ones are girls who have words written across the seat of their too tight yoga pants; Cherry, Sweet Tart, Hot, Angel, Sexy etc. whoever invented that fad should be flayed.

@Desiree...my mum used to work in the children's ward of the local hospital she once had to treat a child who was not using the four legs of his chair he had his head split open badly and managed to also badly break where his neck and head joined...he's now fully paralyzed...scared me to death and i've never swung on my chair again

Desiree, I was only joking as I said I use it too. I HATE kids rocking on their chair - I completely agree they have 4 legs so you can bloody well use them! I maybe should have been clearer that I was joking about it :-) It's one of those phrases that when you are younger you reckon your never going to use, but then we get 'old' and start using them hahaha.

Toni, my reasons regarding chairs is an accident that happened when i was in high school. The Boy in front of me use to ride his chair all the time the problem was one day it slipped out from under him and he cracked his head open quite badly and i had blood all over my school books. Thats why I have such a thing about it. but reading my post back I suppose i do sound like the mom I am, but when you are 15 its not a laughing matter.

Tattoos on women are hot and the inks used these days are a million times superior to the inks used 1o years ago and you will find women who get a tattoo because its "cool" wont really care for their work but for those of us who appreciate our artwork we take great care in respecting our skin , i dont know but my mum is over 50 and has the body and skin of a woman in her twenties because she cares for her body so i dont really buy the old and wrinkly thing i just figure when i get to 80 i will look at my tatts and smile and think about how i lived life the way i wanted to live it . JMO.

I can't stand late people!!! What makes them think that what they are doing is so much more important than what I am doing, so I can just wait? Five or ten minutes here and there is not an issue... being consistently late winds me up.

And what's with these guys that feel the need to mow, whipper snip, edge and blower-vac 3 friggin times a week? Jesus Christ, no lawn grows that fast. My next door neighbour does this. I have to stop myself from yelling out that if he's that bored, he can come and do mine and save me the $40 I pay my mower-man.

I agree with you I have had every version on my name and surname pronounced and living South Africa they have a habit of pronouncing it phonetically. Ie it's Rowe pronuonced Row not Row-e or Roowe. My other pet hate is a man talking to me with his hands in his pocket, to me this is disrespetful and rude. What about slurping souping or milkshake. Riding on the back legs of a chair. a chair has four legs for a very good reason.!! I also can't stand some one writing to me in SMS language. What happened to grammer and spelling?

I hate when people get defensive, especially on the young mums community. Everytime someone asks a question it's like "I had my baby at 13 and it was hard BUT I WOULDN'T CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD". It's like... are you trying to convince yourself? Why do people feel the need to defend themselves and their parenting, they're on Circle of Moms obviously they care enough about their children to be on here asking questions and stuff.

You what is really sad about that language? I'm 21, have no clue what most of it means and my 18 year old brother doesn't understand it either! I knew only a few basics like - tmi, lol, lmao, fyi and brb. Then I join COM and learned a few others, aka the ones you listed in your last post Toni.

Oh and a friend of mine would like to add that what irks her, are the people that *purposely* wear their thong high enough to always be seen. Not the ones who's pants have fallen down from bending over etc, but the ones who wear the straps up around their belly buttons.

Toni, it just gets irritating after a while having to constantly ask "what does tt4y mean? or something and getting giggled at because I have no clue what it means. I think it's worse though when somebody in their day to day conversation says "Oh em gee! Look at that!" I'm on the computer a lot, but not that much O.O"

OH and the people who switch between msn abbreviations and just weird ass spelling. Like "brb dude diz awsm shiz"

Paige I used to find the web abbreviations really annoying but as I learn more and more I have found myself using them more and more.



Oh and if somebody is NOT using their indicators I will NOT let them out end of, if your too lazy to tell me where you want to go tough shit your going to have to wait!



I find that *I* say "in my opinion" now when discussing things in my day to day life, I think to myslef GAH I'm not on DM I DON'T have to say that. I even annoy myself how lame is that lol!

I agree with a lot of the things listed here. I really can not stand people who abuse their children or pets. I can not stand someone who does not take the time to correct their spelling or typing. I have a hard time with those that pronounce words incorrectly. I also get really angry when people lie to you and you know they are lying and they know they are lying and they still do it. I get frustrated with people who call those with mental disabilities as crazy - we are not crazy just mentally chanllenged. I really hate it when my sister blames my daughter for everything that goes wrong when her daughter and my daughter are around each other even though her daughter is younger and cussed at my daughter and her friend. There is more but this is just the few I have thought of for now.

I have issues with msn type abbreviations. I don't know what half of them mean, and don't care enough to ask. I also have issues with minor spelling errors, like "supper" and "super." I know, petty, but it still irritates me. Turn signals! Nobody uses them! It makes me so mad! I am NOT a freakin mind reader, therefore I have NO IDEA where you are going if you don't flippin signal! GAH! hahaha



Edited to add: This isn't just a pet hate, more like a passion, but I absolutely CANNOT stand people who do not treat their animals right. It's not like they can talk, so they need to be protected.

@ Sarah Stevens....I'm with you on both of those! I've worked as a cashier/server/bartender for most of my adult life and there is nothing I despised more (besides crappy tippers) than someone talking on the phone while I was trying to provide good customer service to them. And the "what" thing? I was raised to say "Pardon?" I'm with ya on that one too :)

Thanks Kate I was gonna say the same. I don't hate tattoos on women. I am also a tattooed Mama. I think they're very attractive. However, I will be honest when I say that women with tats on the sides of their necks with, lets say, their boyfriends name, does kinda annoy me. Secretly, ALOT. But I think it's more of WHAT it is and not WHERE it is. But that's neither here nor there.

People who use the F word annoys me. I also cannot stand two faced people, who act like they are your best friend one day & the next won't look at you. I can't stand tattos on women, people who don't love children & animals, people who litter, people who act like they hate doing their jobs, people who smoke around their children. Basically, anything that lacks basic manners.

When we are out in public and my son is talking baby talk and people give him/us dirty looks. He has just as much of a right to be there as you do. If you can talk at a resturant then so can he.



It shouldn't bother me as much as it does but when people comment about my sons eyes wandering or moving every which way. My son is partially blind and sometimes it drives me bonkers. I know the people saying it don't intend to be rude. But I hear it all the time and then when I say he's blind they want a whole explanation.



People who talk on there phone while they are driving. It's alright as long as they also pay attention to what the hell they are doing.



People who know how to spell but choose not to. Examples...yhu instead of you...Cuz instead of because...mi instead of my...erryone instead of everyone...frann instead of friend...or adding duplicate letters to a word.

My husband and I were talking about a pet peeve we can't stand. People in our personal space. We we're watching Big Brother UK where one of the house guests was being overly touchy and feely with everyone. When he talked to them he would get inches from their face where they could probably smell his lunch. He annoyed us so much we we're yelling to "Get Him Out Already!"
My husband and I both experienced similar invasions of personal space while shopping. Have you ever been clothes shopping, you pick a rack to look at. Along comes another shopper who starts looking through the clothes right beside you. They are on the hanger as soon as you finish with it ARRGGH.
My husband was in a huge clothing store. Plenty of free racks and he said this lady started looking through his rack right behind him within a foot. Doing exactly as I described.
I was shopping a few weeks earlier and looking through a childrens' rack. Both sides of the rack had boys and girls clothing and all sizes. I was there first and this lady decides instead of looking through the other side first and waiting for me to be done. She picks my side. Just as I'm reaching for a cutesy little tank top she reaches at the same time for it. And then laughs and says "Oh excuse me!" Snotily like I was the one being rude! I guess she was worried I was going to pick all the good stuff on that side before she did and wanted to beat me to it.

I don't know how everyone else's cell phones work but the way mine works is : When starting a text, the * key changes it to 3 options Aa (on my phone, this only capitalizes the first letter after a punctuation. Basically every new sentence unless you ... in the text). AA makes it all caps and aa keeps it all lower case. Mine is a cheapo prepaid phone, so I would imagine that the fancy schmancy phones out there must have the option too. I think?

Joy that doesn't make sense though because my predictive text only writes the first letter of each sentence in a capital. I could understand all caps from a mobile phone but not The First Letter Capitalised.

LOL When I first read the subject line of the post, I came here to bitch about the things I hate about my pet. Litter boxes, incessant meowing from my Siamese. Clawing on my furniture.



*People who make disgusting smacking sounds with their mouths while they eat. I want to stop eating and just STARE at them with that "REALLY???" look on my face. Or tell them to STFU, whichever.

*Poor grammar. Not every day typos....I mean just plain poor grammar due to ignorance. Now, if you're trying to learn a new language and make mistakes, as long as you're getting better at it then that's ok too. I'm talking blatant horrible grammar (or grammer, as my niece said in a FB status about how glad she was that her mother was such a "stickler for grammer"....gritting my teeth.)

*My husband peeing ON THE SEAT. I don't mind the seat being left up on the toilet so much anymore. I'd rather have it up than have it left down and then sit on pee first thing in the morning.

*That flaky stuff that forms on the rim of a milk container....that always falls into my coffee.

*Crumbs in the butter.

*Bad drivers. I can handle the old lady drivers a lot easier than I can handle the young and reckless ones.

*People who cough or sneeze and don't even attempt to cover their mouths.

I'm sure I have more. Lots of things annoy me lol Some of the other ones on here are cracking me up. I keep reading everyone else's posts and going, "Oh my god, I hate that TOO!"

I'll run into people that I went to school with or grew up with in the same neighborhood and they sound like they came straight out of the projects or something. I can't help but to think secretly to myself... did we go to the same school?



My pet peeves are people that blast their music in their cars at like 2am driving through your neighborhood. I HATE THAT



I also hate when people say ascared instead of scared. I don't get it but hear it all the time. Or say mines instead of mine. The term Baby Daddy also pisses me off a bit.



I hate when people can't scrape the left over food off their plates before throwing in the sink.

oh...i thought you were talking about people's pets having things they hate! like my friend who has a puppy who hates when she chews gum! she can't even bring gum into the home bc the dog smells it and hides under the bed. LOL. i was thinking literally!!
