That is horrible Jennifer kids and b so crule sometimes, i have never actually had this problem as both mine went straight to the toilet they wouldn't use a potty. U could get 1 of those seats that goes inside of the toilet and c if he will use that. Toilets are quite frighting to kids wen they r quite young dnt know y thou. U could jst wait till he needs a poop and put he on the toilet bt tell him u will hold him and he won't fall coz it could b he might b scared in case he falls downs the toilet, that wt i did wit my 2 and after a while they were fine and started doing it themselfs x

Oh Jennifer, that sounds a bit on the frustrating side! So what happens when you can see that he needs to poop and put him on the potty? Does he bolt?

That's so disheartening to read that kids at daycare were making fun of him. : ( It seems much too young to already be starting that nonsense.

Mine Dec 2006 boy will not poop in the potty either. He doesn't hold it, and he pees just fine, even standing up (without splatters, too). I have tried just about everything, candy rewards, sticker charts, toys, nothing seems to work. I am getting a little concerned, because I will be returning to work after completing school soon, and the kids were making fun of him at daycare already before he left (Finished school in Nov, have been waiting for diploma to get job, took him out when I didn't need the time for school). He can hold it if we can't make it to a potty right away, and he loves to go on the toilet, but only pee, not poo, and it doesn't matter if it's training pants or underwear. We even offered to get him a puppy (he's actually pretty responsible with and around my cat, and I would help with training), and that didn't even work.

We had the same problem. My husband tried this thing that whenever our son would poop in the potty he would get a piece of gum. (he's not allowed to have gum so it was a special treat) Needless to say, it worked! So well in fact, that when my husband or I went poo in the potty our son would say "good job! you need a piece of gum!" LOL

mine wont either he actually leaves the room i am in and then grunts until he goes. he is also very constipated despite trying juices and other things. Maybe it hurts him to go and thats why he goes in his diaper. at least thats what mine says when hes pooping. it hurts and i dont wanna go on potty. they will go when they are ready, they all do:)! I have 4.

Ah good times, we went through that in the midst of potty training. Unfortunately, she didn't want to go in her diaper either so she'd hold it, which only caused issues. Often she wouldn't poop until she had relaxed enough in sleep to do so, then it was pain central!

What did we do...Praise, praise and more praise. We encouraged her to go in her pull-up for a time (just so she'd go), but we'd still talk about how much better it is to go in the potty. No mess, you're such a big girl, etc...For my nephew who is the same age, his mom did charts and stickers with him. He'd get to go to the store and pick out a small toy, which was held within sight, but out of reach that he would earn once he'd filled up his chart. Worked really well for him.

Good luck to you!
