So tired of everyone thinking my little girl is a boy!

It gets so frustrating - I had to vent. My daughter is blonde and has very little hair. My mom says I was the same way until I was almost 3! I have her ears pierced, she is almost always in pink or something equally as feminine and yet I STILL have people continuously come up to me to tell me what a cute little guy I have. Her facial features are even feminine!
Just had to get that out...

People are always confusing my boy with a girl, he was born with a ton of hair and people assume that only girl babies have hair! It is so frustrating! We are even thinking about cutting his hair really short.

i used hair bows- didn't go anywhere with out one on her head- you have to find the right ones though- go for panty hose type band so it doesn't put any pressure on her little head. but aven then there is the occasional weirdo who must be wondering why pretty baby boy has a pink bow on his head LMBO! it takes all kinds.

for my son i actually bought shirts that said " I am not a girl" on them, but he was so pretty i could understand why most people thought he was a girl.

My daughter wears a lot of pink and has her ears pierced also, but people, but I still have the same problem that you have. It does get very frustrating that no matter what you do, people just assume that they are boys. My daughter has thick brown hair too, they just don't pay attention!

It happens to me every time I take my daughter anywhere.  I always have her in pink or another femine color and her stroller is even pink.  What is wrong with people?  The need to say your child/baby.

I'm sorry you are going through this too. I still get the "boy or girl" question and like you, my daughter is always in something girly. Yesterday I lost my cool and looked at the woman and asked what her sex was, she didn't seem too happy about this, she looked just as annoyed as I was. Oh well, I'm allowed to be moody, ha ha!

Wow - sounds like you really had a busy week around her birthday. My husband and I are both Dutch so all of our relatives live in The Netherlands. We took our son there for his first birthday and he had no less than 4 birthday parties, none of which were thrown by us - haha. I will keep the no red & green anything in mind for any upcoming birthdays! Thanks.

Hi Esther! Thanks for the sweet remarks about my little girl! As for their birth date - my husband's birthday is 12/29 - also pretty close to Christmas. He has made me swear to never use Christmas wrap, never use a Christmas card in place of a Birthday Card, never think that leftover red and green anything from napkins to m&m's would be appropriate....

Her 1st Birthday was a mess, we actually moved that same week as well - can you believe it!

Laura - I haven't had that experience fortunately with my little boy, but I looked at the picture of Harleigh on your profile, and not only is she adorable (love that picture in the hat) she also TOTALLY looks like a girl to me. Some people are just dumb. They cannot be helped. BTW - I see your daughter & my son share the same birthday (both 12/26/07) - I'm sure they'll love us forever for having them the day after X-mas ;)

lol. Yeah my daughter has hair and I still get "is it a boy or girl?" if she has on a gender neutral color. A few weeks ago she was running a fever so I only had her in a diaper and someone asked if she was a little boy. This was before we cut her hair so she had little curls and her hair was semi long. Some people are just weird like that.

I had the same problem when my daughter was a baby, she didn't really have hair until she was well past 3 - I used to try to keep pink bows in her hair, but of course she would pull them out. I have a son now, so I have made the mistake of asking how old "he" is to other mothers, I feel awful when they tell me that the baby's a girl. I should know better!
