My son is 25 months old, and we have ALMOST mastered using the potty at home. The problem is, I dont know how to continue this when we leave the house. Everytime we go out of the house (even to the park) I put him back in a pull up. Im not a fan of cleaning up accidents at home, and Im sure they are far worse in public (or in a carseat...YUCK!!). Any suggestions?? Or is it okay to continue this for a few months until he is a little more "ready" for public restrooms?

Buy a foldable potty seat. They fold up small enough to fit in the diaper bag or small backpack and fit right on the big potty in public. I bought one because every time my daughter would ask to go potty when we were out she got scared of falling in the big potty when I held her over it. She loves her pooh bear potty seat.

They also sell travel potties that you can use in the car, but I've heard mixed reviews.

As for accidents in the car seat, my friend's sister put plastic on the seat so that if her daughter had an accident she didn't have to clean up the cover all the time. I personally just put a pull up on my daughter when we go out and she's fine.
