I believe we discussed this topic here, so I wanted to bring you an update. Justice of peace Keith Bardwell refused to marry an interracial couple because of his "concern" for children that would come out of this union. (The couple already has a kid.) The couple dropped the lawsuit against Bardwell saying the suit was never about money, but about getting him out of office. Thoughts?

It is quite possible they didn't spend a penny. Maybe some lawyer took it on for free because it was a potentially high profile and winnable case, it would be great publicity for a law firm!!

Emma, they say that the lawsuit was about getting him out of office, not the money. The man is now out of office. Objective achieved, so they don't need to continue with the lawsuit.
I think if this was the objective, then why not drop the lawsuit? I would have too if that's what I wanted.
