No, but Chad worked there for a couple years on the rigs, while Roxanne and I were living in Peachland, BC. He stayed with friends in Wanham. He worked for Storm Service Rigs. We also have friends in Leduc.

I am living in Camrose right now, about an hour SouthEast of Edmonton. But I grew up in a the tiny little village of Forestburg which is about 2 hours SE of Edmonton. Are you from Alberta too Dana?

OK, so I have to get in on this one. I am an Alberta girl, so obivously I live on a farm, raise cattle and ride a horse to work (when it's not planting, harvesting or calving season). As soon as it gets cold it's all snowmobiles and zambonis. Oh, and in the "off-season" my husband works on the rigs.



Also I have Nova Scotian parents, so that classifies me as a Newfie. I can't possible know how to speak "proper" English, and my whole family lives on lobster boats.



Oh, and I know John and Sally, no matter where they live in Canada. We are that close ya' know.

yep it's all about, xxxx, bundy rum, snags on the bbq, holden utes, pign, shootn and rootn here, unless you're a sheila then you can add tim tams into the bargain.....oh and we have couple of lambs in the front yard, and roos in the back....and i even know what emu poo looks like!

Vicki, I'm not certain the exact details but I believe they amalgamated Kelowna and Westbank in 2009, just after we moved back to the coast. Westbank technically became West Kelowna, I believe.......where Jenny, she'll know! I think most everyone still refers to it as Westbank though. Not sure about the indian land either....sorry. I tried to look it up but I'm tired and wasn't having much luck with any current info.

HAHA, i Find this funny im an orginal IOWA girl .. However im in Nebraska now. Around these parts we "drink Naughty Ice, Liver for Husker Football, Have Chamydia before we enter Jr High school, Dont attend school during Harvest Season, And of course we are proud to be Corn Feed. We sway our Rebel flags right next to our husker flags and have CB Radios in our cars, Oh and we are not cool unless we have big antennas swaying on the back of our diesal trucks!!! ------------------------ hahah im none of this.

Dana tht is absolute bs. kelowna has a west end. in the west of kelowna (although I always got it confused cause lake ontario is in the south of the city so i always thought of okanagan lake as south. anyway, why? did they merge or something? and what did the band that owns the land have to think about that?

One of the worst fucking things about being from Jersey is that people say we friggin' curse too much....me, personally, I don't fucking see it, but whatever dude.... Yep, I personally speared the elephant with my handy dandy broom stick, Laura! lmao. Okay, so not really...way back in the 1800 somethingororthers a circus came to town with Jumbo the elephant. The elephant escaped and was walking down the tracks and was hit by a train and killed. We have a life-size monument of Jumbo on top of a hill as you come into the city.

I live in southern Ontario Canada so people assume I'm from Toronto or Hamilton and that I'm a city girl. I actually live in the village of Vittoria which is in Norfolk County - a huge rural, farming community. The largest town has less than 20,000 people. I do love poutine, and beer but hate hockey (Brian loves it though). I don't live in an igloo, and while it is snowing right now for the first time this season, it was actually 10C last night!

Love this video and it pretty much sums up the stereotypes.

I'm from South Africa where we ride on Elephants to schools and shops , have wild lions and tigers as pets and parade around with nothing but a loin cloth and a spear in hand... all while barefoot!



Its really quite amusing how people have stereotyped South africa to be this mass of land with people running around in the wild... Gotta love stereotypes! Oh and just so you know the computer im typing on is made from timber and powered only by the sun with keys made from stone!

Jenn: I'm not Italian OR Irish, I don't tan, don't have fake nails or dyed hair, don't smoke. I hate the beach, hate clubs, and hate most of the music they play in them. Vicki, I used to live in Peachland, and had Roxanne at Kelowna General and then moved back to Abbotsford, where I was born and raised. Peachland is just down the hill from the west end of Kelowna (formerly known as Westbank and cannot believe they changed it; how LAME!)



My parents have a place at Sun Peaks in Kamloops.

I'm from New Jersey (referred to simply as Joisey). I am Italian, orange from tanning, and obnoxious. I have over highlighted teased hair, I get my super long fake nails done at least once a week, I wear leopard print on at least one item of clothing everyday, I smoke like a chimney, curse like a sailor, and have terrible road rage while driving. You can often find me down the shore (which is how we say at the beach), complaining, getting into verbal cat fights, shopping at one of the 1,000 malls we have here, or fist pumping to the hottest dance beats.

no...you're all 'my bad!' toucque, no? or something like that. pretty sure there is a c in there somewhere. funny my sister lives in ny and hangs on to her canadianisms for her son. poor kid calls it that. sounds so geeky cute when he does. sad thing is he walks around saying he needs his toucque (sp?)and we NEVER called it that. thought only bob and doug did. and people from 'other' (insert toronto snob mentality here) canadians did. ice fishing anyone?

and yeah, lived in kelwona for a bit and went to ouc for my ece (sounds funny). graduated and did a season at silver star, worked in daycare infant/toddler room and lived in the hostel. haven't been but figure the 'mtns'/hills in toronto area would suck in comparison (sorry, bc spoiled me). sorry dana but where did you say you were from?
