Yesterday I called my sister and said I would pick up her son (and mine of course) from daycare at 4:000ish. I'd feed dinner, and then bring both boys to basketball at 6 pm. She didn;t have to rush and race to leave work, but could meet us at the gym.

My best friend just put her son in preschool, and her sales (she make lil girl clothes) dropped, so she didn't have ANY money. So I had her make the girls a bunch of new clothes ($150 for her), plus I used my mad coupon skills and surprised her with groceries.
I also gave $$ to a few homeless people when I was in Hollywood Thursday. I usually don't because I worry they'll just buy booze or drugs, but I guess if I were homeless I'd probably want to be drunk too, spice things up, haha. My friend who lives there knows better, she bought some burgers for them when we were at McDonalds.

I got to thinking and I do nice things. Just not this past week. I let people cut in line at the store. Easter when the little ones didn't get any eggs because the bigger kids (mine j/k) knock them over, I give them some of ours. My hubby had to take the basket from me. Not a big deal but I take my cleaning lady to the bus depot not just the bus stop. I also give her kids money when she brings them. I carpool with the neighbor and offered to take his kid to swimming lesson too. UGH. I let the neighbor girl come over to (help) with the kids because she is lonely. I would rather be on CoM and all she does is yell at my kids. She doesn't yell at them anymore but she does make them lunch. So that is a win win situation. I am not an evil bitch .....all the time. Just thought you should know. Its not much but it is something.
P.S. Nichole does stuff too.

Hmmmm, just trying to think of nice things I did since I started this thread!
Well it is way too hot outside to play- 112 degree heat- so I invited 3 of the neighborhood boys to play inside for hours. Lunch/snack, etc. Guess that's about it!

I am not sure if this counts as nice or not, but I let my gf's teenage daughter spend the week (last week and this upcoming one) with my children and I, while her mother goes back home to Ohio to work. This may not count as I get some "almost adult" company from her, and she also gets to be here when I run errands without my children. It alo gives her mother an incentive to come back for another weekend.

Oh - I'm glad you asked because I feel VERY proud of myself.
The other day I picked up some Chinese dumplings on the way home from work and was reallllly looking forward to eating them. it was FREEEZING cold that night and I was STARVING. I was imagining their slippery salty flavour, and just started to think I wouldn't take them home but would eat the entire box myself on the train.
But then - I see a homeless guy sitting on the cold concrete with the wind whipping around him as the commuters rushed by him.
I faltered and looked at him, imagining his cold night ahead. I asked myself, could you actually give him your dumplings???
AND THEN I DID IT - I GAVE HIM THE DUMPLINGS.
Later found out it was the coldest June night in a decade, and I felt really good.

I'm always nice, lol! We (well me, but usually the boys come too) volunteer with a local grassroots charity that helps families with young children. So we did that on Thursday. Tomorrow I am throwing a bbq for one of my friends who is a missionary in Africa and is back for a few weeks to visit. It means cleaning up my disaster of a house, so that is a VERY nice thing! :)

Just kidding. No, today I found a dog wandering loose so I picked her up and knocked on a few doors and found her (douche bag) owners. She was a sweet little maltese, too. No collar. I'm lucky I found her owners so fast. Especially with as hot as it was out today. :/

Last night I made a really yummy dinner for my family, gave our son a bath, read lots of books to him before putting him to bed, all while hubby relaxed from his stressful day at work....then I rubbed hubby's.......;) Good times!

Yesterday the girls and I went to a neighbours house who is elderly and disabled, we weeded her gardens, planted her annuals and I fixed her fence. Then we went home and baked cookies and lemon poppy seed cake and took some to the librarians and the ladies who work at the senior center.
We try to do something nice for someone else at least once or twice a week. And more often when we have more time.
