i don't think that bellies themselves are sexy: beautiful? cute? womanly? yes yes and yes.
that being said, i do think that a woman (as a whole) can be sexy while pregnant.
i also agree that the contest is named wrong.

Let me try to respond and make some sense on what I think about this. Josh found me sexy when I was pregnant because I was carrying his child that we made together. He found me sexy before and after and even now when I'm much heavier than I was before our kids (I'm working on it for myself not him!). He finds me sexy because we are so intimate with each other and my baby bump was a visible reminder of our love and intimacy.

That being said, if he saw a random woman that was pregnant and found it sexy, it would be a little odd. Women can be very attractive when they have a baby bump but sexy just doesn't seem to fit unless you have something to do with that baby bump.

Baby bumps get people thinking about sex, because that's how you got that way! I do know some men find it to be a turn on, there's even preggo porn (which i find disgusting, but to each their own I suppose).

No I don't think baby bumps are supposed to be sexy. Here's the definition of sexy btw;

2. sexually interesting or exciting; radiating sexuality: the sexiest professor on campus.

The last one could be used to describe a baby bump for a couple. One the other hand what is wrong with using the word beautiful?
Must we really sexualize everything now?! To the point where our unborn children inside of us are now considered another accessory to our sexiness? I find it a little disturbing. I find it disturbing to think there are men out there that get turned on simply for the fact that a woman is pregnant. So long as they stay away from me I'm cool but honestly....

With everything needing the title sexy now a days no wonder our girls are having self esteem issues younger and younger. They just can't get away from the sexualization. It's everywhere!

The last thing I want is some random walking up to me and telling me how sexy I am when I'm pregnant. Really? Go away before I lay you out. Tell me how beautiful it is to be pregnant and carry a life. I would much rather be that then sexy.

I don't personally find pregnant women sexy, but I think a pregnant woman can be sexy for others. Does that make sense? But when I was pregnant I actually did feel quite sexy (probably the raging hormones).

my friend who is a model had a shoot yesterday she is 22 weeks pregnant and did the full nude shots , i had a look at the photo's and they were stunning , beautiful and sexy .
So yeah i can see how a person can be sexy with a belly but i do not find the belly sexy by itself , if that makes sense .

I think it's definitely a case of a poor choice of name, rather than the contest itself being wrong or inappropriate.

I've seen some of the pics, and some of them are beautiful. Some are cute, with Dad or older siblings. And then some are just smutty, which I'm assuming happened because 'sexiest' was in the name of the contest. If it had been named 'Best' of 'Most Beautiful' it probably would have come off a lot better.

Yeah, I think it's weird to have other women voting on the sexiest belly bump. I loved my belly, I didn't hide it, I wore a bikini at the beach but, did I think it was sexy? No, cute, Yes.

Haha...I have a picture of myself at 8.5 months pregnant dressed as a black cat for Halloween (fully clothed in black...not lingerie with cat ears, like a lot of girls will consider a costume). I entered it in the contest, not because I think my giant belly is sexy, but I think the picture is funny...and I have a problem with entering too many of these contests!



I don't necessarily think that a pregnant belly is sexy, but I do like the fact that it's no longer considered something we have to hide. Years ago, all maternity clothes made a woman look like she was a walking tent and it was so taboo to wear a bikini or a form fitting top. I think it's great that we can celebrate our bumps now instead of hiding them!

I think there's a HUGE difference between a husband/partner finding his wife/partner to be sexy when pregnant and asking a whole forum of WOMEN which is the "sexiest" belly baby bump LOL

There are pregnant women fetishes..my hubby thought my tummy was sexy and a turn on... his mate's Mrs was pregnant too and the guy kept going on about pregnant women and their milky breasts being the biggest turn on EW sick!!!!!

When I was pregnant the last thing I thought of when I looked in the mirror and saw stretch marks, bloated belly, an inny-turned-into-an-outie, swollen ankles and feet, with large circles under my eyes and a trashcan in my hand in case I puke is "Damn, I'm sexy!" Yeesh.
