What Can I do To Help My Son Sleep Better At Night?

Kymauri wakes up in the middle of every night crying. I think he has bad dreams. I do let him sleep in the bed with me. I gave him a teddy bear to sleep with and it helps a little but not much. What should I do?

My son was going through the same thing, although I never let him sleep with me. In the end I bought him a stuffed turtle that projects stars and the moon on his roof. Now when he wakes he turns it on and it illuminates his room with a soft green light. It also gives him something to concentrate on by looking at the stars and he seems to forget that he was upset, and goes back to sleep.

I would give him a sip of water and say " it's alright go back to sleep, you're ok" then leave the room right away. He needs to learn to sleep on his own when he wakes up from a bad dream.

Also have a routine everynight to help him feel more comfortable in his bed. Bath, brush teeth and then story. Kiss him and then lights out. do the exact same every night and be patient but firm.

good luck :)
