For those of you who used the pill as your form of BC, how long did it take you to get pregnant after stopping the pill? How long were you on the pill before stopping it?
Did you wait until your cycle was regulated or did you start trying to conceive as soon as you stopped taking it?

I was on the pill for 12 years. I was off of the pill for 7 months before we really even started to try. I got pregnant within the first month of trying to concieve.

I was on the pill, but only for about 8-9 months. Stopped it in February (I think?) 2001 and got pregnant in April 2001 (first month of trying).
Of course, after being on Depo for about 2.5 years I was on bcp for 6 months and it took over 2 years to get pregnant w/ a baby that didn't end in a miscarriage.....

Thanks for the input so far ladies. I was on the pill for about 5 years before deciding to try for a baby. I stopped the pill in July '08 and it took about 5 months for us to get pregnant with our son.
I just got off the pill again after only being on it for about 2-3 months. My husband & I are hoping to conceive in the next few months. I was just curious to see if the longer you are on the pill, the longer it takes to get pregnant after stopping it. But, I guess you can never know, since everyone is so different.

it took 2 months for me to get pregnant after stopping the pill. We started trying right away, my periods were never regular without the pill and the longer I was off the pill the worse my cramps got. It would get so bad befoer the pill I would be crying, fainting and puking from the pain.

I have been on the pill for about 10 years now. With my daughter I got pregnant about 2-3 months after stopping the pill. Got back on it after she was born. 3 years later I stopped taking it in an attempt to conceive and I couldn't. It took a year and a round of Clomid for me to conceive my son. Back on it again and not having any more kids so I'm not worried about it. :P

I was on the pill for 16 years, I stopped taking it and started trying straight away. I was pregnant within 4 months.

I got pregnant with my eldest while I was on the pill......but I was pretty rubbish at remembering to take it.
With my youngest, i'd been on the pill (and not missing any!) for 4 yrs, came off the pill and was pregnant the next month!

I was on the pill for about 19 years and never had any accidents. When my husband and I got engaged and decided to have kids, I stopped taking it and within 2 cycles I was pregnant. I only had 1 period between stopping the pill and getting pregnant. We were advised by my GP to start right away and she gave us 6 months to try before we would have started testing and whatnot because I was 36 at the time and had been nervous that I'd have trouble conceiving since I never had before and my mother had lots of trouble.
