I just had Josie at the doc yesterday. He said I could switch her to either whole or 2% now...which I already did. Once they are over 2 years they would like to see them on 1% or skim. So there is some advice from my daughters Pediatrician.

I've only ever given my babies 2%. We right to that from formula. So I'm sure you can stop the whole milk at anytime.

My daughter's doctor said he normally recommends 2% after age 2. But for her since she is slightly under weight he has her on whole milk still till he re-evaluates her at 3yrs. She was in the 55% for height and 19% for weight.

My son was in the 90th percentile when he was 1, and the doctor suggested 2% instead of whole milk when switching from formula. He is pushing 3 and has not had any problems with having 2% instead. I think most milk is fortified wit the vitamins needed. I hope this helps.
