Hi my name is Lynette and i have 17 month old son he really doesn't talk that much..He knows how to say mama and daddy but for everything else he points at it..He's very smart its just the talking thing..He'll go the kitchen and get what he wants and brings it to you..He knows how to dress his self a little..now the potty training is a bit hard on me,with me being a single parent and all so..

yeah i know what u mean by the pointing thing..lol..but my son does more pointing than really trying to say anything..and by the way he caught on to how my sister says my name he called me lynette instead of mama today it was funny but at the same time i was like im mama not lynette..

Every kid is different, and gender really doesn't play much of a role - despite what everyone says. I have 2 girls and 1 boy - my son picked up on things much quicker than my youngest daughter did. My daughter is 18 months old, and she does the pointing thing A LOT. She can say the words, she just chooses not to..LOL

I dont agree with that at all. Some say that but I think tehy will all learn when they are ready there is no schedual saying they should be doing this at a certain time. For example I have a friend whos daughter is 1 month younger then my daughter and my daughter runs and talks and climbs on EVERYTHING and her daughter isnt even walking yet and barely talking she just started say bye. So there all in all, all babues are different plus its all about how much time you spend with themand help them learn. Hope this helps you.
