Would you get a Mommy Make Over (plastic surgery)? yes/no why?

After reading the debate on Baby Fat, I thought about how many of us would get the Mommy Make Over, plastic surgery for the extra skin, boob lift, tummy tuck etc?
Many of my friends have done so. At first I felt really inadequate when I met these Moms and they looked so great after two or three kids, breast feeding and then one day a Mom showed us her boob lift(yeah that was werid) but all of a sudden all these Moms in the group were talking of their surgeries!
I was like now I know why they look so good and i well look normal I suppose.
Do you think their is pressure to look like we never had a baby after we have them? I do esp. if you look at celebs who have babies and then are wearing bikinis and 3 months after birth. But now my friends make me feel pressured too.
I go back and forth on the surgery thing,
Cons it is expensive, I wonder if I really would want to spend the money heck I could go on a real nice vacation, put it towards a retirement home, new car etc...
The other con is I could die, leave my kids and family all for the sake of vanity.
I have not done it yet....but I do sometimes think about it.

I like the sound of that Laura, but the foot is supposed to be one of the most painful places to tattoo.

I wouldn't do an out and out entire Mommy Makeover. I've had liposuction before on my thighs. I used to workout 5-6 days a week and had saddlebags that would not go away no matter how much I worked out. It was hard to find pants that fit me properly.I don't regret the lipo and have actually considered getting lipo in a few other areas. Maybe a breast lift and lipo but that would be the extent of it. I think if a woman is comfortable with her body then plastic surgery isn't needed but I don't have any issue with women that want to get it done. I think it's personal preference. I too wish there weren't so much pressure to look pre-baby even after post-baby.

I want a tattoo, but I'm scared of it! Scared of the pain, scared of the possibility it goes wrong, scared I don't like it....
I want a vine, growing from the outside of the top of my foot, and a leaf for every child, in the leaf would be subtle writing including the child's name and birthdate. It would grow as tall as needed for every child I have. And my name and my husbands names would be in the roots.

Do you all think that would look good?

I'm a very natural person.
I don't wear make up
I don't style my hair with any products
Idont curl or straighten my hair
I don't dye my hair
I don't pain my nails
I only wear earrings fir special occasions
I only have the standerd two piercings, one in each ear
I only shave my legs in the summer
I don't use perfume
I have never waxed
I cut my own hair

I think I look sexy, my husband thinks I look sexy. But I'm only 22 so I wonder what I'll think ten, twenty years from now.
But I hope instill think I'm sexy, and I'm confident matt will always think I'm sexy :)
Oh and matt says most men don't care what boobs look like as long as they get totouch them :D
He loves my lopsided boobs even if I don't.

I used to say that I would never do anything like that, then for a while I thought I would like to get a boob lift - now that I've found something else though, I have no need for surgery of any kind - bye-bye loose skin, bye-bye cellulite WOOHOO!!!!

no surgery for me. I earn every one of these wrinkles and enjoy every ounce of food that will cause any fat. I think we put more pressure on ourselves than anyone else does. if i want to have a better looking hour glass figure, i'm buying a corset. screw surgery. no way here. they also have inserts to lift things here and there. my face is who i am. i'm not changing that. it's just not worth the risks, money, ....nope. just not for me. i've had three kids. I have stretch marks on my boobs and loose skin, but...I'm a mom. No one really sees that but my husband. And as long as he still thinks i'm hot, who cares?

Sorry I was away for a couple days, my son came to visit and then I got sick.. but any who I did read 85% of the comments.
I agree beauty should not be skin deep, just like I believe I should not lie or steal but I have done both in my life time.
Ethics are good but for me it is not always realistic to think us humans can be so happy and well adjusted etc that we don't get insecure.
I do tell myself love your body, it gives you so much and I have battled a life threating illness and in the end I will take my life with my saggy boobs, body imperfections etc.
That being said I get insecure due to the fact that altering/using plastic surgery to ones body to be a certain ideal of beauty is now a very normal thing to do in many parts of the world. It has altered what is normal. I look at people like celebs and think really you had no work done and had twins and look like that! Then I tell myself well they are in the business to look good. But now my neighbor has the body of a celebrity and my Mother in law looks 15 years younger than someone her age.
It had gotten to a point that aging normally or the way our bodies change naturally is NOT accepted anymore.
You have to have the self esteem from hell not to be hurt by judgment from others. I am not overweight but I am certainly a 40 plus Mom who gave birth 3 times. I feel upset that I can't find clothes for my "normal boobs/body"
Some things you can improve at they gym and eating right etc but lets face it after you boobs have been blown up to a size E a few time and back to a C and your tummy skin has stretched out a few times to accommodate 3 humans the skin just won't go back! Not to matter what exercise you do !
I look back at photos of my grandmothers and women in my family and see a big difference on how they looked and how woman today look at the same age. They looked great but by today's standards I don't think people would say that. The standard has changed so much due to plastic surgery! Look at desperate housewives, most mom's their age don't look like that naturally! Come on! Before you say only celebs look like that I highly disagree, now it seems almost everyone is looking like that.
So it leaves me feeling like I am not normal looking.
In the end I probably won't have surgery, but I do think I will have some insecurity at times. I also feel it would be nice to be able to wear clothes for my unaltered body. Sorry rambling a bit .... my 2 year old is running around trying to get my attention! got to go :)

You know, my fiance and I were screwing around on the internet today and we ended up on this site that was something like, rate my boobs, or something like that. What started out as a kind of gross out laugh, amazed us. They were all non-porn folks, just regular old boobs, the majority of them real...some good fakes now and then. However, the top rated breasts were so scary looking to me...real low hanging, obviously someone who had kids, non-fake boobs. There were breasts of all shapes and sizes...some flat, some flabby, a couple of the ladies even had a bunch of armpit hair...and I gotta tell you, not ONE of them did not have a comment like, "Those are so hot." or "Wow, I love me a hairy woman." I am not shitting you.

Honestly, it really opened my eyes to the fact that, no matter who you are, no matter how bad you may think your breast look, there are dozens of men out there who would only hope to get a peek at them. There is some dude out there who would see your breasts and say those are the most beautiful things they've ever seen.

Really, weird experience, but completely revealing all the same.

So, yeah, I don't really like the look of fake boobs and mine still look pretty good. However, if it makes you happy, go for it. But, I gotta say, don't fool yourself into thinking you gotta do it to get yourself some male attention because apparently, they just like boobs...no matter what they look like...as long as they are boobs.

I found the most AWESOME bra at Victoria's Secret and got one (by request) for a birthday present (from hubby.. the one I am separated from now but neither of us are dating anyone else, etc..)- it's called the "Miracle Bra" LOL... I LOVE IT!! It makes you two full cup sizes bigger, and it isn't the water or just padding.. it's like that memory foam stuff so it's more "realistic"... so far since my breast cancer lumpectomies I have been able to find the prosthetics at Victoria's secret, one kind just kind of "pushed up" what you already have- for me it didn't really work, then the insert that makes you one cup size bigger- which really worked well as I had my first surgery on one breast in 2003 and they took out the cancer along with 4 inches of tissue (I didn't think there was even 4 inches of tissue in there to begin with LOL)-- so those made me feel non-lopsided.. then the bras they started coming out with as the tissue starting regenerating in my body were GREAT and I have sworn by them ever since!! They made you one size bigger, non-fake looking.. now this new one-- WOW-- (oh yeah, second surgery was in 2005 on other breast.. just after the first one finally filled back in of course :-/ but no cancer in those lumps!! :).. this new one is push up and makes you two sized bigger LOL.. I tried it on and my husband was like "WOW- where did those come from?" HAHA... uses my real body for cleavage so it may be "false advertising" as my husband puts it- but I don't care because no one else will ever see the real thing.. at least now for a VERY long time ;) Just sayin'....

The only thing that I would want to get is a boob job/lift. BUT it would have to be one of those scarless boob lifts. I was looking at photos of people after their lifts and I hate the "lollipop cut" and such. It leaves horrible marks, and my skin is so fair they would probably be a dark purple color, and would just ruin my boobs. I would do it for me not for anyone else though.

I have a silhouette of a monkey hanging from a limb tattooed on my skull just behind my left ear. It has a special story behind it that dates back to before my husband and I were even dating. I think meaningful tattoos are beautiful and I love the intricately drawn ones, but my little monkey is probably all I will ever have done because I have a hard time committing to something big.

As for plastic surgery, I would get it if I needed it, or even wanted it. I am one of only 4 or 5 moms I know who have not had something done, mostly routine lipo, tummy tucks, and breast lifts. My pregnancy weight came off and I was able to tone up nicely through the use of a strict diet and exercise program, but if that hadn't worked, I would have used surgery to get my body to the way I like it.

I don't think we need to be perfect, and don't feel any pressure to be perfect, but I like being pretty, it makes me feel good, and so I make an effort to keep myself pretty. Sure, that may be vain, but just as I don't care what others think of they way I look, I also don't care if they think I'm vain. My looks are for me, and perhaps my husband, but no one else.

My one and only tattoo took about 1 1/2 hours....I think that is the longest I could sit still...maybe push it to 2 hours.

I cannot wait to get another....but it is not going to be as eccentric as either of yours. I would LOVE to start a sleeve though. I love how those look when done right, and there is a lot to see. My friend designs her own, and I would HATE to have the things she does, very cartoon character crap that means nothing....she just thinks it is bad ass cause it is a sleeve.

My latest and greatest.. the full side of my body, over the shoulder and down a bit on the chest.. the lower part goes to my butt.. I am in it now 26 hours I think?? And he thinks at least 2, if not 3 more sessions to finish with all the shading and making some of the vines thicker, etc... :p but seeing it come together has been awesome as each phase turned it slowly into the morning glories.. first phase just the outline (the ENTIRE outline though :p)- then outside shading, then inside shading on lower half, then inside shading on upper half... I am doing it all single needle "old school" style.. but I just LOVE it!! It truly is a beautiful piece!!!! :) Le maz breathing comes in handy HAHA.. but seriously, it does!! ;)

Ok.. you young ladies ;) Now I REALLY feel old HAHA... My best advice to you all: Enjoy every minute you can now.. Enjoy your children while they are young, enjoy your life while you are young (and that means whatever kind of enjoyment is right for you and you only).. because time FLIES.. it goes by SOO fast!! It REALLY feels like just a few years ago I was in my 20's... I can't believe I am 40, or that my oldest is 21 and my twin girls are going to be 16... They were my little babies!!!!! Now they are young ladies and my son is a true man, and a good one at that!!!! Don't let the little things in life get you down and make the best out of whatever situation you find yourselves in... you only live once!!!!!! One of my best friends lost her battle to breast cancer at age 38... two years younger than I am now (actually she passed away 2 days after her birthday, so LITERALLY 2 years from today of my age...)- She taught me how to enjoy life when she was dying.. and I will never forget that! Life is short, kids grow up, and we get older (HA- not OLD LMAO!!)-- ENJOY~~

I know, I know, I was going to "retire this thread".. BUT.. just wanted to state for the record, for ME, and only ME, I am professional- I dress and act that way at work.. at home or going out, I dress how I feel is appropriate for whatever outing it may be.. if it's the pool I wear my bikini, if it's a wedding I'll wear a nice dress, maybe low heels (heels are not my thing unfortunately.. I love the way the look but I look like a giraffe trying to walk in them and I have back problems they exaccerbate), and cover my tattoos if it's more of a traditional wedding.. If I am going out dancing or to a bar.. well.. if I want to wear jeans and a tank top, I will, if i want to get super sexy.. I just might! Kind of depends on the mood I am in.. and I do respect people who do not believe the way I do, and do not frown upon or look down... as I would expect them not to do the same to me :) I am VERY much a people person-- I love all sorts of kinds of people- I have a HUGE variety of friends from ultra conservative to not conservative at all.. and I can often even bring them ALL together (like last weekend for my birthday) and we all have a GREAT time together... :) Anyways-- I guess that's all I wanted to say! Sending love to all! Valerie~~

I lost interest in "debating" this a long time ago. I'm always up for discussion though. I'm fine with immodestly dressed people. Just disagree with the immodestly, you know, for religious reasons. I don't try to force my beliefs on anyone. But I do like to stick up for them (which people often take the wrong way). People often react to me stating my beliefs as judgment. I do believe that some things are just wrong, but that doesn't mean I think the people who do them are wrong. Just the actions. People think if I don't approve of everyone's actions that I am being close minded or non-accepting. But I accept everybody. I just don't agree with certain actions. It's hard being religious in a world where most people think everything is relative.

If you got a boob job for you and your husband then I guess I wouldn't disagree with it. But if you immodestly flaunted it to the rest of the world... that I would be against.
