We're all vaccinated... except flu shots, but my 3 nephews are not. I've never had a problem w/ my kids being around them.... even when my nephews have been sick. I won't bring MY kids around if MY kids are sick though cuz my nephews don't seem to have the greatest of immune systems.

My son WAS on a slightly delayed schedule starting at 12 months though. Only one new shot per visit and no more than 2 shots in any visit. He got fully caught up by his 3 year check up though.

Get them vaccinated. OBVIOUSLY if you have a reaction then don't.

My kids are all vaccinated 100% and always have been, including the flu since I have a child with Asthma.

I've gotten the flu shot for my kids when they were babies and myself when I was pregnant, same with the H1N1. Now, not so much, except for my youngest because he is still a baby. Schools and day cares require the Chicken pox vaccine now so they got it. I had Chicken pox when I was little and it really wasn't that bad but I'm at risk of getting it again, so my doc says, because I have had Shingles twice and they are in the same family. Apparently I didn't build up a very good immunity to that one.

We're undecided too. Our first had a strong reaction to the MMR. The girls are older now so we may continue on with immunizations. But we're still thinking about it.

I got my kids all of their booster shots (so far anyways. I have a 2yr old and an 8.5mo old)
Boosters I'm good with. Things like flu vaccines, I'm not so big on. I don't get them and neither will my kids until if and when they decide they want them for themselves (I would be okay with that choice around 13 or so) Chicken pox vaccines are pointless for me. I've never had it (never had any symptoms or anything) but I have the immunities. So I will never have that shot and I'm undecided about my children at this point. I don't think I'll get it for them though.

I basically think that annual vaccines are not for us. I'm more than thankful for them for people with weak immune systems or the elderly or anyone else who chooses to use them, but not for me.
I used to be forced to get the flu shot every year by my grandparents and I still got the flu once a year anyways. Just as bad as if I hadn't gotten the shot. So it was just kind of pointless to me.

I vaccinate my kids:) I pretty much feel the way! If my child were to get sick or worse because someone else refuses to vaccinate their kids, I don't know what I'd do but it wouldn't be pretty. I understand not doing it for medical reasons.

We fully vaccinate our kids according to the Alberta schedule (which doesn't contain a couple that are on the US schedule). The only one we don't get, at the moment, is the flu vaccine.

I only read a couple pages of the debate that was linked, but it is something that is about to become a very sensitive issue for us, because my sister has not vaccinated my niece at all. She buys into the conspiracy theorists like Dr. Mercola. We are going to have a new baby in Feb, in the height of illness season and I am really conflicted on what to do about contact with my niece. I hate to say she can't be around for 2 months until he gets his first vaccinations, but I also hate to take the chance of her exposing him to something! I don't know what to do! I wish my sister would realize that she is endangering her daughter - who is now a year and a half, so would probably face a lot less risk from the vaccinations than a tiny baby - and endangering our soon-to-be baby and the tiny babies of her friends.

All 4 of my kids are fully vaccinated - not the flu one though - they are all healthy and without any unerlying medical problems so I don't feel the need - it's not offered in the Uk to anyone apart from the elderly or those with medical problems anyway.

just curious what if one of your kids had asthma (in case they dont) my son has it so its highly recommended that he get all flu vaccines.

I'm with you Louise. Last year there was a bad batch of the Flu vaccine that had heaps of children hospitalized here (Perth, Weatern Australia). That's the only vaccine I don't give my kids. They get plenty of fresh fruit ang veg and are pretty healthy compared to a lot of the other kids in their classes.

My thoughts are if the vaccine has been widely used for years with a minimal risk then fine my children could have it, but as for the Swine Flu jab now offord they have not. I do not know enough about the long term effects and as the risk is quite small I am willing to take the chance. This vaccine was rushed onto the market from nowhere and I am not willing to have my children as the generation guinea pigs.

I am fully vaccinated and so are all 3 of my kids. We are all healthy and haven't had any side effects.
I would prefer for them to be vaccinated then get a preventable disease and possibly die.

My daughter is vaccinated and I would do it again. I have a very healthy, happy girl and I have never had any problems from the vaccinations.
