Just wondering because my lil one isn't there yet and neither is any of her friends. But my hubby swears up and down that he had his two girls potty trained by now and they are 10 and 14. I think he has his dates mixed up.

My daughter was born on December 30, 2006 and she has been totally potty trained, day and night, since she was 2.

My daugther born 10 December 2006 was potty trained day and night at 2years2months. I count myself lucky though because some still struggle after 4.

Mine isn't yet, but he was recently diagnosed with encopresis, so we had to treat that. He was mostly trained for pee, but did regess a little bit when his brother was born. With the treatment for encopresis, and baby getting to potty training age himself, we have been making great progress, more in the last two and half weeks than the entire last two years. But I think he will definitely be trained by 5, and he already pees very well standing up, and lets us know when he has to go when we are out (sometimes at inopportune moments, lol).

Encopresis is condition where for whatever reason a child holds in their poo long enough that they develop a blockage in their colon, akin to constipation (which can be one of the triggers). They end up having accidents from poo that leaks out around the blockage, and can cause issues from stretching the colon out. Once I learned about it and realized it was a near-perfect description of the issues I was having with my son, I brought it up with his doctor, who did some research of his own, and we got my boy treated (he's still in the last part of it, it basically involves clearing the blockage, and then retraining the child how to go again, while giving him a stool softener and laxative for a few weeks to keep things moving and comfortable). They will only diagnose it after the child turns four, and it occurs in 1-3% of kids, with a larger chunk being boys. He is so proud now when he makes a BM in the toilet, and today was actually the first day he had no accidents at all, all day.

No I havent even attempted it yet. All my children werent trained until 3 and there was no pressure involved then. They could understand and fully grasp the concept. There is no need to rush the toilet training. The child wlill let you know when they are ready :)

Our little one was born December 30th, 2006 and he's completely potty trained and has been for a little over a year now. However, he still needs me to wipe his butt when he goes poo.

My daughter will be 4 in December and she has been potty trained since about a month after her 3rd birthday. She took longer because she has some setbacks with being in the hospital when she was 2 for surgery or she would have already been potty trained. She still wears a pull up to bed sometimes but she goes to preschool and does good all day long. I just don't want to clean pee sheets all the time because she is a hard sleeper.

My daughter has been since she was 2 and a half. I finally just did away w/pullups, it took 3 days, but that was it. She still wears a night time pullup though. But never any accidents during the day.

My daughter (born Dec 28, 2006) was potty trained before she turned two...reason being she is suuuuper sensitive to being dirty or wet, so she'd freak when she'd even get a little bit of pee on her undies. It happened without me even needing to train her. She trained herself. It was AWESOME.

my daughter was born december 27th. she is fully potty trained and has been since she was 2. she also went to daycare full time so that really helped. but we also went cold turkey and didnt buy pull ups. we went straight into panties and she hated being wet so she finally got the idea.

Each child is totally different- my older son wasn't potty trained untill a little before his 4th birthday, while my youngest, my december baby, is almost totally potty trained, just not at night. I am a child psychologist- you have to follow your child's lead. I started potty training my december baby- he did well- then he didn't want to do it anymore. So we BACKED OFF, and when he was ready, it happened. He became interested again when his friends at daycare all got into the swing of it. Kids pick up on their parents' anxieties and worries. If you push it too hard you may create a problem where there isn't one.

Lol. I feel so slow, and l can tell when ya'll are rolling your eyes as you type "Each kid is different, they'll get it eventually, etc." (j/k) My MIL terrified my daughter of toilets last year by leaving hr screaming on her high handicapped toilet w/ no footstool, so that put us a good bit behind. Everytime I try to pt her(she's a 12/14/06 baby), she never manages to use the potty, she's goy phenomonal control and will pee 5 minutes after getting off the toilet, no matter how long we sit there, or if I let her walk around for 4.5 mins and then put her back on the toilet. She pees through underwear like it's not there, and thinks they need to be changed. She won't tell us she has to go potty at all. And I've tried it ALL! I keep seeing "you don't see many 8 year olds in diapers, at this rate, my daughter will be. And her younger brother will be potty trained before she is. Sigh. So be proud, all those out there who are completely, partially, sometimes potty trained, there is a little girl out there who's got no interest whatsoever in being a big girl. And she's all mine. Sigh.

My eldest son was born Dec 3 2006. I started with the toilet training from about 18 months. looooooved sitting on the potty but never did anything. I've tried many many times with undies etc and I just gave up. He wasn't ready. He started daycare in January this year. After the first day he came home and said he didn't want to wear a nappy anymore. He sweet for the day and still wears a pull up at night but I think thats just for my benefit in the washing department! When they are ready they'll just click!

My daughter was born on Dec. 8 2006. She is fully potty trained. She has been for 5 months now. She even gets up in the middle of the night to pee. I don't take credit for it though. I had been trying since she was 2 and 1/2 and as soon as I put her in daycare in September of 09, she caught on in 2 weeks and has been pottying on her own ever since. No more pull-ups!

My son is getting there...he has been potty trained at night since we started almost nine months ago (no idea how that happened it just did) the only problem we got is when he is playin with friends then he pees in his pants cause he didn't want to stop playin but he is even gettin better at that now and goes to the potty by himself and does everything he is suppose to (under my watchful eye of course just to make sure or in case he needs my help for some reason)...but it does take time..a lot of time!

My son isn't. He's not even interested in trying. He'll sit on the potty for a minute and that's it. His older brother was potty trained by this age but it looks like it'll be a while before he will get it. I think he's just at a different pace. I'm in no rush though. He'll figure it out soon enough.

My little girl was 70% potty trained (no mess if you just take her often), but we had a set back when she started big school in January and now we are again back to basics....

Each child goes at their own pace, but she is currently the only one in her class that is not fully potty trained (all came from nursery schools)

My daughter was born late December 2006 and she is fully potty trained. She was pooing on the potty since 18 months old, which is extremely young but she started telling us so we went with it. However, I started potty training at 22 months and she was fully potty trained (day & night) at 2 years 4 months old. She has not worn a diaper since. You just have to take off the diaper and deal with the accidents. That is what we did. It was messy and a pain and didn't help that we had a new born as well but after a couple of weeks it gets less messy.

My daughter was born on the 7th Dec 2006, and she didn't really start until this past Christmas. She really started when she was 18 months, pooping on the potty, but it was all hit and miss so we decided to keep trying and we ended up doing lots of breaks. Then after the stress of the holidays we bought lots of panties because like someone mentioned before, pull-ups are worthless and they think they are diapers. She got it just right! She was peeing all the time without help and then telling us when she needs to poop so we can wipe. We have had a couple accidents, but no one is perfect, it has only been 3 months! And the pooping thing is the hardest for her because she isn't on a schedule to poop everyday. So we are working on that. But everyone starts at their own pace. She isnt' quite ready for panties at night time, just naps, so we are working on that too.

Just remember, you don't see a whole lot of 8 year olds walking around in diapers. He'll be ready really soon. Just start telling him all the big boys do it like this. A big incentive for our DD was going to school. We told her she can't go to school in a diaper, so she has to use the potty, which got the ball rolling!

Good luck!

Mine is and has been since just barely last month. All children are different though. Mine has been delayed in deciding to talk but is now really getting on it. Just be patient. I found that the less I pushed the more interested he was in doing things. With mine, I started in August of 2009, we sat on the potties and looked at each other and I gave him a relatively adult conversation explaining that this is where we pee so we don't get all wet. A week later he ran up to me and screamed "POTTY!" and took off running and off we went. From then I've just gone with the flow, pardon the pun, and he took each step towards completion when he was ready and then it seemed overnight he got it all just figured out. I found that teaching him dry and wet was ultimately important. When did diaper changes I would say, "Uh oh, wet. Yuck! Wet" till he understood that that's what he was feeling and that was what he didn't like.

My little girl has been potty trained since 4th of July 2009. But what you need to remember is that each child will do things on their own schedule. If you are concerned you could give her a little nudge and see if she goes for it or just wait until she decides on her own.

My daughter was completely trained at 2 1/2. I have heard that boy's can be quite a bit longer to train. If you have a son this could explain the difference between your lil one and your hubby's 2 girls. But you also need to remember that every child is different and learn at different paces.

Just as every child's personality is different, so are the potty training timelines. I am the mother of four, ranging in age from 3 to 17. Children will be completely trained when the time is right - it cannot be forced. Our first child was 3 1/2, second was 2 1/2, third was 23 months (yes - he was just under 2), and our now 3 year old is completely #1 trained and working on #2. In my opinion, what age a child is potty trained should be the least of our worries :)

All kids are different and will train when they are ready ~ even if your husbands daughter were trained early it doesn't mean your son would. Try hard to not get frustrated as that usually delays potty training.

Good Luck!

My daughter was born Dec 22, 2006. We've been training my daughter since she turned 2, but she wanted nothing to do with it until this September '09. I guess she wasn't "ready". She is not fully trained, meaning she can't go alone. We're working on showing her how to lift & clean herself now. When your child is ready you'll know.
