It requires you to eat meat at every meal, and half a grapefruit. It's not just grapefruit lol.

Breakfast is 2 strips bacon, 2 eggs, 1/2 grapefruit.

lunch is salad, with MEAT, preferably light on or without cheese and cream based dressings. Croutons (bread in general) is a no no. And- half a grapefruit

Dinner- meat and non starchy veggies, can be a salad.

It's virtually no-carb. It claims you lose 5 lbs on the fifth day and a pound a day every day after, you do it for like 10 days and then take a break for 2 days, repeat.

That's the grapefruit diet in a nutshell.

Being anorexic in my early twenties would probably top the list. Can it be called a diet if you don't eat?

You do lose lots of weight though ;).

you know whats bad..i have yet to meet my calorie goal...lol..they will add my calories burned during exercise with my daily calorie intake. So lets say i burn 800 doing karate and did 500 at the gym that day..that will add 1300 to the amount i'm allowed to consume for the day and i barely get 890 in a day..i get much if i force it...i always think what i am eating is worth more than it is...i'll punch my food in and it will be like 60 calories..lol..so i what..go eat 100 more..doubtful..I lost 9 in the last what..2 weeks...now i have to switch up my workout so i don't hit a plateau...i'm always under by hundreds...lol

Tah, I have heard that the water with lemon wedges in it works well. I know of someone who eats tuna and peanut butter....barf..that's all I gotta say about that one.

[deleted account]

No diets other than giving birth and breastfeeding. I also had the 'break up diet' after giving birth to my son... and breastfeeding. At 34 I still have a pretty fast metabolism and have to eat pretty much all the time. Of course, I'm wondering if that will change when my son weans......

Thats a huge intake of mercury from a whole weeks worth of tuna for a moth or two , in fact that could be dangerous !

A little tuna a week is healthy but too much in the diet is not advisable .

my brother and nephew do the tuna diet..nothing but tuna all week, as much as you want with lots of water with slices of lemon cut into them...then on the weekends they eat as much as they want, so if we have a family get together on a weekday, they come and start making platters to eat that weekend.....it works also..i mean..in 2-3 weeks you almost saw us on intervention..lol.if they slip up during the week then they replace that day with a full tuna day either sat or sun....they do it for about a month or 2..then just do portion control..if they put a couple back on, or an event is coming up...they start again..and again it works...im not sure how much i like them right now...lol

I went on the Nikkole. Phentermine? It was fantastic with a 3 month old and doing night feeds was a piece of piss and so was exercising! Then I stopped taking it and got pregnant again. I agree the break up diet and the just left school have to fend for yourself diet is the best. I looked pretty good when I was working 6 days a week and partying and fucking non stop or crying over my boyfriend leaving me for someone else.

I stay away from 'diets' and calorie counting at all costs.
When I was in high school I spent a good portion of grade 10 and 11 going between feverishly counting every calorie and gram of fat that went into my mouth and hitting a slump where I just wanted to give up and I would binge for week. I still have the notebooks from that time and it's scary how little I ate some weeks. I'm always afraid I will fall back into that pattern so I just don't do 'fad diets' or anything that requires calorie counting.
Instead, in grade 12, I had a smokin' hot date for prom, so I was determined to lose weight so I started Curves and I just stopped eating junk food and within a month I lost 13 total inches (all over) and 15lbs. In the three months that I went, I lost 40lbs in total.
I wish I could afford to go again. :(

I would have to say the skinniest I ever was when I was on the " I just moved out of home , have no money , smoke way too much weed and dance for 24hours straight on the weekends diet " lots of fun I wouldn't recommended it though I was so unhealthy back in those days , ah to be young LOL.

LOL the getting dumped diet sucked. The best way I keep in shape now is to adapt a healthy all round diet. It doesn't always work but I gain a bit and loose a bit. If I do pick up I cut out oil and sugar as much as possible - O and diary. I can't eat cardboard so my rule is kind of like this 2 weeks eat healthy 2 weeks not so hard on me. My friend who is really tiny eats like she works, 5 days a week healthy and 2 days chill and she ultinates between events.

Diet, what's a diet? In fact what is exercise? Shoot, I was barely 100 lbs soaking wet when i was 25. Then I got preggers and gained 60-65 lbs. I'm now roughly 125 lbs and honestly it looks good on me. I don't look sick anymore. Although, I could stand to tone up the baby fat and the ass but I don't have the will power or the discipline.

When I was 23 or 24 I went to a pub and the had the waitress tell me I looked like I need to eat a cheeseburger. i told her to lay off of them. I used to get super offended because random strangers would comment on my weight. "You are so skinny!" or Wow, you are tiny!" Used to piss me off to no end.

My best friends Mom used to be almost 400 lbs and is now smaller than me LITERALLY using weight watchers, though.

Worst diet I have ever gone on was concocted by me and a friend of mine in high school. We both bought our grad dresses a year early, then realized we had to stay the exact same size for a full year... all I ate my entire senior year was ceaser salad, chicken breast, toast and raman noodles. Every day, for a full year... I don't know what my weight was, as it was all about staying a size 7, but I know that the day I put my dress on and went for our grad dinner, I pigged out on roast beef, potatoes, salad (not ceaser) and as much dessert as i could get. Nothing had ever tasted so good.

I always loved the break up diet. After my divorce I lost 40 lbs. I got down to my high school skinny. I met my now husband and two babies later, I could lose 20 lbs.

***this is no way implying that I plan to do another break up diet***

I don't think I have ever went on a diet. I have always been fairly tiny. I think there was one time back before I had kids where I cut back on my snacking and portions to try to lose a few pounds, but that was all. I like chocolate and chips. Oh and cake :-)

I don't think I've ever tried a specific diet really - just tried to cut back on junk and eat healthy. I used to be in great shape and ate well all the time and worked out (that was when I even worked at a gym). Now I eat healthy meals during the day but when the kids are in bed it's an all-out pig-out fest until bedtime! :S But I agree Doreen that having your heart broken is a great way to lose weight - I would always seem to lose some weight when I was single.

I did the low carb diet a few years ago. I lost 40 pounds but I was so constipated it was ridiculous

[deleted account]

I'm really boring the only diet I have ever done is Weight Watchers and I lost loads of weight nearly 3 stone, and then I quit and put it all back on again, plus some so I rejoined and weight again.

I have to say I am quite chuffed at the mo I was weighed by the midwife yesterday and I'm actually lighter than when I was going to WW 6 months ago - so not only have I maintained my weight loss I have lost more weight and I'm pregnant - go me yay!!!!! (sorry I really am chuffed)

"laci, grapefruit isn't meat, i'm confused by your post, lol!"

I went to Job Corps and the campus I was on had all these stupid hills! we had to walk up the hill to go eat, go to class, go to the recreation center, everything! Plus the food was so nasty that I started putting hot sauce on all of the food to make it taste better, gave myself an ulcer! Lost 45 pounds though. gained it all back after I had my daughter!

I can't remember what it was called, but it made me eat beets and I puked. So I tried throwing the beet pieces to the back of my throat and taking it like it was pills and I still puked...

I lost weight lol. Puking will do that.

I actually loved the "grapefruit diet" even though everyone else I know hated it. I don't eat meat anymore, so I can't do it. But it actually worked really well (probably because I'm a carb-o-holic) and I LOVE grapefruit :D I could have seriously lived like that, had I not gone veggie.
