hi all, i need help, my son is refusing to have salty foods.all he wants is his cereals or porridge or sweet stuff. He was fine a week back when he was having atleast one salty meal.but now he's not even having that.I was away for a month and just got back a few days ago, do you think he's still in the setteling mode and is cranky and moody because of that? Also he's not too keen on having chewy stuff. He wants purees or cereals or things in which he doesnt want to chew etc.I dont knw wat to do.I tried giving him french toast in the mornings but he just refuses to eat then.Normally he would have a big bowl of his cereal or porridge. He has 7 teeth altogether now. Please let me know if someone else has had this problem and how did you cope?

thanks

My son went through this and my daughter just started this. My kids do love veggies and fruit, but I've discovered a few tricks to keep them interested. Both my kids love celery especially if it has peanut butter on it or if your child is allergic to that you can use yogurt. My kids love that as much my husband and I do. I dip apples in caramel, mix bananas and strawberries together. But when it comes to salty foods my husband and I aren't big on salty foods either and neither are our kids, but it sounds like that might be the problem. Maybe he just got sick of it. I've found that if it tastes too salty depending what exactly the food is you can try adding a lil bit of milk to it if it's a stroganoff or something that has a cream base to it. My kids and I love tomato soup but if it's made with water it tastes way too salty, but if you mix it with milk instead it tastes a lot better. And a lot times especially when it comes to restaurant food it's just something new for them, but once you make it at home they kind of come out of that phase for a few days. Been there done that with my son. Just hang in there and try adding your own personal touch to recipes you find it works wonders. Hope this helps.

My little guy is refusing certain foods altogether, too. He is low on iron and won't touch veggies and most fruit. What I try and do is just keep offering as much of many things as I can... Sunday he ate food at a resturant he had never eaten before - at home I made him the same thing and he refused to eat it. Frustrating stuff! hang in there...
