I came in late on the foreskin convo by several days but still wanted to know...

Have you ever:

A) Been with an uncir'd man?

B) If so, how was that experience?

C) Ever known a circumcised man to ever voice any complaints or regrets over not being intact?

Edited to add:

D) If you have seen one, do you think it was attractive? Why? ha

I totally feel so high school slam bookish right now. ha

_______________________________________________________________________________

A) I've never even seen an uncircumcised penis, except for in a picture. I gotta say, didn't like what I saw. So no, is my answer here.

B) Does not apply

C) I've never once heard anyone ever say they felt mutilated or wished they could have kept their foreskin.

Extra note that will have everyone flipping out: I don't have a son but would get him circumcised before he came home from the hospital after birth, but oddly, I would not get my daughter's ears pierced until she can make the decision herself.

A. Twice
B. Both times awful. Never again
C. They were glad they were, didn't think they were mutilated and never resented their parents for their decision.
D. Saw a picture and it looked really hideous and turned me completely off.

OK I will be open and honest about this so be nice and yes it can be funny. :)
A) Been with an uncir'd man? yes I have. more than one
B) If so, how was that experience? It was awesome all except one. ok. maybe he doesn't count as he didn't keep clean enough there and I didn't touch him after I saw that. hmm...you decide if he counts. lol :)
C) Ever known a circumcised man to ever voice any complaints or regrets over not being intact? I have heard one or two that briefly wondered but then the idea of having it cut off horrified them. :)
D) If you have seen one, do you think it was attractive? Why? I liked them both cut and uncut. It all depends.

My husband says that he wishes he hadn't been because he knows it does cause damage by erectile dysfunction and plus when they do the surgery they are taking all the nerves which is over 200,000 just from that little piece of skin.

A. I have been with both circ'd and intact.

B. Sex is much better with my intact partner than it was with my circ'd ex. My ex had to go harder, faster, and took forever to come, sometimes never getting there at all.

C. He did complain, because his circumcision left him with scarring on one side that made it really tight there, and he would have this bulge below the scar whenever he was hard. He said it stretched and stung when he was a young teen and first started getting really big hard ons.

D. I think a cut penis looks weird when it is flacid, they look pretty much the same when erect (most do anyways) but when flacid, I like the look of natural over cut. Soft Cut Cock looks little and scared. Whereas soft intact cock looks confident and large.. just my opinion though and I have to say penises whether they are intact or cut are all a little different looking to begin with just like our ta tas.

b) sex is great because of the foreplay and size, not whether they're circumcised or not.
c) my husband used to be all 'i've heard the sex is better when you're circumcised" i'd be all "i heard it's NOT"
d) all penises are beautiful.

A) My husband and all but one other guy I've ever seen. Which isn't many. But most guys here are uncircumsised.

B) Awesome.

C) I only know two guys that I know for sure are uncircumcised. One is an ex who never said anything about it and another is my cousin who had to get circumsised later in life for medical reasons. He did not enjoy that experience.

D) To me they just look normal. I thought the uncircumcised one looked kind of funny because that's not what I'm used to.

B na
C yes, but he realizes that his parents were just misinformed
D yeah, little boys I seen intact, they look normal to me, circumcised boys to me look weirder. But I've never seen an intact man in person. Just on tv, online etc, but from the images I saw, I think intact penises look much more normal, and circumcised ones tend to look strange, but my husband is cut, and even if it's tight, and unlubed, and bent I still am ok with it! I mean, it gave me two kids so far, and many good sessions of morning sex :)

There are risks with any medical proceedure. Giving birth is a risk to the baby. There ARE medical reasons to circumcize and it kind of irritates me when people try to say it's purely cosmetic. While I know there are some poor infants out there who have died after having circumcisions, the research indicates that MOST of those babies had compromised immune systems or other health issues that were exasturbated by the circumcision. If you're going to be anti-circumcision that's fine, but you really shouldn't go around telling people "babies DIE from circumcisions". It's mis-information. It should be a personal choice based on your baby's health, the experience of the physician performing the proceedure, and your own religious/personal preferrence. There are men who are circumcized who have issues and men who aren't have issues too. No one's ever going to be 100% happy about anything, but I'd say the majority of men who are circumcized have far less problems(as do their partners) physically. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Just had to get that off my chest. Just my opinion and all.

1) Yes I have
2) The same as any other experience
3) No this guy loved that he was not circ'
4) No I dont think it is attractive.

On a personal note, when we had our son, we decided against it, just because it is not common practice these days and we didn't want to have him stand out in the 'locker room' lol. As much as circ' way common place in the 60's to 90's, as far as what my girlfriends say, about half did circ' their sons and half did not. So either way we went, there would be some boys the same position. And if he desperatly wants his foreskin removed later, he can have a plastic surgeon do it for him, thats up to him. (And yes, my 3 year old daughter had her ears pierced at 16 mos lol)

i wouldn't care either way cathy. :) i'd probably go for the addonis-IF he had a great personality. it's completely arrogant to base your feelings off of a mans penis alone. but so would it be to base it off of his looks alone as well.

which kindof proves both of our points. we can't really help what we are attracted to.

A) Yes, my husband isn't circumsized. He was born in Zambia (his parents are British) where they don't or at least didn't preform circumcisions at the time.

B) No different from any other experience. Although, not intending to be too graphic, I do have multiple orgasms with him... not sure if that has anything to do with him being uncircumsized or not.

C) He is insecure about it but I think that's more to do with negative public opinion. Although he didn't want our son to be circumsized and feels it's unecessary.

D) Honestly... i do find circumsized ones more attractive but i probably feel that way because it is the norm and it's what I'm use to seeing. I defintely don't find his penis revolting... I am actually very attracted to it.

Two men stood infront of you. One is a greek Adonis the other more of a Danny Devito type.
Which is the bigger turn on the intact or circumcised man? Do you care which penis belongs to which man?

My daughters were both born in a Jewish hospital (i'm not jewish, but my obgyn practices through there). Circumcision is offered at that hospital, but I wouldn't say it's routine, and the parent has to pay for the procedure. Many people that give birth there aren't actually Jewish, so they don't automatically circumcise boys. I woudn't get it done, my husband loves his penis intact. He says "God issued me my foreskin, so i'm keeping it" He brags about being 100% intact, tonsils, foreskin and apendix.

You wouldn't get your appendix removed just because one day you might get apendicitis.. it's a little backwards to do that to your foreskin too (imo)

Kati: Not all insurance companies pay for it. It's a plan-by-plan thing. But it is a really common practice here, although the rates of circumcision are dropping fast.

I think Erin's point is excellent. There really isn't much of an anti-circ movement in the U.S. -- that's true. And I do think that a large part of that can be placed on the shoulders of the medical community. I don't think that they're being clear enough about the risks of circumcision. And I don't think that the time to ask parents about this is right after the baby is born. This is something that should be brought up early on in the process of prenatal care, and the obstetrician should have a good discussion with the mother about exactly what circumcision entails and what risks are inherent therein. The parents may still choose to circumcise, but at least they aren't being misled into thinking that this is just a minor procedure.

Besides, we all know you Yanks are all socially backwards anyway. You'll catch up someday -- we've got faith in you. ;)

Kati I can absolutely see how the pro-cutting culture in the US affects parents' decisions. When everyone endorses it, of course people don't think it's a big deal. And that's where the intactivist movement focuses it's effort - on the doctors and medical establishments who continue to promote circ as the miracle cure for everything, without being honest about the true risks. It is an epic failure of the informed consent process. But again.. that's really another debate lol.

In Canada, infant circumcision isn't routine and therefore it's not done in hospitals. It's done privately in the doctor's office and is NOT covered my medical.

it seems odd to me that you have to go somwhere to get it done, here all 3 of mine were done the day after they were born in the hospital.

I'm not sure about Canada, but here in Aus RIC is banned in public hospitals. The vast majority of doctors also refuse to do it in the private system. In my city (of roughly 500,000) there is one doctor (who is a GP, not a surgeon) who performs circumcision. He books them all on Sundays because he came under scrutiny from his regular patients - that's how socially unacceptable circ is getting here.

and to make it a little more clear where i am coming from-why it seems so odd to me that people make this a big deal.

It's a big deal to people because babies have died from this, Kati.

It's an elective procedure, done without the child's consent, as a dubious safeguard against health problems that may or may not even happen.

Personally, I can't understand how any mother could risk her baby's life for weak reasons like that.

But, that's for another debate, and I don't want to derail this thread.

I have to agree with Kati...I only had my son circumcised b/c of the health benefits that I knew of at the time which was also 6 years ago...I didn't know what was common or what the difference was. The only one I had ever seen was my son's dad's and I didn't know if he was circumcised or not!! Gotcha! Just felt this uncontrollable need to point that out because I'm sure, unlike you, a lot of people do it because it's the norm where they live and only for that reason. If infant circumcision wasn't routine those numbers wouldn't be so high.

Carol, a friend of mine had her son circ'd nearly 4 years ago now and I remember the gong-show it was to have it done. We had to drive into Coquitlam, which is of course over the Portman in rush hour, sit in some smelly doctor's office, listening to babies screaming after trying to find parking for a half hour and having to pay 12$ when we did. On the way home we were stuck in rush hour traffic, AGAIN for 1 1/2 without moving an inch because of an accident, with a screaming baby who refused a soother AND she paid $400 to have it done.

Seems like SUCH a brewhaha. I can see why it's becoming the minority.

Circumcision here is really pretty rare as well. It USED to be common, but rates have dropped off drastically. 2006 stats show that circumcision rates for newborns in Atlantic Canada are very low -- even lower than the rest of the country. (In 2006, only 6.8% of newborns in Nova Scotia were circumcised.)

In my generation, where I live, I'd say circumcision vs. not was about 50/50. Now I don't know a single one of my friends who has circumcised their sons. Even one who is Jewish (although she's married to a Buddhist so that might have something to do with it). Any kid here now who is circumcised would be in the minority.

I've had conversations with my son about his circ (he's 17 now) because of so many discussions on COM about circumcision and I've asked him if it has had any affect on him and would he have preferred I'd not done it, etc. His answer has always been funny ones but the most recent is "mom..you know how much I love showering...giving me one more thing to clean would just be a pain in the butt....I like my penis just like it is...like everyone else's on the football team" - He's a character :)
