I'm looking for healthy snacks to eat in the car and that are safe for a 20 month old. Right now we do gold fish crackers, cherrio's and sweet potato sticks. Does anyone have any good, healthy, safe snack ideas?

My boys like fig newtons, you can buy them in individual packages and they are made with 100% whole grain and 100% real fruit so they are good for them too! We also sometimes have granola bars in the car because they are easy and not too messy.

Craisins in a snack cup or Cheerios or Rice Chex or Yogurt Drops - all in a snack cup.

My little girl likes brown rice cakes. They are very healthy and easy to brush the crumbs out of the car.

For vegi's during the summer you might take some frozen vegetables and put them in a small bowl or bag. My daughter likes to fish out carrots. If your out and give them to her, usually they defrost before they get to them. Or try some mixed vegi's with corn, carrots, peas - although if they are too small it can get messy...

For a carb/protein - I give my daughter the ritz bits bite size crackers that have peanut butter in them (protein) as she loves peanut butter. I usually can get her to enjoy her sippy cup too as they are a little salty.

Raisins are also on our list.

I like to do raisins too, but my son won't chew them up too well, so I buy the yogurt raisins. He chews them up better. And he loves Grapes! Try to get the small ones, but he eats them really well. And other thing I found were the Pringles Baked Wheat Stix. They come in a box of 10 individual bags and each bag is 90 calories. My son loves these and they take a little time to eat b/c they are sticks!

I often mix up a small bowl of dried fruit (cranberries, bananas, raisins, etc) and sometimes even add whole wheat goldfish crackers. My daughter absolutely loves them in the car!

My son's new favorite is raisins. They don't make too big a mess and eating right from the box keeps him busy.
