Not quite a debate, but you on debating mums are the best.

Im having a really hard job picking a boys name. I had lots of girls names picked and when i found out its a boy, im shocked at how few boys names i like.

I have a girl Liesel-Mai (Lee-zul) and a boy Blake so something to go with that. Baby name websites have so many names i cant even read its putting me off looking through them. I like unusual names, but not names he will get picked on at school. Or if anyone knows if there is a boys names thread that would be fab help too!! Thanks Ladies :-)

Yeah the issue with names that have other meaning is it gets confusing! Imagine saying, 'I was going into the store but I thought I saw chaos over there so i stopped to see what was going on.'

You wouldn't every know that chaos was a person!

Emma and April, I know what you mean. I would prefer it ruined with a goofy reason than someone just saying they hate it. I can understand if some funky nickname will come out of it...that can be discouraging and make you see the alternatives...but that is why I did NOT tell anyone our daughters name until she was born!

@ Marina....isn't it funny how other people's perceptions of names can influence our decision? I LOVED the name Jayden and was set to name my son Jayden. Then, my mother kept saying, "If you name him Jayden, I am gonna call him Gay-Jay". And, she did. She kept on saying Gay-Jay and it ruined the name for us! Now, I am not homophobic but it was pretty annoying to have to hear Gay-Jay very time we talked about our unborn child.

My son's little buddy's name is Koen. I like it because it isn't common or overused but still contemporary. It sounds cool and fresh with out being too extrordinary.

Emma, Caleb was one of the names we were thinking about for Lucas...when we told my mom the possible name, she said "don't you dare name my grandchild glub glub" that is the noise saying it makes to her...she hated that name...

I think Liam goes with Liesel. Brandon, Bryce, Byron all go with Blake. My neighbor's son is Sebastian Blake. Try to say the names together: Liesel-Mai, Sebastian, and Blake. Or Leisel-Mail, Liam and Blake.

My son's name is Zachary, so I am partial to that!

I loved the name Easton for a boy. I know it's not traditional, but I just loved that name.
I loved Andrew too. I have 2 girls so this is fun for me.
Do you have any family members you can name him after as a tribute? That's what I did with my second daughter.
I used to babysit two boys named Blake and Bryson.
Anyways I'm rambling sorry.
I'm sure I'll come up with more.

I like Ivan (what our baby would have been named had she been a boy) and Laim. They have always been two of my favorite boy names :)

I am also partial to Cameron (Cam for short - so cute!), Ethan, Drew and Percy (yes, I got that one from the Percy Jackson books that my daughter and I read together, but I love the name! lol).

Good luck and congrats! I never got to name any boys 'cause I ended up with 3 beautiful little girls :)

Graceson is a good uncommon boys name. Along with Everett, Cael, Seth, Albert, Edmund, and Bryson.

When we picked our girl's name we wanted an uncommon but name people recognize that sounded nice with our last name. We found using the social security name database was really helpful for coming up with ideas. http://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/

My son's name is Liam although, that's probably too close in sound to your daughters...

What about Braden? Malachai? Aiden? Eldon?

Lucas is my sons name...so I of course of it. If I had a boy instead of my girl...I would have named him Lincoln so I could call him Link for short. I also like Alister.
