Hi everyone,

Welcome to the December 2007 Babies community, where we chat about our December 2007 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely December 2007 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi my name is Shelita, my son was born on the 14th. He is very, very talkative. I guess it is due to me putting him on your baby can read. He reads now and is always learning everyday. He loves to learn. He can count to 30, 10 in Spanish. He knows his letters and phonics. Now he just won't shut up. But I'm not complaining! Now if I could just get him potty trained, I would be in heaven!

Hi my name is Jasmine and my daughter Eliana was born on the 12/22/07. Eliana is doing very well considering she had a very rocky start. She has a genetic heart condition, severe GERD, milk allergy and laryngomalcia which is now cured by three surgeries. She is a bundle of energy and talks very well. She is potty training and is really doing well. She only wears pampers at night or during naps. She loves to sing, dance, and copies everything her fourteen year old sister does. She is very caring and loving. She loves Ni Hao Kai Lan and yo gabba gabba. I am very blessed to have this little miracle in my life. No matter what's going on in my life she puts a smile on my face.

He is very well on his terrrible twos, I think that's why I can't get him to start potty training. He loves hockey! and dinosaurs hehe I love him so much and I am so thankful that he is here with me. ummmp!!

Hello, my name's Elissa. I have one daughter, born on 13th December 2007. Her name's Audrey which means 'noble strength' (she is very strong, but we're working on the 'noble' :) ). She's really cute, talking a bit more now she's two. She's also weeing on the potty now (thank God!) but not so much the no.2's, bless. We go to a Steiner mum and toddler group every Monday - have been going just over a year now - and we both love it there. Also Audrey goes to nursery 3 mornings a week, which she loves. She's really sociable and very very joyful :) ... we're in south west England, in Exeter, where we've been since she was about a year old. Before then we were in Scotland, Brighton and London - so a lot of traveling (though fortunately not so much since we had Audrey!) I'm 38 now and am feeling a bit old :( . My husband's 48. We want to have another baby, but haven't got pregnant yet; it feels interminable but am having to trust it will happen eventually. I was doing a Masters degree in social anthropology at Edinburgh Uni when I got pregnant, and will be starting counseling training soon. Becoming a mum was a bit of a shock to my system, but it's a lot better now! I've been meaning to post to this forum for ages, but there never seemed to be enough time, so am glad to be here ... nice to 'meet' you all! :) x

Hello Everyone,

My name is Elisha and my daughter Adriana is 2 years old. She is my first child and I am absolutly loving being a mom even with all the good and the bad days. She has been potty trained since she was 21 months and has been wearing panties for 2 months now. She's such a big girl. I swear she has been here before. She is full of energy and speaks very well. Her daycare wants to put her in the 3 years old class because she's so mature. I think it because she does not have a fear of going to the class and her other class mates dont like going to the class when the ratios are off. I' looking to have one more healthy baby and that will complete my family.

Hello Everyone,

I am Alexis I am 29

I actully have 2 December children.

Youngest Abbagayle December 22, 2007 Kaylee December 27th 2000 Christmas right in the middle LOL.

This year we have decided to try having a half birthday for both girls in July.

Abbagayle has had a rough little life first being born at 35 weeks and weight was 4lbs 15oz having Jandice. Then at 9 months old she got kawasaki disease effects 19 out of every 100,000 kids It was horrible we could of lost her. She is still very small for her age her weight is 22lbs and still wears 18 month clothes. other then that she is perfect active smart little girl.

Not potty traning yet have tried a few times.

Sleeping at night is horrible I guess we blame our selfs with her being so sick and so small. She will fall asleep in her own bed at night only if i stay in there reading her stories until she falls asleep, but a few hours later she wakes up crying so we bring her in bed with us. we have tried to do what some suggest and let her cry it out but she will cry for over half an hour and give her self a anxiety attack and from the kawasaki disease leaving her with enlarged arteries and aneurysms on the main arteries of her heart it scares me to death.

any tips on potty training and or sleeping at night would be greatful

Thank you all

Alexis

My name is Amy, My daughter Isabella Skye was born on the 20th.

My daughter is doing very well for her age (minus the tantrums!) She knows how to count to 10, and knows her ABC's. She loves to talk and can say full sentences now. Her favorite thing to do is ask why about everything, and ask what things are. She knows all of her body parts also. Bella is in the middle of potty training, she started going on the potty when she was 16 months old, we are getting close, but not fully trained yet.

She absolutley loves elmo, and Dora the Explorer most of all. I just weaned her of her binky so 10 points for me! haha.

She has a little brother, who is now 10 months old, and she loves him very much. She is such a good helper when it comes to him. It's difficult at times, as I am a teen mom (19), but I believe I am doing a great job, I love them to death!

Hi my name is Danielle, my son is called Alfie and was born on the 6th of December. My son is constanly on the go, he has just found a new love for cars, dogs and shrek. Alfie is a typical boy, loves shouting, climbing, jumping on everyone that comes into my house. Although is a very hands on child with most things his speech isn't very good at the minute and i can't get him to sleep in his own bed neither dispite numerous nights of crying and throwing up!! He is unlucky for me a very strong minded child that matched with his stubborn nature means some days are a struggle, although i can't complain too much because he has the most amazing charater which brings a smile to everyones face.

Hi, My name is Diane. I have an only child- Charlotte. Developmentally speaking Charlotte is very bright. She already knows her ABC's and can write most of them; she can count to twenty. Charlotte loves to sing and will make up songs if she doesn't know the words :) We are currently struggling with eating as she just refuses most of the time (though always with a very polite "no thank you" lol) and with potty training. She was almost thoroughly potty trained until she hit the terrible twos and then it became an issue for her for some reason.

Charlotte is an extremely happy child and very inquisitive about everything. I am blessed to be a part of her life and couldn't think of a better child :)- but then I am partial :) hehe.

Hi, my name is Mary, my daughter Cherish Hope was born on Dec. 3rd, 2007. she is my third child, the other two are 23 in march, and 18. yea, 16 years difference between my two youngest, all girls. She was a planned baby, so no, she was not a surprise.

Cherish is very active, NOT hyper, just loves to stay busy, so i try to keep her that way with activities daily, coloring, playdoh, outside time, music, BOOKS, everyday chores (yes, she has hers too) and cuddling.

i have to say, doing this many years later from my other two girls it is easier than i thought.i guess i have more patience than i did when my older girls were young.

Cherish Hope is growing and developing so much. I have been teaching her simple sign language signs...just for fun, and she uses them daily, and it does help on days she is having a hard time dealing with how she feels. she is attempting to potty train, has been for about two months now.she has always hated to be wet, so this is easy during the day, night time is a little more tricky...

She loves playhouse Disney and morning cartoons. She loves to do things on her own and help and copy mommy. She can count to 10 and tell you letters of the alphabet. We are starting potty training. Basically, she is a wonderful, smart and very much her own person! :)

Hi moms!

My name is Dana and my son's name is Devon. He was born o the 30th as well. I can not believe how fast he is growing and how he is speaking, it's great to communicate with him. He is an only child, spoiled rotten of course. He sleeps with me, always has...yes I know it's not good. He does not sleep through the night, I think he has bad dreams, he wakes up sometimes and says "I scared." He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, used to be obsessed with Elmo but we've moved on. I am a full time student and I work. He knows all of his colors and can count to ten. We are beginning to potty train, he will go teetee when you put him on the potty. Overall, I love this age, it's great. I am so thankful for this gift of motherhood and my son, he is my heart.

Some times she actually wants to sit on the potty! She loves books and reading (we have the Your Baby Can Read Series) She comprehends what you tell her to do and she does it. We don't spank but we do have the "naughty chair" which to her is WORSE than a spank on the bum! LOL She is truly the light of our lives!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, but wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kelley and my son Alexander was born December 1, 2007. He is a sensitive, shy little boy who loves to read all types of books. His favourite toys are trucks, tractors and Thomas the Train. He was a late arrival, a late crawler, a late walker and a late talker. We are just starting to introduce the potty to him, and he is responding slowly but positively. He has a baby sister, Olivia, born in June 2010 and he has started to bond with her; he hugs and kisses her and loves to make her laugh. I look forward to sharing more with this circle of moms! Cheers.

I love her little personality and I admit I spoil her too much (but she's our miracle child and the baby of the house, I love it) I'm a stay at home mom and enjoy every minute of it, I'm very active and love to take walks with my baby girl. I'm also addicted to strollers (my friends find it very amusing) but I think that a good stroller is the first thing on "the most important thing for baby" list, I had 7-8 strollers so I know a good one when I see it :) We started potty training and it's slowly getting there :)

Should've also added that Cooper is awesome, coz he is! Very talkative and articulates everything beautifully, helps that he has 2 very talkative older sisters, who are also great little babysitters! Cooper loves to wear his big boy undeez but doesn't seem overly interested in potty training just yet. His eating at the moment is a little sporadic, but could be due to the very hot days we're having as he's still drinking lots and will eat his fruit. He's very active and is a BOY through and through! loves trucks, cars, motorbikes, loud noise, drums, guitars, muscle tops, been outside from morning to night! Any other Christmas day babies on here?

We never have accidents any more though. When she needs to go, she will bring me a diaper and tell me to put it on and she tells me when she needs to be changed. So she knows what she needs to do just doesn't want to yet :) She also talks A LOT. She talks as well as her 3 and 4 year old cousins and has been able to count to 10 by herself for almost a year now. Hoping she will continue to learn this quickly as she continues to grow :)

She loves to eat anything and everything including Curry and Gumbo! My son is 6 and he's a picky eater so it's nice to have one that will eat whatever I give her. She is a girl through and through and loves to dress up in princess dresses and pretend to be a ballerina. She speaks in very full sentences, which I think is at least partly due to her older brother. He wasn't as advanced in speaking at 2. She is also a bully and is always determined to have her own way. Her brother will complain to me that she is hitting and pushing him, luckily he is sweet and won't do it back.

I am a stay at home mom until the kids are a bit older and love to bake, read and spend time on the computer. I also love to ride horses but there isn't any time for that until my daughter is older. I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi! My name is Nola. My daughter Mya was born on the 30th. She has an older brother and sister, so she has caught on to things very quickly. She really likes her bottle (alot), it gets in the way of her eating habits. I mean i let it get in the way, She really likes fruits and veggies, and she likes eating meats and cheese. I think we are almost ready to potty train, except the amount of bottles might get in the way. I think i might just have to cut the bottle back a bit. I am really enjoying this stage right now, unless we go to town (shopping). Shopping is not fun with a toddler.....
