Does anyone else have a baby that only says "da da". Taylor will even wave bye bye, but still say "da da" It's funny, but I wonder how long it will be until she says "mama"!

My 13 1/2 month old son said mom and mama at 9 mo. for a week straight then he learned dada and bye bye and he stopped saying mama...it's  funny sometimes but i wonder why he wont say it anymore...it has been about 4 1/2 mo since...i guess time will tell.

My little one says mama, bye bye and yuck! Instead of dada....he does say ba ba (not sure what that is because he drinks out of a cup and still nurses a little!

Mylie has no interest in talking to us yet... well I take that back, she loves to talk to us, just in her own language that we have yet to interpret lol.... we try to get her to say what we want her to say; momma dadda bite nose abygail ayden haylee (her siblings names)  but she just grins and babbles back her own way :)

funny we spend so much time trying to get our kids to walk and talk and in a few years we do all we can to get them to sit down and be quiet!

My son turned 1 on December 26 and makes all the noises but they are not aimed at anything or anyone. We are raising him bi-lingual and I've read that it often takes bi-lingual kids longer to start speaking so I'm not worried. Also, two of my friends have 2-year-olds (one bi-lingual, the other monolingual) and neither of them are speaking at all. Then I have another friend who's 2-year-old is speaking in full sentences. Each kid is different. They have different priorities I guess. Some focus on motor skills, some focus on linguistic skills, some focus on social skills, etc. It will happen when it happens.

Kean's 13 1/2 months and he still only says da da. When he gets on one of his da da kicks, I argue with him and go ma ma. We do that back and forth which he thinks is funny. He knows who mama is, he just doesn't say it yet.

My daughter just started saying mama consistently. She used to babble it and she understood who mama was, but now she actually comes up to me and says mama. She's already 13 months. She has a pretty good vocabulary already, but I was just waiting for that mama. Don't worry your little girl will say mama soon.
