how to get my toddler to stop biting?

wow im so glad im not the only one who is having this problem my 19months old lil man started biting and i am thinking its his molars or aggression i have tried everything u guys have mentioned im running out of ideas any more idea would be awesome glad though im not alone

My doctor gave me some good advise that worked for me. He said that if my son was going in for a bit and made contact to actually push his mouth into the bit so that a) it's putting the pressure of the bit back onto him and not on your skin and b) the sensation of that should shy him away from wanting to do it again. It worked for me I hope that it works for you!

Try helping your toddlers work on language alot of times they get frustrated and use bitting. I used to work with a little guy that couldnt speak. When he got angry or upset at another child he would bite them because he had a hard time communicating. We worked on words and mom also had been bitting back at home and that didnt work. Teaching a child not to bite by bitting them is not useful

Thank you it is working she is not doing as much... i think she is realizing that it hurts and that its not nice to do. :)

well the only way i got mine to stop was to bite her back.. she realized that it hurts

Thank you. i will try that the next time she bits me. I think she is soft hearted that she wouldn't want to hurt mommy...i hope...LOL.

oh wow mine did the same thing when she bites me i pretended to cry and she starting crying and she has not bitten me since so if your child is soft hearted try it and see.
