Inspired by another post: Just wondering at what age do you think most married couples stop having sex? The scenario is: High school sweethearts. They get married 6 years after living together. Start having children 19 years after being married. They have two kids. They have been together a total of 27 years. There ages are roughly her 45 and he is 50. They are both HEALTHY IN EVERY WAY. So. . . .when do YOU think they will stop having sex. Or sex still even being an issue in their lives?

P.S. please respond. This is my first debate question. Thank you. {:+)

No, not necessarilly "fight" back...but if you disagree with me...tell me why all this stuff that I am suggesting won't or doesn't work. Or why you think people SHOULD stop by a certain age.

[deleted account]

I don't think there is a specific time to stop if both individuals are healthy and in love. My grandparents have a healthy sex life, so far without the aid of any blue pills, and they are in their 80s. They have been married over 60 years... My parents are in their 60s and act like a couple of teenagers, they are enjoying life now that we've all left home! I plan on enjoying my husband as long as we are both able too! :)

lol, no judgement here. Truly just trying to help...what about the self pleasuring? Too personnal to answer? Just trying to see where your sex drive went. I am not your age, so I don't know if this is normal...I truly just keep thinking hormones. My mom is atleast 15 years older than you, gone through menopaus, and still has a healthy sex life.

Um, Shannin, you posted the original post just two hours ago. It takes time for people to respond - sometimes it isn't instant. How about you just wait and see if someone else has something to add? I'm sure there will be takers if you give some people time to respond and think about the issue.

My Grandma told me that they still have sex. Yes, I did cringe at the thought, but then felt happy knowing that even when I'm older I can still get it on. Bow-chicka-bow-wow!!

I think that depends on the relationship, but I know my mom is 60 and still has sex at least 4 times a week. I know my grandparents had sex well into their 70's before my papa had a stroke.
I don't plan on not having sex in my life time, if it happens that I/we can't have intercourse, I'm sure we'll always engage in sex of some kind.

I guess I should tell you I am disabled. Mentally and as of lately physically. We both are meds that lowers are sex drive. That is why I asked the question re: healthy people. I know what it is for me and my husband.

I'm confused. I am asking when the last time you had sex was. In COM you had said you and your husband don't have sex any more.

Not every "debate" turns into a blood bath. Sometimes it is just conversation. Just relax and go with it. This could end up being more interesting than you expect.

Do you self pleasure Shannin? I am just trying to understand you more. How many years has it been since you have had sex with your husband?

Kelly are you talking to me? And if you are, I am 45 years old. I thought I was 47. Then I realized I am only 45 until July of this year. Then, of course, I will be only 46. Yeah for me.

My cousin walked in on his great grandparents going at it a few weeks ago--they were 89 and 93! Try not to picture it.

I'm 30, hubs is 42, we're still pretty active, but when J was younger--toddlerhoodish--I thought I'd never want to do it again. Somehow, that passed, and we're back to normal :) I hope we keep going for a while.

You're doing fine, btw. Do you mind telling us how old you are?

Could be why your libido is so low. Talk to your doctor about it.

My plan was to put the ideas out there and then watch you guys go at. Hard part is coming up with topics that havent been done before. That is what I would like to happen. I cant keep up with you guys. And besides, does it keep kicking you back to the first page and I have to refresh every time someone response. And it is starting to piss me off.

No just not interest kind of like this debate. I dont think I am cut out for this. Do you guys mind if people just lurk in the back ground. Maybe I will watch for a while and see how this stuff is done. Because my communities are dead. This is were all the action is.

Just had some earth shattering sex last night! But you never answered about the role playing etc. Is that something you might try to get your libido back? Have you gone through menopause??? I am not sure how old you are, I am not trying to be offensive. I know hormones get messed up when women go through menopause.

Shannin, sorry for not responding right away...i got an important phone call. I don't tell people my age, I tell them I am 27...until I can't pass for that any longer.

I am healthy, and happy. I have been with the same man for 10 years, and the sex just keeps getting better. We had a dry spell due to my last pregnancy...I felt aweful about it. I love sex with him, and vice versa. I will have sex until I am physically incapable.

[deleted account]

I do know a couple (man early 60's, woman late 50's) that don't have sex, but that is due to a physical issue.

I don't have details of my friends sex lives (thankfully), but I can't imagine any of them DON'T have sex... at least on occasion.

[deleted account]

Of course, I stopped having sex at 31, but I no longer have a partner and I don't agree w/ sex outside of marriage. ;)

I would hope I don't stop until I become physically unable to have sex. I love sex, so does the hubby, but he is 13 year solder than me, but if the time comes where he is unable to "get it up" i'm sure we will have fun in other ways, there are plenty of toys and non-penetrating sex acts that can fulfil a person as well.. I like to explore ALL my options..

sorry :( I will do better next time. bye for now. {:+)!

i hope i don't stop until i'm in my late 60's or 70's. i don't really think there is a certain age for people to stop, whenever they BOTH feel comfortable with it i guess.
if there is a medical reason for one person in the relationship stopping, that s different to me. depends on if the person wants to pump themselves full of drugs so they can get off...
