Am I the only who doesn't care if a mother chooses to carry her child as long as possible or thinks it wont be responsible that child being "spoilt". I still sometimes carry my 4yr old and my 2.5yr old, sometimes at the same time. I'll continue to until they're too heavy or ask not to be carried. How is a parent showing their kids that they love them going to spoil a child.

I feel a bit sorry for celebrity parents when they're publically scrutinized over their parenting.

I'd be carrying my kids too if the paparazi were constantly in my face! Besides I still sometimes carry my 6 year old when he's tired or asleep.

If it was my kids I could imagine them wanting to be carried if there were a bunch of strangers with big cameras taking photos of them. I could also see them crying, having a tantrum and telling them to go away. I supppose the headline would be something about how rude and bratty they supposedly would be.

What a silly waste of time it was that someone actually sat down and wrote that "article". Who knows? Maybe she was tired. Maybe she and her mother enjoy the closeness of her being carried. Maybe, and this is just a longshot here.....MAYBE she's famous and constantly surrounded by the press and would prefer to carry her child, rather than see her trampled or traumatized by the paparazzi. Princess Di anyone? I just think the whole intent of the article is ridiculous. I guess that means I spoil my 4 year old. I carry him from time to time, when he asks me to, if I don't have my hands full. I also still help him into the tub so he doesn't slip and I help boost him into chairs so he doesn't have to climb. Oooohhh, call the spoiled baby police lol

Well I personally would never carry even a 4yr old unless they fell asleep but other than that no they can walk. However, I don't care about Suri Cruz she has no hope of not being spoiled simply because of who her parents are.

Aww that picture is totally sweet and loving and it doesn't look awkward at all. Suri has her sweet little head laid on moms shoulder in a warm embrace.

The article should read how loving a mom Katie cruise is and how loved Suri seems.

Eh I wish I could carry Eric still but mostly my arms are filled with the baby!

I think most moms stop carrying their kids everywhere when the kid can keep pace but here and there a tired scared or angry child needs to be carried a ways.

Suri deserves any love and snuggles she can get :)

I'll carry my kids as long as I can. People are pathetic. If a parent shows their child affection a child is spoilt. I have 2 close together and they both take turns in getting picked up when my partner and I are out and still will when they're both walking. My son can walk but still likes to be picked up sometimes and cuddled there's nothing wrong with that. They can't find anything to pick on so they just bag her on anything. I'm not even a fan and I find it rediculous the person who wrote the article either isn't a parent or doesn't have much time for their kids.

Yeah walking children are BORING. Unless you're making a baby walk then OMG!!!!111

DH gave my older daughter piggy back rides until we moved to BC this year because she's nearly 4ft tall and DH is only 5'6. Heck she still gets 'shoulders' once in a while and she's 7

There are probably heaps of instances where katie and suri go out where Suri walks but there's no story there.

I think its wonderful, yes 6 is a bit old but if that is what make her feel safe and secure than its a great thing. I think that she looks like a loving caring parent and that is better than a parent that doesnt care for the child because the 'sparkle' of having a child is dulled. Nobody knows the circumstances so they shouldnt judge until they do and even then it is her choice not everyone else's

If I was being chased by crazies with cameras you'd better believe I'd be carrying my kid. Carrying my kid and accidentally maliciously on purpose knocking people over with my giant purse.

Im confused why everyone keeps going on about 4 year olds as this child is 6 not 4. Im impressed Katie can lift her 6 year old. I sure couldnt carry my kids by that age so kodoos to her for being so well in shape. :0)

Dude, maybe she had a long day and was tired. I know at that age I sometimes still had to be carried in from the car after a crazy outing. She might have fallen asleep or something. Why does anyone care???

I think this author is mean-spirited and clearly is trying to deflect from their own inadequacies by pointing fingers in a situation she could not possibly know anything about. I blame people like this for the lack of compassion, empathy and consideration that pervades our culture. I do not think it matters if it is a celebrity or not. If your life is so lame that you need to attack celebrities to feel better about yourself, it is probably time to spend more time improving your own life and less time attacking celebrities.

I would too if i were Katie and the flashing lights and swarm of paparazzi must be a bit much for the child not to mention Katie.I would do it more for her safety.

Who ever wrote the article is a fool.

That kid looks terrified. She's probably being carried because the paparazzi scared her.

What a ridiculous thing to be writing an article about! So she gets carried sometimes! At least her parents are spending time with her and actually showing her some affection, not pushing her off onto a nanny 24/7! If she's spoiled, I highly doubt it's because she gets a hug or gets carried once in a while! And that video on the bottom showed her walking, so obviously, she is capable and they do let her walk!

Good on Katie - I can barely carry my 4 year old anymore! :)

Katie has one kid! Let the poor woman alone. I carried my first until I couldn't anymore, even while pregnant! Face it, they got money to burn and no other kids, nannies, travel, all the things money can buy. If I was that rich my kids would be beyond rotten! Who's wouldn't?

What's the big deal? OK, so your child feels the need to be carried, if you are physically able then why the hell not? It's a damn good exercise too! I may just carry mine until he is a teen, Momma will have some skinny ass and legs... hahahaa

Leave them alone for goodness sake, she is simply loving her child. Not to mention how the child feels with all those weirdo's starring and snapping pics at them...

It was poorly written and appalling. I reckon most shots I see of Suri involve her walking in those horrid high heals, who cares if mother and daughter want to cuddle? I think what Katie's doing is good parenting. I didn't know loving your child equalled spoiling them....

Meh, my hubby sometimes still carries our almost 7 year old to bed at night. It's their "special" little thing between them. I can't carry her, she's too heavy for me these days. But I don't see what the big deal is.

Wow.

Maybe the kid was tired and needed a nap.... My daughter will be 4 in April and I carry her sometimes... if she's tired, or if it's cold...... if she's asleep in the car, I carry her inside. I don't see this stopping any time soon.

My brother carried me home when I was in 1st grade because I had the chicken pox...

Wow. Find something else to bitch about people. geebus. That photo looks like a loving shot of a mother cuddling with her child. Maybe her daughter wanted a hug.

Obviously the kid is wearing shoes, and she is capable of walking, which I am SURE she does at home... Maybe Katie is worried that her kid might be kidnapped, so she's doing it as a preventative measure.

Stay outta her business. losers.

For me,i would rather the child walk, what happens if katie has another baby and she has to pack a carseat around, she will have to force surri to walk, and i think that can have more of a negative affect on her then spoiling,by suddently being told to walk, since there is another child now. i think the Media is ridiculous.

Let Katie Holmes get as much comfort from that child as she can...it may be the only affection her "minders" allow her.

Seriously, she looks like a long and lanky little girl so it looks more awkward that they are still carrying her around. I think there is no getting around the fact she's going to be spoiled - it is what it is.
