Ok I know this isn't a debate, but Erin does that mean you don't support public schools, public roads or the police? So you don't use those things?

Oh BTW, our Founding fathers never meant for the Constitution to be taken literally, Ciao

Hi Megan - A chook is what Australians call Chickens! So a Chook house is a chicken coop. (I only know because I have friends in Australia). :) xx

I'm from the United States of America. I have three children and one on the way, ages 14, 13, and 3. I am part Cherokee and part English. I have a certification in Cosometology. I am currently studying for my BA in Legal Studies. I am also a member of Phi Theta Kapp Honor society. I am a Christian, and a Libertarian Centrist. My hobbies include political debate, crochet, Karaoke, video games etc. I'm also a photo effects artist (hobby) and have over ten years of experience.

I also self study poltics, social issues, government styles, governmnet manipulation of the people, and media bias. I have volunteered as a board member of a non-custodial parents rights organization, helping ncps retain or enforce rights to their children, asssit with advice in modifying unreasonable child support orders, and even reversing custody from abusive custodial parents. I have also spoken to former Iowa Gov Chet Culver to advocate equal custody as a law (with reasonable exception), to the Board of Hawk-i Kids (SCHIP Program) on behalf of non custodial parents right and need to enroll their children in the program. I am currently brainstorming and advocating sliding scale based community day care for Iowans, and a flat percentage child support award that adjusts with income to put a stop to child support arrears and to increase child support when income increases.

I am a firm believer in balance, fairness, and equality among parents. I strongly oppose any redistribution of wealth, socialst laws, CPS involvment in families lives or the use of taxes which do not meet the criteria of the Constitution. I find almost all taxes or uses of taxes suspect.

My family consists of my hubby, a teenage daughter and twin two year old girls. We live in the Ohio (midwest USA). My husband and I have been together 15 years, married for 14. Until having the twins we both worked full time outside of the home, I now work from home thanks to my wonderful empolyer! Life is pretty hetic with a 'troubled teen'. I say that most kindly, we love her dearly but she has had some horrible incidents in her life that have affected her mental health and it is quite a struggle at times for her and us. Our twins have SPD (sensory processing disorder). As far as activites, we try to take the eldest for some personal time away from her sisters. We love camping, hiking, going to the zoo and swimming as a family.

I'm 35. I'm Canadian, although I spent half my childhood in West Africa. I now live in Calgary. I have 3 boys, ages 4, 2.5, and 4 months. Before my oldest was born, I was a social worker and worked for Child Protection, doing adoptions. I've been a SAHM since he was born. I've just started running an in-home daycare.

I love decorating cakes and scrapbooking, although with 3 boys 4 and under, I don't have much spare time for stuff like that! I also like going places with my boys. I love travelling too.

I'm 45, from Leeds in Yorkshire, England. I have one son, aged 13 and I've been a single mum since he was born. I've been with my current partner for over 4 years but still don't live together. I work full time and have since my son was 11 weeks old. My mum lives nearby and she has looked after him when I've been at work - which is lucky as I tend to work very long hours. I love to cook, especially baking cakes. My son has no contact with his father and has no desire to either. I also go to the movies a lot, but action/adventure - I don't do the old Rom-Coms - they tend to annoy me!! I read crime thriller books too and my favourite TV shows are things like CSI and Criminal Minds, plus sci fi like Star Trek and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Finally, I'm an atheist - which tends to invite people wanting to 'convert' me so I will say now, I am very happy being an atheist so please don't try and tell me how much better my life would be with whatever God you happen to believe in! I respect your right to believe in whatever you want, please respect mine to not share those beliefs! Thank you! :)

I'm a 27 yo mum of two from England. My son is 2 1/2 and my daughter was a year old a couple of weeks ago. We struggled with infertility before finally getting pregnant with my son (after 3 years and being told adoption was our option).

I have a degree in psychology and I worked as a sales development executive before we decided I'd be a sahm until the children are at school. I love being a sahm and spending my days with my kids. When I do go back I am seriously considering re training as a midwife.

I love baking and am exploring my new hobby of cake decorating, I'm getting bolder each time and am already planning my next cakes. I also love reading fictional books, I like crime/ murder but also enjoy romance and fantasy, if I'm told a book is good I will give it a try though, it's rare I read a book I don't enjoy (I've only ever stopped reading two books because they were awful books). I am enjoying cooking more and more as I find it gives me a break from the children, although my eldest likes to help now so I can see that refuge falling by the wayside for a bit :-) I started running every other day but have changed to walking because the running hurt my knees too much.

Hi, I'm 46, live in Alberta. My kids are 13 boy, 14 girl, 16 boy and 18 girl. Hubby and I have been married for 4 1/2 years. Divorced from my ex would have been our 21st ann this year.

We live on a farm so have lots of room to do as I wish. The school is 11 miles away(10 min) and the town I go to for groceries is 26 miles away (30 min). The timing thing is for those of you who live in bigger centers and it takes 10 min to run to the store 6 blocks away.

I love to cook and bake. I do some dabbling in cross stitch. I like to garden a little. Only 64 hills of potatoes and 2 50 ft rows of carrots. Along with 15 tomatoes I started as seeds and have transplanted to pots and 8 peppers.

We have horses and I love to go riding, although the stiffness the next day is almost more than punishment for a good time. (Kinda like a hangover. Lol!) Just need to do it more regularly. Because of having both ACL's replaced in my knees a few years ago, I can't do carpentry which is what I was trained for. (I can't get on my knees). I'm hoping to get into doing some scrollsaw woodwork. We also have 2 dogs and several cats. I mow grass and that takes about 8 hrs to get the whole yard done, so if I don't do it all at once it is just a daily thing.

My 14 yr old lives with us full time and the 13 yr old still bounces back and forth. (I have the visitation access) The 16 yr old has decided to stay with his dad and farm and the 18 yr old is in Edmonton in school and working part time.

I am a stay at home mom and love it. As you can see, a stay at home mom who does nothing all day long cause the kids are in school. lol

I'm 30 (almost 31) and I live in the central Okanagan in British Columbia (I share a city with a few other members on here) however I'm originally from Western New York so it's a big change for me. But I've been here nearly a year now and aside from the lack of fun TV (Bridezilla's- we don't have DIVA and I haven't seen WE since I moved here) it's pretty much my home now.

I have 3 to 5 children depending on what day it is. I have two girls my oldest is almost 8 from my first marriage and my baby just turned 15 months. My husband is very into video games (he just graduated from CATO here) and I have to remind him to eat and put the dishes away- and take care of his laundry. I also have two cats Dandy's a year and Chloe is 7 months. My husband and I have been married for just over a year, but we've been together for five years- we're animation dorks and met on a now defunct messageboard.

As for hobbies I love doing Cross country jumping, but I can't find a farm up here to start out at. I also do a lot of writing and reading. I'm decent at baking too.

I live in New Bruswick, Canada with my husband and two boys, who are almost 6 and 3 1/2. I work for the federal government - in a dept that most do not like, so I will not say lol
My boys are awesome and amazing, so I spend most of time with them. In the summer we go camping pretty much every weekend and vacation or spend time on my dads farm. I have a horse - Oakley, he is also pretty darn amazing, so have to find time to spend with him too - luckly he lives at my dad's farm so the boys can come with me most times and they love it there.
Between my 3 boys - the 2 I gave birth too, and the one with 4 legs :) - I dont have much spare time, but if I do, I try to fit in Zumba, reading and occassionally some housework lol
I totally despise the cold however, so usually in the winter we dont go outside unless required. That is when we like to spend time swimming at the local indoor pool, visit museums, bake - my boys LOVE to bake and I guess I do some cleaning.

I'm originally from New Mexico, but most recently hail from Kentucky. I'm an active duty US Army soldier, and I'm stationed in South Korea. I'm married and have a 2 year old boy who's totally awesome. I love video games, music, artsy things, nerdy things, and sleeping, which I don't seem to do enough of. I'll hopefully be going back to school next spring to finish my bachelor's in nursing, at which point I'll be direct commissioned as a medical officer. I love cats. Yeah.

I'm an Aussie of English/Swiss descent and live in Sydney with hubby and 3 kids (G 11, B 9, G 7). We've just moved house (gahhh) and now look forward to being a human being and starting some hobbies and interests other than looking for houses! I work 3 days a week for the state govt in the environment dept (in native forestry policy). We all love being out in the open and exploring the national parks around Sydney, but these days because all the kids play soccer we spend our weekends going to soccer matches (which is fun).

I like riding bikes and hanging out with friends drinking coffee and debating...

I like hearing about all your lives because I can't believe what an interesting bunch you are!

I'm 40 years old (almost 41), married to my husband for 3 years but we've been together for 9 years. We have one son, Jacob, who is 4. Before I had Jacob, I was a career cashier/waitress but I've been a SAHM since he was born (except for a few months when I went back to work and it didn't work out lol). As for hobbies? I like to cook, read (I would love to read more than I actually do), I dabble in gardening and lately I've picked up cross-stitching again. I used to cross-stitch all the time and it just sort of fell by the wayside years ago but I'm really enjoying doing it again :)
We live in a tiny village in upstate NY called Penn Yan but I was born and raised in Florida and am trying really hard to make this my home now. My husband's family lives in this area, which is why we moved here, so that Jacob could grow up around grandparents. But I'd be back in Florida in a heartbeat if I had my druthers lol

I am working on visiting all 50 states, and am approximately half way to that goal. I have two girls, almost 15 and almost 16. They are 10 months apart and were both born extremely prematurely. (Almost) 16yo DD is asthmatic, (almost) 15 yo has Aspergers, OCD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. I am highly educated (BS, MBA) and working on a second masters in psychology. I work for the government. Hobbies include traveling (next trip NYC, yay!), reading (which I rarely have time to do) and music. I don't play but I love to dance and meet new, talented musicians. I have been a single mom since my youngest was 1, but have a guy now for the past four years.

I live just outside of Albany, NY, USA. I'm 28 soon to be 29 and I'm already mourning my last year before 30 ;) My hubby and I will celebrate 7 years of marriage in August. We have been together since we were 15. We have 2 kids. Kadence is 2.5 and Gavin will be 6 months tomorrow. I have my AAS and BS in early childhood education. I have held a few jobs since I was 16 but my most recent employment was at a daycare. I was the toddler teacher for 3 years, the kindergarten teacher for 2 years and a floater/after-school care for 1 year. I left when my daughter was born to finish my BS. The plan was for me to get a good job after I finished school but I got a surprise pregnancy during my final semester. We can't afford 2 children in daycare so I am still a SAHM for now. I am looking for overnight employment but no luck yet :(

I like to read and draw house floor plans and hanging around on COM. I am NOT a domestic goddess! I dislike cooking and cleaning. When hubby isn't working we like to hike. We started a giant (giant for 1st timers) veggie garden this spring and we are hoping for a good turn out. We already have some peppers growing and hopefully the tomatoes, summer squash, broccoli, green beans, cucumbers, strawberries and cantaloupe follow suit. :)

I would love to open my own daycare or pre-school, but that would require start up money and we are broke. Someday......

Oh! Celeste, I forgot to mention I have NF and ADHD too. I was not diagnosed until I was a teen--my family was homeless so regular doctor visits were out, and I was living fairly healthily until a large cluster of tumors were discovered on my spine. While in the hospital, I was also diagnosed with lymph node cancer and Grave's disease. It turned out to be a wonderful thing though because it was while I was in the hospital that I started my first company, met my best friend, and met the man who would become my husband!

I was born and raised in southwestern Ontario, Canada, but have always felt like a bit of a foreigner because I'm Mexican Mennonite and the small town I grew up in (and moved back to after 7 years in the big city!) felt over-run by these weirdos and were extremely unfriendly to us/them. (I could pass as not, but then felt like a Judas) It's getting better now. I also felt like a foreigner with my extended family and community because my parents were odd in their dedication to education and travelling, and also I can't speak the language properly. (Low German) It's a big part of my personality. (I also married a Mexican Menno and am delighted to be caught up in his enormous family - 2 parents, 8 kids, 7 kids-in-law, 14 grandbabies!)

I work very part-time (one day a week during the school year) as an English-as-a-Second-Language teacher to adult women. I love it. My husband watches our son during those days, because he's self-employed and can do that. I have a son who will be 3 in December, and I'm 4 months pregnant. I'm 30. I'm really enjoying my son, he is delightful as a two-year-old. (but was hellish as a baby, and I'm so scared about this next one)

I love reading. I love being outside. I have a somewhat child-like (or childish?) attitude toward things; ziplines, boardgames, and toboganning in the snow are fun, talking about kitchen layout and shopping are boring. I hate my spring allergies, which are currently causing me to squint like a one-eyed pirate because my one eye itches so badly! (I'm not taking the drugs because of my little passenger... some people say you can, but my doctor says he prefers that other doctors' patients be the guinea pigs for drugs, so I'm holding out for now.... arghh, matey!)

My husband built raised beds last fall, and I'm determined that this year we WILL have a garden! It's planted, it's watered, it's sprouting. I have set my heart on getting a better yield than last summer, which was 7 tomatoes and a half-rotten pepper. (what, you can't go away for three weeks in the heat of summer and never water or weed? What is this nonsense?)

I miss my little sister. She lives in Ottawa which is a 6-hour drive away. She's all smart and sophisticated. We talk almost every day even though our lives have basically nothing in common. I have some friends with toddlers, which is really nice. We do playdates a lot, and because we were friends before we had kids, it's easier to talk about something other than the children.

I will be 27 shortly, I've been married to my husband for nearly 5 years, we've been together for 8 years. I have 3 kids, all girls; a 3 year old, and my twin one year olds. I'm a SAHM by choice, but aspire to one day be a lactation consultant or possibly work for HeadStart (a homevisit preschool operation.) But, I won't be starting down that path for quite some time (I plan on homeschooling.)

I was raised, and still live in a very small, very conservative town in Wisconsin, USA. It wouldn't be so bad if I weren't bisexual and Pagan! lol

I dabble in lots of things, I enjoy cooking, but I wouldn't consider it a hobby. I HATE baking! lol I love to scrapbook and start new gardens and work in old gardens. I love to read, basically anything, but I'm a sucker for classics and books from that generation. As a family, we love to visit museums and zoos, we frequently go camping, hiking and fishing and love being outdoors. We have a fire in our backyard at least once a week complete with games, s'mores and snuggly blankets!

Well, I am 35 years old, from the west coast of British Columbia, Canada, and have been married for 7 years. We have a 3 1/2 year old daughter and I am expecting a new addition this November. I am trained as a social worker, but currently work full-time as a major projects administrator for a construction-related company. I am very much looking forward to my year off with my new child. I loved it the last time.

My husband is a physicist and technician and works at a particle accelerator at our local university. My daughter is in full-time preschool/daycare and is working on listening better. She also does ballet, swimming lessons and is excitedly awaiting the start of her soccer classes. My main hobby is gardening, we do a lot of veggies and herbs. I find a bit of time for reading and X-Box fitness. My husband and I both volunteer for committees in our co-op and special events in the community.

I am the regional communications coordinator for a multi-national non-profit. (Me get paid to write pretty!) I have one son who will be three years old in August, and we're hoping for another child soon.

Right now my hobbies are fairly minimal, mostly due to a lack of time. But I read quite a bit and do dabble a bit in photography (mostly photos of my kid and of nature), and keep scolding myself to resume my violin lessons.

For hobbies I like to read and bake and be outside. I don't anticipate having a job any time soon because my husbands job takes him away from home so much, so I guess I will just become a domestic goddess.

I live in upstate SC, USA. I am Native American, but there is Romany (gypsy) and Anglican (not sure about that, but my son has red hair!) mixed in. Most of my family is still on reservation.

I have one child, a 7 year old son whom I call J on here. He plays Baseball, guitar, and is testing for his Black Belt in Taekwondo in August.
My husband is an industrial systems engineer with a small firm.
I am an entrepreneur--I have started 4 businesses, but I only own 2 at this time (sold the first 2). One is an office building, the other is a little photography company that specializes in product and portfolio photography (More of a hobby, but I did well this winter). I do not accept jobs in the summer so that I can stay home or travel with my family, so right now, I classify myself as a sahm.

We LOVE to travel, and do so often--J has been to 6 different countries, but we are staying domestic for now and exploring the states.

I am passionate about working with the homeless to help them become productive members of society. I was homeless for 9 years as a child, and lived in my car during my late teens until I was 21. I spearhead a program at our local shelters helping homeless mothers find jobs. My son and I both also help with an Art therapy program, reading program, and various fundraisers. (My husband helps too, but his work is rather demanding, so he doesn't have a lot of time for volunteering).

Two of my kids have a genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis Type 1. NF1 causes benign tumors to appear anywhere on the body. My daughter has an optic glioma (tumor on her optic nerve) and a large tumor underneath her tongue. Also has ADHD (about 60% of people with NF1 have ADHD) and sensory issues. One of my twins has NF1 as well. He is developmentally delayed, but he's catching up.

I am a runner. I've run 2 half marathons, a bunch of 5K's and a couple of 10K's. My goal right now is to run 1 race a month, and I've accomplished that so far. I've got 8 races down. Unfortunately, I don't look like your average runner..I'm a bigger girl (been working on that though)

I volunteer in Girl Scouts, and I volunteer in my Mothers of Multiples Club.

I am Canadian and have two kids 14 (almost) and 19 months. I am a software engineer and have been for 7 years now. I love playing with my son and hanging out with my daughter (when she lets me, lol). I also love going for walks, with my boy, dog and husband (my daughter is too cool for that now). The most wonderful part of my life is my family and taking care of each kid and my adoring husband.
