4. His ring was engraved with the word "PHILOSOPHY" becasue we met in Philosophy class in Fall '92 semester (but I really didn't remember him!)
5. Married 10 years

1. No, I have never worn my ring daily.I usually take it off and place it in my kitchen drawer. LOL

2. No my husband doesn't wear his ring. Like Sharon's husband, it's due to work. He keeps his wedding band on his keychain.

3. I sold my first wedding ring (long story) and I lost my second wedding ring. My husband wanted to buy me another, but I didn't want to spend the money because I really do lose a lot of my jewelry. I told him he could buy me a cubic zirconia since he insisted I wear something. He did buy me a VERY nice wedding set that has a "GENUINE 1.3 CARAT CUBIC ZIRCONIA"! haha I actually like it a lot-- more than my previous rings-- and I have managed not to lose it! :)

4. No, neither of us had our rings engraved. I am not a very sentimental person in that way, so it never crossed my mind actually.

5. Our anniversary is on Thursday, the 17th. It's been 11 years.

really? my engagement ring is a single diamond (1/2 carat) raised above a row of smaller ones. then my wedding ring is just a row of diamonds that matches the ones on the engagement ring. i've never thought it was inappropriate - especially since they came together as a "wedding set" - oh well, i guess there are people out there who like to critisize everything! wear your row of diamonds with pride - i do! :D

1. Yes, only time I take it off is if I am going something messy, ie mealoaf, cookies, edible playdough

3. Nothing but traditional.....I guess that makes us boring.....yet I love my ring. My husband is not a jewlry freak...so he enjoys the plain ring as well.

4. Husband lost his once at work......figured he left it in his uniform from work....called the dry cleaners and sure enough....they found a ring.

5. thanks to the engraving we could identify it for them easily.

6. been together for 20 years; married for 12 years this month (oh that reminds me I better start thinking of something special for our anniversary)

Yes. The only time I've taken it off was at the end of my pregnancy, when it started to feel a bit too tight.

Does your husband wear his ring faithfully?
Yes, but he's more likely to take his off while doing yard work or something like that. He also tends to take it off as kind of a nervous habit - which drives me crazy.

Sadly, yes. My engagement ring was stolen. We haven't replaced it.

is it hollow underneath?  I had that problem and it was because soap and water,dirt, whatever kept getting trapped underneath it.  if it is you can take it to a jeweller and have it filled in. :)

Actually yes, it is hollow underneath on the bottom side of the top half of the rings (if that makes sense?).  When the rash was there, it was only on the top side of my finger, not the bottom.  So I got a tooth brush and cleaned out the inside of the rings.  It did no good.  I'm gonna take them to a jeweler and see if there's anything he/she can do to help.  What's wierd though is that we got married in April and I wore my rings 24/7 up until June with no problem.  In June I found out I was pregnant and my fingers had started to swell so I took the rings off because they were a little too tight.  In July I miscarried and my body pretty much went back to normal after that.  The rings fit me fine again, so I started wearing them again...that's when the rashes started.  I'm pretty sure it's an allergy, but I'm wondering why I was ok and had no problems for the first two months I wore them.  I wonder if maybe during the short time I was pregnant there was some kind of chemical change in my skin or something.  I know that I can't wear digital watches because the acid in my skin makes them go all kooky and start flashing wierd symbols and numbers.  No one in my family except for one of my brothers can wear digital watches.  It's some kind of family thing.  I dunno though......I miss wearing my rings.

1. I usually wear them daily, but since I'm due soon I've had it taken off for a few weeks, you can still tell where they sit!

2. My husband used to... he had 6 wks off and got "fat" so his ring felt restrictive to him and he took it off so he can get it resized. I say "fat" because he hadn't gained weight since HS and is now like 10lbs heavier, a whole 125, real FAT!!! Jerk

3. I don't think they are untraditional? I wear 3 rings usually: a promise ring (a gold wedding band), engagement ring, & a wrap w/rubies & diamonds~the last two are welded together, he didn't want to put the promise ring on it? terd! I refuse to not wear it though :) His band is white gold because he doesn't like yellow gold & mine are yellow gold... Never lost any...

My dad would give me crap for making my husband wear his ring @ work because of the risk of losing a finger... I told him I didn't much care if he lost a finger, that he needs to be extra careful then and wear his ring :) guess I'm mean! I never take mine off but to get cleaned and for having my babes...it was hell trying to get it off for any one of those occasions I couldn't imagine doing that daily!

I wear my wedding band and engagement ring everyday, and my husband wears his as well. We have our wedding date engraved on the inside of them (11-12-2005). I think that wearing our bands is important, it's s symbol of our commitment to one another.



I have a friend who recently got married and he didn't want to wear a wedding band, so he got it tattooed on...whatever floats your boat! His new father-in-law was giving him shit about it and he said "This is commitment", and he's right, he can't take it off! :)

I wear my wedding ring faithfully everyday and so does my husband. The only time I had to take it off was when I had my second son(c-section) so I didn't have a choice, and 2 years ago I had to have major surgery so I couldn't wear it then either. My husband takes his ring off at work and puts it back on when he is done.

I have never lost my wedding ring and neither has my husband.

Our rings are engraved with our anniversary February 9th

We have been married 8 1/2 years now.

1. Yes, I wear my rings every day. For a short while I developed rash under my rings, but I started taking them off every time I washed my hands and moisturizing before I put them back on, the rash went away and hasn't come back.

2. My husband wears his on days off and after work. He can not wear it because he works in a radioactive field.

3. My husband lost his wedding band when we were swimming in Mexico just before the birth of our daughter. We'd gone out over the rocks into the waves, and a huge wave came up. He could feel the ring slipping off his finger but I was being swept towards the rocks. He made a split second decision to save me instead of the ring. Good man :) He went out diving under the rocks every day after looking for it, until i made him stop when he got bitten by a crab. I bought him a new band when we got home and presented it to him in the delivery room just after our daughter was born. I think the new one actually means more to him.

4. Our rings were engraved with the others initials.

Yes he does. We got a titanium one so he can wear it at work without worrying about ruining it (he's a painter).

Ours are only untraditional in the fact that we do not have a matching set. Like I said before, his is titanuim and mine is white gold with diamonds.

I wear my rings almost every day, i take them off to be cleaned or if i feel like wearing silver jewelery when we go out (my rings are yellow gold and diamonds) My husband wears his ring everyday and its really scratched because hes a landscape gardener and is always using his hands and getting dirty. Never lost our rings, but i did loose a diamond and opal gold ring my grandmother gave me which her father had given her when she turned 18 and I had my engagement ring made in the same design. My daughter got into my jewelery box when she was 2 and luckily i found it in the bathroom cupboard a few months later...No engravings.. we've been married five years, together for nine.

I wear my rings everyday,all day,both engagement and wedding. Except when making hamburgers.



My husband usually wears his everyday. Sometimes he'll take it off for a day b/c he doesn't like the way his skin gets all soft underneath (it's a wide band)



We've never lost them, knock on wood.



No engraving.



Together 13, married for 2 years on the 15th of Sept.



Btw ladies, the best way to wash your rings with stones in them are a toothbrush and dishsoap. Gets all around the prongs and under the stones. I learned this from my MIL, she's a jewler.

We have my parents wedding rings , my father for some unknown reason didn't wear his anymore and after my grandmother died my mother being her only daughter got her wedding ring and engagement ring. So before my husband and I got married my mother gave us theirs. inside my husbands ring is my fathers initials and the date when they got married and inside my ring has my mothers initials and also the date of their wedding. We wanted to also add ours but it would have taken away from some of theirs so we decided not to. I take mine off at night before I go to bed sometimes, but put it back on first thing in the morning , my husband keeps his on all the time. We have been married just 10 years , September 11th is are Wedding Anniversery.

I wear my wedding ring daily. My husband forgets to wear his all of the time. (This really hurts my feelings). I have no engagement ring because I think diamonds are evil, and I did not want a symbol that my husband had "bought and paid for" me anyway...my wedding band is a double circle of dark blue saphires which I chose and paid for myself. Niether of our rings is engraved. We've been married 3 years this coming Oct. 7th.

I take mine off every night-don't sleep in them. I usually leave them to the right of the sink. I have also heard of various white/yellow gold allergies. I nagged and nagged to get engaged, and then after dating for 4 years he gave me an engagement ring. Then another 2 years went by before we saved up for a a nice wedding. So, together 16 years, married for 10. For some couples, the rings are such a HUGE ordeal-and must be perfect. I actually did not see my ring until a week before we got married. The jewler wanted me to try it on in person, and I just weeped at how beautiful the ring was that my hubby picked out. He also picked out my engagement ring too.

I have a white gold allergy too. It is actually a nickel allergy. Yellow gold and platinum don't contain nickel. Maybe you can ask the jeweler to coat the inside of the rings w/ platinum or yellow gold so you can wear them.

Ok, so here goes-

1. I always wear my wedding rings.

2. Dh always wears his as well. He has two, one for work and one for special occasions. His orginal ring is platinum and he got it all scratched up at work so I had to take it to the jewelers to buff it out and bought him a second ring (white gold) for work, since he likes wearing his ring too :)

3. We haven't lost any rings, thank goodness!

I wear my rings every day. My hand feels naked without them. My Husband wears his on his days off or for special occasions, he works in the oil fields so he can't wear it to work. My Husband has a plain white gold band, mine is simple, but beautiful. Past, present and future diamonds on my engagement ring (he picked it out and I love it). I have never lost mine, the Husband has mis-placed his a few times, luckily it has always turned up. His band is engraved "you are my heart" since mine was too thin to engrave. (one of the sweetest things he ever said to me). He always reads it before he puts it on which makes me smile. We have been married 8 years, together for 10.

I USUALLY wear my engagement ring every day, i don't wear my wedding ring (actually a 'commitment' ring my husband bought me when i got pregnant with Cadence!) for the same reason as Joy, it irritates my finger badly.
Because i do so much blooming washing up, i take my engagement ring off and forget to put it back on! (when my husband moans i tell him HE could always do the washing up now and then! lol!)
My husband wears his wedding ring every day.
Thought i'd lost my engagement ring once.......but luckily Cadence remembered where she'd 'hidden it to keep it safe' !

1) no not daily: i don't wear it to the pool (for fear of losing it), or to work (i work at a liquor store where i unload pallets or beer all day and it hurts to get it caught in a beer box handle! lol)
2) no not daily; he works overnight unloading trucks and pallets, so same reason
3) yes, i lost my wedding band (not the engagement band thank god lol) but only for 3 days... i found it under a box in my closet...don't ask me how it got there lol
4) nope, no engraving
5) we will be married one year on sept 28 :)

oh and Joy, it IS possible to be allergic to a white gold band. white gold has a much higher nickle count than yellow gold. i am horrendously allergic to nickle, and my ring is white gold, so about once a month i have to leave it off for a few days. luckily my skin must be thickening where i wear my ring because it's been slowly getting less and less frequent that i get a reaction... if you want, try lining the inside of the ring with clear nail polish, just make sure to re-apply every so often. i do that on all my jewelry, belt buckles, hair clips etc.

I wear mine every day. It's a white gold Claddagh, with my grandmother's diamond from her engagement ring set where the heart would be ( the hands are holding the diamond , but you can still see the outline of the heart).

Toa doesn't wear his unless we are 'dressing up and going out'. (his is a Claddagh as well) He's not a jewelry person - no necklaces, no earring, no piercings, no nothing, so I never expected that he would wear a ring 'daily'. He does plan on tattooing his ring finger but we just never seem to get around to it., and of course, I would do the same.

No engravings on either ring.

We've been together for a little more than 8 years, married 4 years this December.
