I would love to try it. People I know who do it say that it gives them lots of self confidence and that it spices things up in the bedroom. And that is never a bad thing.

I love it! I would definitely do it if I could find a program in my area.

As a work out GREAT! But I would be afraid to start a class like that then be expected to....perform (is that the right word lol?) at home all the time.

we've had this discussion before on here, and i just don't see how people have any moral objection to this at all. unless the person is taking off their clothes, whats' the big deal,a nd even then, what's the big deal? their body, their deal, not anybody elses.
it's definitely a workout, and looks like it could be fun!

I would LOVE to try this. there are a few places that give classes around here but going by myself scares me. i tried belly dancing and love it and I would also like to try burlesque... all in the near future I hope

As a dancer (not the exotic kind) in my previous (before kids) lifetime, I think pole-dancing would be a great way to get in shape. I would love to have a pole in our bedroom. But the kids would think it was a fire man pole that went no where!!
I know that for me dancing is the best exercise to get rid of my mummy tummy (and mummy butt, thighs, arms etc.)
I personally have DDD boobs, and would have to wear a bra otherwise I could end up injured!!
Would love to take a class if they were available here. hmmmm.... maybe I could start one.

Honestly, see no problem with it. I could use something fun to help me get in shape. Personally, I hate work outs that feel like work outs.
@ Jocelyn
So jealous that you're taking burlesque classes. I've always wanted to do that, but they don't offer them in my area :(

My old roomate moved into a party house that had stripper poles in the basement/bar/party area. I was a stripper at the time but didn't work at a club so I didn't have much experience with poles. But on slow nights at work my stripper friend and I would go to parties there and dance, and not only would we make some pretty good money, but we'd also get a GREAT workout... I could only dance for an hour on the poles before I got too sweaty and sore to do anymore. I wouldn't mind taking a pole fitness class after I have the baby to help get me in shape.

I would love to do the pole dancing classes. I've done some belly dancing DVD's and enjoyed them, but I'd like to do the pole dancing ones to feel more sexy. I'm quite nerdy, and not too sure of how to handle myself when trying to "seduce" my husband. Often times, it ends up just comical.

I think it's pretty cool, me and friend are hoping to do both pole dancing classes and belly dancing! I just need to work up the nerve, lol, time to get rid of the mommy tummy :)

Okay then. From a social/moral perspective I personally see absolutely nothing at all wrong with it in any way shape or form. I suppose if someone is completely sexually prudish, they might have a problem with the concept. But then most exercise requires body movements that could otherwise be considered suggestive. Pole dancing for fitness may have an origin in strip bars, but it really looks no more risque than those lunges or butt thrusts you see people doing. And if I run with my DD boobs, it's downright pornographic. And besides, I'm sure something good had to come out of strip bars, I can't think of anything else that has.

I've heard it is a good, challenging, full body workout. Particularly strengthens the arms, back & abs. It would probably be good for my health, lol. Are you looking for recommendations or a moral debate?
